Kailua Vacation

Guest: 5malms (Okanagan Valley, BC, Canada)
Date of Stay: 04/29/12 Review Submitted: 05/10/12

We just returned from a one week vacation in Kailua where we had a fabulous time with our 3 girls and their boyfriends. The house was amazing and was more than enough room for all 8 of us. We all said that we never felt like we were on top of each at any time. The pictures really do not do it justice. It is so much more open and more spacious than we had expected. It was really nice to have a pool to jump into after walking home from the beach or exploring. The location is great, with beaches and parks within walking distance. Lots of grocery stores and little shops within walking distance as well. The property manager Lianne was great, and although she was away at the time she was in contact with us regularly via email and had a colleague check in on us. A rental car is a must if you want to see all that the island has to offer. A drive up to the North Shore is definitely worth it. Opal's Thai restaurant on the North Shore is awesome and Opal is the best host! It was a great holiday and we will definitely return. Many thanks !!

Great Family Getaway

For a family of 12, what a great getaway place! We were in town for my sister's wedding at nearby Kualoa Ranch. The house was exactly what we needed for our stay - great full kitchen, a ping pong table that held many tournaments over our stay, a beautiful, relaxing living room, and plenty of space for the entire bridal party to get ready. The house was clean and modern. The beach was great for morning runs along the beautiful water, and the kids enjoyed taking walks since it wasn't too far away. We would def. rent this place again.

Great stay

House is better than pix! Super clean and spacious. Great place to come with kids and has a fully fenced in private yard kids can run all around the house in. So close to the Kailua beach access about 2 nlock walk away even with a stroller! Kitchen has all you need and more. Pool was clean and fun but cold in February and was rally only used briefly by the kids and brave parents. Would be better in hotter months. Only thing that would be better would be to be on the beach, but other than that it's perfect for a large group. Lots of parking. Fun times!

recent stay

Date of Stay: 02/04/12 Review Submitted: 02/17/12

We were so happy with the house during our recent stay. It was clean, comfortable, enough room for our whole family, and close to the beach and shopping in Kailua. The property manager was great too. She responded to all our calls and was very helpful before and during our stay. The pool was used constantly by our two granddaughters and the rest of us hung out around the pool lounging with our morning coffee or meals, that is, when we were not out and about touring the island. We did quite a bit of cooking in the kitchen and loved all the recent updates done there. It had most every utensil, dish and pan that we needed, as well, so that we could eat in a meal or two a day. We hated to leave at the end of our stay and would highly reccommend it to anyone for a family vacation.

We are missing beautiful Kailua Beach just one block away from Ko'olau Vista Villa

Lianne & Ramon I must say thank you first for your perfect house and such a beautiful setting. It was an amzing stay here for us. We had 10 people. When we arrived at home you were waiting for us and welcomed us with big smile even it was late night. It was long flight from New York and to save time after arrival Ohau at night I asked Lianne to buy some foods for light dinner we can eat at home on arrival and some groceries for next morning breakfast. when we got in home late night everthing was there. We had to go out early next morning for golfing. Whenever we needed something she took care of it right away. We didn't have any inconvenient things during we stayed. House is huge and swimming pool is clean, we enjoyed BBQ party every other night and swimming under so clear sky with countless sparkling stars. When we go to bed we were fallen to sleep with hearing sounds of waves from Kailua beach thru window. I woke up early like 5am and went to beach for a morning walk every day for 7days. It was so peacefule and quiet at the beach and I enjoyed it so much . I wish I would be at the beach now again to enjoy early morning beach walk. The best house and best place for vacation spot, very relaxing. We enjoyed everything about it. We will have many good memories in this house for a long long time. Thank you Lianne and Ramon so much for sharing your beautiful house and making our first trip to Hawaii wonderful. It was hard to leave this place. It is true paradise on earth. Specially thanks to Ramon for taking our 10 golf bags and luggages to the airport when we left. We hope to return some day.

