• Fully fitted kitchen – washing machine/dryer, dishwasher, fridge freezer, microwave, oven, also a Nespresso machine for your morning caffeine fix!
• Situated on the first floor (of two floors) of a small building with an attractive period façade
• Extremely light and airy with large sash windows and high ceilings, lots of character

• Fully furnished with all utensils, bedding and everything you’ll need for your stay – just bring your suitcases!

Nestled between the two financial districts (City of London and Canary Wharf) on the North side of the Thames River, my City of London apartment offers the best of both worlds – close proximity to the action but without all the noise that’s usually associated with city centre living! It is situated on a quiet side street which doesn’t really get much noise.

This lovely two bedroom London City Vacation Rental apartment is close to everything you’ll need to make it your base in the city.

The property has wooden floors throughout and has a homely and contemporary feel. It is light and spacious and is able to cater for up to six people. There is a comfortable bed (one king, one double) in each room. However, if you have more than 4 people in your group, you can also take advantage of the double sofa bed in the living area, or a single deluxe blow up mattress (of which many guests have said they've had one of the best night's sleep EVER on it!).

Available for your use is a TV and DVD player, as well as a number of books, guides and other useful information to make your stay in the city as enjoyable as possible. WIFI internet is also provided for your use.

Within a 15 minute walking radius you will find possibly the most famous of all London attractions, Tower Bridge (breathtaking up close), as well as the Tower of London (centuries of history), the award-winning Whitechapel Gallery which has just undergone a multi £££ makeover (founded 1901), Spitalfields (markets), Brick Lane (curry houses), St Katherine Docks (marina, restaurants) and dozens of restaurants, fast food outlets, bars, shops and parks. There are two large supermarkets, both of which are about a 4 minute walk from the apartment, and also many smaller grocery stores which are even closer.

Situated in a very historic old part of London, the apartment is 5 minutes to the nearest tube (subway/underground/metro) station – Whitechapel, on the East London (Orange), District (Green) and the Hammersmith and City (Pink) lines and the nearest DLR station is Shadwell, also 5 minutes away, with direct links to the Olympic site of Stratford, Bank (in the city), Tower Gateway (Tower Bridge & the Tower of London) and Canary Wharf, which can also be reached by the bus, or a 30 minute walk along the river. Here you'll find an endless choice of restaurants, bars and shops.

Whitechapel will also be part of the anticipated Crossrail route with direct access to Heathrow airport once the works have been completed in the near future.

There are lots of bus connections going to the City (if you don’t want to walk the 20 minutes it takes to get there), and numerous buses to take you to Fleet Street, Oxford Street and beyond.

And if you really want to live like a local, there is always the option of hiring one of the thousands of blue (‘Boris’) bikes which is a hop on and hop off hire by the hour service. The closest station is located one minute from the apartment.

Stratford Shopping Centre is very reachable and as one of the largest shopping centres in the northern hemisphere. also offers the choice of hundreds of different shops, bars and restaurants.

And for those who are attending one of the many conferences, seminars or trade shows at the ExCel Centre, the apartment is well placed to reach it easily.

Situated in a small side street nestled between the two financial districts (City of London and Canary Wharf), my apartment offers the best of both worlds – close proximity to the action but without all the noise that’s usually associated with city centre living!

Walk a few minutes in any direction and you will find dozens of restaurants, bars, shops, parks, and many famous tourist attractions including Whitechapel Gallery (founded 1901), Spitalfields (markets), Brick Lane (curry houses), St Katherine Docks (marina, restaurants), Tower of London (centuries of history) and possibly the most famous of all London attractions, Tower Bridge (breathtaking up close)!

And ever so close to the Olympics grounds.

The apartment is also very accessible to the ExCel Centre if you're attending one of the many conferences, seminars or trade shows there.

Year Purchased: 2003

About the owner: I am a keen conservationist (after all, I grew up in a country that restricts water usage almost all year round due to a lack of rainfall!) and recycle wherever possible, including buying recycled products even though they cost a little more. However, rest assured I don't like to compromise on quality and am a bit of a clean-freak, so I can guarantee you’ll be staying in a lovely clean, well-maintained apartment. After all, I wouldn’t expect anyone to stay somewhere I wasn’t happy to stay myself! I also limit the use of chemicals used by the housekeepers in the apartment. As a dust allergy sufferer myself, I ensure that the property is always spotlessly clean although being right in the centre of London is not always conducive to a totally dust-free environment!

Why the Owner Chose City of London:
Being an Aussie and growing up around water, it was always important to me to be near water in London too. And as a runner, what better location to live in than somewhere close to the Thames for a morning jog?! Also with the hip and trendy East End being the new West End, there are a host of bars and restaurants, as well as museums and great markets to keep busy with.

Situated on a small street, the apartment is so close to many bustling areas & touristy spots, and is also in an area that's become the new 'West End' - it's now a thriving, artistic centre with millions of pounds being poured into it every year. Unlike many of the more modern buildings being built now, the apartment has lovely high ceilings & sash windows, and this gives the place a bit of character!
