After the noise and confusion of sprawling Salvador, this easy to reach beach house is idyllic. Looking out over the ocean with fresh trade wind breezes, it has a short sandy beach fronting a rocky reef, like many beaches north of Salvador. We walked into town for dinner and discovered a lively fishing community with great restaurants and grocery for supplying your own cooking needs. Everything worked in the house which was well-cleaned and the owners, who live on one corner of the property, were the perfect hosts.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

They call it Oasis, but I call it Mon petit coin de paradis. Having the luck to live in Bahia, I can say that I have already seen some of the treasure the Salvador area has to offer. But I have to say that Oasis is a very special place. It offers privacy in front of the beach, but it is also located close enough to the center of arembepe, which made it ideal whether we were in the party mood or in for more romantic peaceful moments. The place and the beach front are very kid friendly. We even got to start teaching the little one how to float in one of the warm natural pools on the beach. I loved my time there.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Every year my husband and I flee from the winter in New York City in search of warmth and a new adventure. This year we chose to stay in arembepe and found paradise. We rented the beach house for six weeks and loved just about everything during our stay. The beach house was clean and spacious, and located directly on the beach. The beach was wonderful. It is broad and goes on and on forever in either direction. Early in the morning, if it is low tide you will see the fishermen casting their nets in the water. During the week, the beach outside of the house feels like your own amazing water kingdom, with very few people about. On weekends and during carnival, the scene changes. The locals come out with their umbrellas and congas to relax in the sun, eat, drink and swim, and you realize how much fun being at the beach with other people can be. The town of arembepe is a sleepy beachside community. It is very safe. My husband and I walked through town at all hours of the night and never felt any fear. You will find a lot of people on bicycles in arembepe. The center of town had lively plazas and a decent selection of restaurants. On many nights, you could sit in the plaza, listen to live music, and watch people dance or the happy drunks singing along with the performers. The people in the town are laid back and very friendly. They tolerated my poor Portuguese with smiles. But loveliest of all were our hosts, Jason and adjoa, and their two small boys. They were the perfect hosts, thoughtful, warm and easy going.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

The oasis is a special place. The house is perched on a hill overlooking the tropical atlantic ocean. From the main bedroom you can see and hear the sea. The sound of the ocean fills the house and in the morning the temperature and calmness of the water will have you swminning before breakfast. The house itself is spacious, modern and has all you need. The outside has loads of places for relaxing and swinging in a hammock admiring the stunning views. There is a play area for children with swings and a tree house. Our hosts make you feel instantly at home and introduce you to the village, its attractions and hideouts. Arembepe is a magic place. Here you can get the sense of Brazilian village life and mix with the locals. We would recommend this house to everyone and Arembepe as a destination to explore the region and enjoy a unique experience; a taste of the real Brazil.Did you find this review helpful? We highly recommend this lovely beach house in the charming town of Arembepe, Brazil. Finding the house is easy: It’s surrounded by walls artfully rendered into a colorful, deep-ocean dreamscape by Arembepe’s local school children. The house is spacious and cool with high ceilings, and it includes all amenities, including WI-FI. It’s situated in a flowering garden with spectacular views of the ocean and access to the beach from the back yard! Our American hosts were laid-back, welcoming and delightful people. While there, they treated us to refreshingly cool coconut water, cut from their own trees! They also introduced us to Arembepe’s local Capoeira. We will definitely return!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

We returned to Salvador Bahia for a trip down memory lane, having lived there over 20 years ago. So much has changed since then. We found much progress and little order... But at Oasis arembepe we rediscovered the laid back living we had fallen in love with years before. The house had everything we needed and the location is perfect: beautiful views, direct access to a huge tidal swimming pool, fantastic unspoilt village within a ten minute stroll, great simple food at the beach shack nearby as well as the restaurants in town. And our hosts, Jason and Adjoa, were so kind and helpful: even sending a forgotten Iphone to us in England. This is the real, true Bahia!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0
