This apartment was perfect for our family(2 adults and 2 nine year old daughters). The apartment was just as pictured, truly adorable and functional. The neighborhood was amazing with great food at our doorstep. We stayed for 4 nights and walked to all the "must sees" in Rome. Miss Simona was incredibly helpful from offering dining suggestions to facilitating our very early morning transportation to the the airport. I would highly recommend this property and cannot wait to return!!

Great stay for our first few days in Italy. We had originally booked a hotel, but found this great little apartment on the vrbo website. Even with the cancellation fee, we still managed to save a bunch of money with a much better location and the ability to have breakfast on our own time with zero 'hotel traffic'. Very quiet on a backroad, the apartment was seconds from the metro station and minutes from the Colleseum and Forum. We were on the first floor which I thought might be noisy but turned out to be perfect as the window was the biggest and looked right over the quiet street. Kitchen was small, but everything worked perfectly and suited our breakfast needs. It was literally a perfect location for everything that we wanted to see in Rome. Only thing to know ladies, the hot water doesn't last very long so a 3 minute shower might be a long one.

We were fortunate enough to stay one week in this fabulous apartment, right in the heart of Monti. The location could not have been better, especially if you are history lovers like ourselves. The apartment is literally steps away from fabulous restaurants, views of the Forum and the Colosseo, a grocery store and the metro. The nearby fountain is a great place to just relax with a gelato or glass of wine. The apartment was immaculate, complete with all the amenities you would need for a couple to stay in Rome. The kitchen corner was small but effective for when we decided to eat in. The bathroom was clean, with plenty of hot water and great water pressure. Alessio and Miss Simona made everything so easy for our first trip to Italy. We had no problems at all booking the apartment over the Internet, and our driver was waiting for us the minute we walked off the plane. Miss Simona was incredibly helpful - even offering us advice on where to eat, what to see, and all the nearby amenities. We would definitely stay here again. If you are interested in the historical and active lifestyle of Rome, you'd be hard pressed to find anything better.

This apartment was super cute and a perfect place for our one week stay in Rome. The booking process was very easy and went quite smoothly and alessio answered all of my questions promptly. It is close to the colosseum and the metro stop which was extremely convenient. There is a grocery store close by which we utilized frequently. There are good restaurants on the street and gelato as well! Overall the stay was very pleasant. The decor is nice and the apartment was very clean. Thanks so much for a great vacation! :) will definitely be back!

My apartment was exactly as pictured, very clean and comfortable, as well as pretty. I will be staying there again. The driver they arranged for me was on time and a good driver in a clean car. The girl who helped me get settled in was sweet, polite and helpful when I messed things up. The kitchen was very important to me, had everything I needed and worked perfectly. I can't wait to come back.

The Owner was very prompt and efficient with dealing with our inquiries prior to our booking. Upon arrival we were welcomed by a very pleasant Assistant who helped in our settling into the apartment, and gave excellent advice regarding the area. The apartment was fantastic, with all conveniences as described, including coffee and basic cooking supplies. It was a good size, and met all our expectations. The location was excellent, with pastry shops and eateries at our doorstep. It was also the center of Rome tourist attractions, being a 10 minute walk from the Collessium, and a 2 minute walk to the Metro. We would definitely stay here again, and make the highest recommendation to others.

Very good apartment, located in the hurt of ancient Rome. The best restaurants are 5 minutes or less from the apartment. Decorated beautifully, with nice bath, good air condition. Its quiet (good windows) and cozy. The only draw down is the stairs leading to the apartment, which are steep, and the entrance door to the stairs but this how they build old houses there. The owner is very friendly, helpful and fair.

I have stayed 5 nights in this warm house with my family (2+2). We had great time. Very close to metro and colloseum. Nice restaurants around. You can shop in a good markets near by. We have been all popular places in rome by walking because the house is in very good location. The only consideration is the water heater.Nothing else. enjoy your stay in Angelis house. I was very much happy to stay there.

My husband and I stayed in Rome for a long weekend as a last holiday together before our first child is born in May. Being 24 weeks pregnant I was concerned I wouldn't be able to sleep in a strange bed and the apartment may not be that comfortable....I really didn't need to worry, the place was really modern and clean but with loads of character. The bed and apartment were really comfortable, we had all facilities we needed. It is also in a great location, we walked past the coloseum most days (literally 5 mins away), the metro is at the top of the street (easy peasy to get to and from the airport by train) and at the other end of the street is a great little cafe for breakfast along with various other reastaurants and bars (would recommend Cavour 313, in particular). Simona met us at the apartment and was really welcoming and helpful. I would certainly recommend this as a place to stay in Rome.