Beautiful Kailua Vacation Rental home

Guest: Cyn (San Jose, CA)
Date of Stay: 09/20/11 Review Submitted: 10/04/11

This was the perfect home for our one week vacation. My husband and I were getting married in Waimanalo and wanted a home that was nearby. We stayed at the Ko'olau Vista Villa with 12 of our close friends and family including 3 children under the age of 8. This home was family friendly, had an open floorplan which allowed us the freedom to be in different parts of the home, and never feeling like we were crammed together. The kids thoroughly enjoyed the pool and the beach toys. Kailua beach is a block away and has good waves to boogie board. My husband and I had the master bedroom and it was huge! And it had a wonderful lanai where we ate breakfast each morning and were able to look over at the mountains in the distance. The drive to anywhere else on the island was not bad. The small town feel of Kailua and the friendly neighbors made this a pleasant stay. We plan to return in the near future! Thank you Lianne for welcoming us on arrival.

This home was perfect for our vacation. Our son is in the service so 7 of us went to spend his birthday with him. The home was perfect for what we needed. It was close to the base, beach, food, shopping, etc. No one could find a thing wrong with the home. The pool was great to just cool off in after a long day, and the grill got used a ton. The beach is only 2 blocks a very short walk away. The beach was beautiful and it wasn't packed at all. We will definetely be goin back to this home. Kailua is the best place we found on the entire island it had the small town home feel. This home is a military families dream it was very affordable compared to the rest with all that it had to offer. Thank you very much Lianne for being a great hostess.

My wife and I and 11 other family members stayed at this house the week of Thankgiving 2008. We had an exceptionally good time and experience at this location. Plenty of room for 13 and 5 additional guest on Thankgiving day. House and property were clean and well maintained with all of the extra's. Have a great time.

We just returned from one most relaxing weeks of our lives. A friend who lives in Kailua was getting married and all of her Calgary friends were looking for a place we could all stay. Let’s just say we hit a gold mine with this house. Thanks to Lianne, it had everything we needed and more. We took full advantage of the pool, bbq, boogy boards, bikes, laundry, ping pong, tennis rackets, etc. The location was perfect, two blocks from the beach and all of the amenities of town within walking distance. I highly recommend a daily trip to Kalapawai Market and Deli for coffee. The house is very large with lots of spaces to just sit and relax so even when it is full you never get in each others way. The kitchen was very well stocked with everything we needed (the blender had a good maitai workout) and there was no shortage of linens and beach towels. Let’s just say we loved it so much we did not want to leave and spent our last day thinking about when we could all come back.

Wow! We just returned from a 2 week vacation with 11 of us staying at the house. It was absolutely amazing! Lianne and her sister were there to greet us and show us around. They gave us lots of helpful hints and were always just a phone call away. We just can't say enough about the house and the location. It couldn't have been any better. Even with that many people, we never seemed to get in each others way. The pool was fabulous! The beach, shopping, boogie boarding, surfing, and day trips were perfect. We had a most amazing time and would highly recommend this property to anyone.

My husband and I stayed here for four days before our wedding. We had our entire wedding party (6 other people) stay with us and the place never felt crowded. The property is a beautiful, short walk to Kailua Beach. The house is fully stocked with all the necessary amenities and the master bedroom is HUGE! We'd definitely stay here again!

Just finished a great two week family reunion at the Ko'olau Vista Villa. We had family fly in from Japan, Pennsylvania and Utah and we found the house to be the perfect gathering place for us to relax and play and enjoy our time together as a family. The pool was a favorite among the adults and children along with the ping pong table and the large fenced in yard. The location was great and we were able to find everything we needed at the nearby stores. We enjoyed meeting Lianne & Ramon and appreciate all they did to make our stay a positive one. We would definitely reccommend this house to anyone looking for a geat vacation rental on Oahu!

What a beautiful home. We had 9 adults and 3 children and an infant. We took advantage of every bedroom in the place. The walk to the beach was so convenient, the neighborhood is quiet, the pool was great for the days we wanted to lay around . We really enjoyed every minute and Lianne and Ramon were very helpful with information. BTW, Lianne, the folks at Hanauma Bay didn't show for the Saturday evening snorkling, but we went on a morning and it was fabulous.

My daughter Andrea Dejesus already said everything about the house that we rented from Lianne & Raymond and how great it was to have a chance to experience a great vacation there. They have everything that we needed and more. The house is very beautiful, clean and near a private beach. I highly recommend to anyone that is going on vacation to stay there. Lianne & Ramon, thank you so much for everything and cannot not wait to come back and stay there again soon. If you are ever in Los Angeles, please come look us up.

