Because the villa is situated in the center of southern Croatia (Dalmatia region), 100 meters from the beach and just 6km south of the 1700 year old town of Split, it will be the beautiful base from where you will explore the beauties of Croatia. A fantastic view from the terrace that can be connect with the livingroom creates a common area surface of 100 m2 and has hardly any competition in the Split area. Our party of 4 (two couples) spent a week in April in VillaGG. We had a delightful time and the villa was more than we expected...a beautiful view from the porch with fantastic sunsets, huge TV sets, a complete kitchen (and I mean really complete), comfortable beds, unlimited hot water, and washer/dryers. In addition we were invited to pick fresh lemons off a tree in the yard for homemade lemonade. We walked to the nearby small grocery store, and to the seaside restaurant. Grgo, the owner, was available and helpful whenever we needed assistance, and he is totally fluent in English which was an extra bonus for us Yanks. I highly recommend this property. We stayed on the middle floor. The suite was lovely, very modern and exactly how I like things at home. The bathroom's to die for and I'm sure you could get 4 people in the bath! Beautiful, panoramic views over the adriatic from the balcony. There's stairs up to the apartment and the villa's on a hillside so not for everyone but OK if you're fit and healthy and like us, could do with the exercise. We stayed in the middle floor apartment for a week and loved it. It really does live up to the description in the listing: spacious, clean, with everything you need for a relaxing holiday. The great TV was ideal for watching Olympic highlights after a long day exploring the local Podstrana beach attractions, or going further afield by hire car, bus or ferry to places suggested by Grgo, the owner: such as Hvar, Trogir, Omis, the National Park at Krka, the ruins at Salona, the Cetina river canyon, among others. So in the evenings we never got beyond the nearby restaurant, Amigos which was ideal for us. Grgo was business-like & friendly from the initial booking enquiry to our final departure. We had to wait for an evening flight & his family let us sit on their cool terrace instead of having to swelter in a crowded airport! Great place. Good people.Did you find this review helpful? Great place to stay. Apartment very clean and very well organized. Grgo was there to welcome us and had a package to get us familiar with Split. He went as far as to help us to book an airplane ticket. He also recomendded some restaurants around the area. Try Arkada. It was wonderful. We kept coming back to it. Overall a great experience. Grgo welcomed us all on arrival and explained the amenities of the property and excursions which could be taken. The property is spotlessly clean with everything needed for a great holiday. The beach and sea are down the hill less than 10 minutes walk and there are several nice restaurants in the area. Try amigos,Jures,San antonio and adjacent bar as well as Leonis and Scampares on the marina. The San antonio will allow you to use their shades and beds but you should buy drinks in reciprication. Daniel the beach waiter is friendly as well as the staff who will let you use the roof pool as well. Split is a great city ,very safe and friendly and only 15 mins away on the bus. The house (2nd floor) was very modern, spacious, clean, and had a spectacular view. The host was very friendly and helpful. The house was located outside Split and didn't have much activities in Podstrana itself where it is very peaceful but it was very easy to get to Split and Omis(by bus or car)and other surroundings places worth sightseeing.Did you find this review helpful? We spent 4 nights in the villa and we had a beatiful time. The villa is very quiet and well furnished. The location is also very good. Grgo gave us a lot of useful information that we tried : we only have good surprises, including restaurant adresses that we very tastefull. If you don't need to be right in the middle of Split and just want a place to take day tours from, this place is perfect. The pictures tell it all. When you come back from a day trip, you park your car and could walk to a fabulous restaurant Amigo's and watch the sun set - or go up the mountain to the old Postrana and watch it from there while you dine on local food.
