On Saltwater Inlet - 4+ Bedroom House & Separate Guest Cottage
- Minimum stay:N/A
- Internet:Yes
- Pets allowed:Yes
- Wheel chair accessible:No
Our house offers the perfect combination of space that provides guests the opportunity for both solitude and for time to gather as a family with 3 separate living areas. Very important - all the beds have new memory foam mattresses and ample new pillows - no lumpy old bedding. Two of the three upstairs bedrooms also have separate private sitting areas to read or watch TV. The house is located in a quiet residential neighborhood, on a saltwater inlet - perfect for kayaking and it is within walking distance to a small private bay-beach perfect for small children.
5 large, beautiful ocean beaches are a 5-10 minute drive - Downtown Falmouth is 2 miles - many restaurants, shops and of course the Ferry to Martha's Vineyard and a movie theatre!!
The Main House offers 4 bedrooms and 2 baths The Guest Cottage is within 10 steps of Main House and has its own kitchen, bath, sleeping porch with a twin bed and living/sleeping space with a queen LL Bean Futon/Couch. Cable TV and wireless internet.
The Shinning Sea Bike Path begins in Falmouth and is a 10 mile paved bicycle path (no cars) along the water to Woods Hole. Many small beautiful beaches along the way offer the opportunity to cool off.
Falmouth Harbor offers many opportunities for getting out on the ocean - Ferry to Martha's Vineyard (a 30 minute trip) fishing charter boats as well as sailing/power boats to rent.
Our private dock provides a wonderful opportunity for canoeing or kayaking or just sitting and enjoying the wildlife - or meditating. Perch Pond is a saltwater inlet - very private, very quiet, very beautiful
A neighborhood small bay beach is a 5 minute walk and offers a perfect spot for small children to get in the water without fearing waves. Our Grandchildren love this beach. You can be back for nap time without getting in the car!

We took our morning cups of coffee and sat in the wooden chairs by the water, marveling at our good fortune to be here. Just sitting looking at the inlet, watching water birds tool around was a pleasure. A small beach is minutes walk away. The bigger ocean beaches are a quick drive. The fabulous bike path makes for easy walking (or biking) near the shore. The calm interior of the house has several small sitting areas. Perfect for visiting, or a quiet read. Plenty of room everywhere. The sun room is the best. We spent our inside time there. The water is seen out of almost every window. The furnishings are a great mix of new and antique, done by someone with an eye for interior harmony. Many lovingly preseved buildings delight in near by Falmouth. This is New England all the way. Woods Hole is just down the road. Wonderful day trips beckon. We took the ferry to Martha's Vinyard right from Falmouth. Visiting the island is a step back in time. The local bus conviniently takes you all over the island. We also enjoyed a terrific whale watch leaving from Barnstable, an easy drive. I can't wait to return to swim in the water and rejuvenate in this exquisite house on the water.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, adventure seekers, sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway, age 55+, girls getaway.

This house has everything a vacationer could ask for – its on the water; its close to beaches and to town and has all the modern conveniences (dishwasher, washing machine, dryer, etc.). There is a dining room table but I ate all of my meals on the deck overlooking the ocean. My favorite thing to do was to sit on an easy chair overlooking the water, drink coffee, and watch the day roll in. I would highly recommend staying here and would do so again.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, adventure seekers, families with young children, age 55+, girls getaway, people with disabilities.

My family spent a relaxing week at this house. It had everything we needed, and then some. The house is spacious with a modern kitchen and ample bathrooms. Out back there is a large deck where we ate most of our meals, and just lingered with coffee and enjoyed the view of the bay. I didn't want to leave! We will definitely return!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway, age 55+, girls getaway.

There was so much to enjoy in this lovely well maintained Cape Home. Owner has a taste for decorating and it shows well in every room throughout this attractive comfortable home. Lovely yard and so easy to access the water inlet to Kayak or Canoe. Close to wonderful down town Falmouth along with many beaches and bike paths. Looking forward to another vacation here. Owners very helpful and being new to the Cape, answered all my questions. What a pleasure to stay in this home.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, adventure seekers, sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway, age 55+, girls getaway.

We have been looking for a vacation house that would provide the comfort and privacy that this wonderful Cape Cod gem did! As stated in the description - the house is very spacious allowing for time to be quiet but also has living areas that invite family members to assemble and have fun together. Wonderful bedrooms and great mattresses!! The neighborhood small beach was perfect since e did have small children who loved this small bay-beach. About a five minute walk made it possible to go in the late morning and be back in time for lunch and a nap. Our parents (the Grandparents of our 4 children) were so happy with their own guest house about 10 feet from the main house. When they needed their own space they simply strolled through the yard and retired! Very private residential neighborhood - but only about a 2 mile drive to downtown Falmouth and about a 4 mile drive to a number of lovely beaches. We are already planning for 2 weeks for the summer of 2013.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

This house is wonderful! Large and spacious with beds that are more comfortable than the ones we sleep in at home! Both the main house and the guest cottage are beautifully furnished with a combination of new comfortable furniture, some antique/special pieces and interesting artwork. The little neighborhood beach is within walking distance and is great for children - no waves and easy to go home for a quick lunch or a nap. This is a very quiet neighborhood with lovely homes. We launched our kayaks from the backyard and I spent many quiet moments sitting on the dock enjoying the water and swans. We had numerous family games of badminton and croquet - fun! Chappaquoit Beach is a 4 mile drivem the beaches on Surf Beach are a 2-3 mile drive - all great. We have already booked the house for 2 weeks next summer.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, adventure seekers, sightseeing, families with young children, age 55+, girls getaway.