My name is Sabrina Brill, and we are from California. We stayed at Ko'olau Vista Villa the house in October with our children and some friends and their daughter. It was perfect for us - having our own pool, the Jacuzzi tub in the master bedroom, the veranda off the upstairs bedrooms ( I just lounged on the chaise for hours and read a book after the kids passed out at night), the two outside showers the enclosed yard for my 2 year old son, and the hours and hours all the kids spent trying to catch a gecko... was the icing on the cake. We rode the bikes to the beach and everywhere. The beach down the street is amazing, it was breathtaking and great to walk down to the beach and just sit and drink coffee in the morning while the kids played in the waves. Lianne & Ramon were SO SO SO very HELPFUL.... they had such a beautiful welcome basket we walked in and the house was so amazing to begin with. They were so good about cluing us in on all the best local places to go and eat and do stuff, they are a goldmine of information about the island and all it has to offer. We had an amazing week and are planning to be there again soon. We loved it so much we started looking for jobs and a house to buy there. It's not a scam...I had my reservations too, because it sounded too good to be true, but after 35 years of Oahu visits to Waikiki - I wanted something better for my family and this is it. I also looked at other rental's in Kailua... but this was the best price for the most amount of space and a pool. (For me it was the Jacuzzi tub that put me over the top) I was very impressed with Lianne & Ramon and how great they were with any questions or problems we had. We even helped them change a couple light bulbs. Please feel to email me with any further questions you have... we had a great experience and would do it again in a flash, even with 3 kids in tow! We had a wonderful stay in this beautiful home in November of 04. The house is well stocked with just about everything you might need. Lots of towels, mats, we even used the bikes to bike around the neighborhood. We loved the fact that it is so spacious, plenty of room for our 2 young children to run around. There were 5 adults and 2 children in our party. We enjoyed a morning walk to the beach almost daily. The nearby Kailua beach is great for family, and it is not crowded. We used the pool, and even had a BBQ party with some local friends. We had a wonderful time, and it is a great vacation home to enjoy the island, and stay away from the much too crowded Waikiki beach. Aloha, Jenny Parker

Aloha! I just stayed at the Ko'olua Vista Villa last week. I was there from August 9th-15th with my whole family of 14. Lianne and Ramon were so wonderful. My family and I planned our trip to Oahu almost a year ago because I was getting married there. The house that we originally rented fell through the day before we were leaving. We were horrified because we didn't know where we were going to stay. Luckily I found Lianne and Ramon's listing on-line. I spoke to Lianne and she was very nice. She really made me feel at ease. She showed me pictures of the house through their website cometooahu. com The pictures do not even do justice because the house is a million times better in person. The house is a 4 bedroom house, but it could easily be a 5 bedroom if you count the ping-pong room(which has a couch, futon, and TV in it). You can tell that Lianne and Ramon really put alot of love into the house by the way that they decorated it. Each room has so much character. It was amazing. They thought of everything you could think of to accommodate their guests. There were bicycles, fishing poles, surf boards, boogie boards, unlimited towels/beach towels, linens galore, beach mats, books, movies, games...gosh I could go on forever. There was a swimming pool that we spent countless hours at, that is if we weren't at the beach 1 1/2 blocks away(if it was even that far). The beach was so beautiful. We really liked Kailua Beach better than all the rest because it was more secluded. It was an amazing trip. We all had so much fun. Kailua was the perfect location..not too far from anywhere. We all had rental cars so I'm not too sure about the bus line. However my husband used to live in Oahu and said that the bus line was near by and is very easy to use. Oh yeah, Lianne and Ramon also have a washer and dryer which was very useful. There was also a BBQ grill which we took full advantage of. The kitchen was fully stocked with all the necessary stuff...my husband is a chef and really enjoyed using their kitchen. So all in all..the house exceeded our expectations. It was perfect in every way, and we were all really sad to leave it behind. The house completed or vacation...we could not have asked for anything more. Lianne and Ramon were very professional, but at the same time you feel like they are old friends that you've had for a long time. They just give you that feeling of comfort and their house totally reflects that as well. I hope that you enjoy your stay at Ko'olua Vista Vil