We stayed in the area near the Colosseum for one week in January 2012. Everything about the apartment was exactly as described or as it appeared in the photos; it was clean, comfortable, beautifully furnished, and well equipped with towels, sheets, and soaps. Upon exiting the metro station (a two minute walk from the apartment and only one stop from the Termini), we were met very quickly by the hostess who guided us to the apartment. Although there is no lift, the steps were in no way an issue. The apartment is practically around the corner from the Colosseum (quite a lovely thing to see when you turn the corner), yet the neighborhood is quiet and wonderful for walking to the sites or searching for dinner (some really good restaurants are nearby). For me, sleeping in European cities can be tough because of all the street noise, but due to the location off the main street it was very quiet at night. A grocery store is conveniently located across from the metro station, so even buying food or other items for the apartment is easy to do. Our hosts could not have been kinder or more helpful. Overall, we had a wonderful experience and would highly recommend this apartment to Roman travelers. We loved Rome (it is a fabulous city) and, when we return, we plan to stay in this apartment again. Thanks for helping to make our stay in Rome so lovely!

A friend and I rented this apartment for a week around Christmas time. We arrived and departed on different days and the owner was very accommodating when it came to setting up times for key pick up and arrival. Actually, there is a third person, who you pick up and return the keys to. The apartment itself is centrally located in the Monti area of central Rome. There are little cafes and bodegas within walking distance. One end of your street sits the metro (subway) and on the opposite end you can see the Coliseum (3 blocks walking). You really can't beat the location. It's a very safe area. The apartment is old but well preserved- like everything else in Rome. It's a little studio with kitchenette, dining area, bed, cable tv, closet and shower. This apartment is on the third floor so be ready to for some steps! Since it is an old apartment so be gentle with it. I think this place is perfect for couples, single travelers or close friends who are to sharing a small space. It did get a bit chilly at night even with the heat on. There is extra bedding in the closet to help keep u warm and be mindful to watch the hot water if multiple people are showering. Overall it was very pleasant. I would stay there again.

I stayed here and it was a very pleasant stay. I don't remember exactly what apartment it was but it was in the very old section of Rome near the Colosseum and the Forum. The house was on a cute street with not too much noise (not an alley either). The building is beautiful--over 500 years old. Everything is newly painted and had wood beams. It was very very clean while maintaining an old world feel. The bed was comfy, new bedding, pillows, and we loved having an area to cook. The floor could use a floor rug in the winter as the stone floor gets cold. It was a bit pricey, but most places are in Rome. The bathroom had new fixtures, great lighting, but even with a window, things stayed a bit damp. This was very minor. The neighborhood is local, so you can eat well without tourist prices and quality food. There are small boutiques as well. We walked to most places with the exception of Prati--you can walk (20 mins to via del Corso, 25 to Piazza Navona, 30 to Castle St. Angelo). It is close to things without a lot of tourist traffic. If you stay in some of the places closer to Navona while you are close to things, the noise at night can keep one up. 2 blocks from the Metro. There was local contact willing to help if we needed something or there was a problem.

Could not have asked for a better location in Rome. We were able to walk to everything except the Vatican and the train was only 100 Yds away. The apts (we rented 3 for 3 couples in their 60's) were exactly as described; clean, with everything required for 3 and 5 night stays. Alessio and Simona were outstanding. Every email and question was promptly answered and every promise kept. They arranged for our transportation from the ship and to the airport and it was perfect. Be aware, the apartments are all reached by steps, no elevator. Not a problem for us, but you should be prepared to carry your bags up some narrow steep steps. Numerous eating places right out the door and throughout the area. We all felt completely sate in the area at anytime of the day or night. The beds are somewhat hard which was not a problem for us, but one of our couples would have preferred softer. There is street noise, but with the windows shut and the fan on we heard nothing. All three couples would not hesitate to stay here again and to recommend to our friends.

The location was superb. It was extremely close to the Forum and Colosseum area (an easy 5 minute walk) and only a minute's walk from the Metro station. The accomodations were roomy and very comfortable and the new windows blocked all of the street noise. The wi-fi was a godsend. We found a great restaurant about 10 minutes away (Taverna de Monte) and ate there twice during our weekend stay. The only downside was the lack of a lift and we were on the 3rd floor with some big bags. But by tag teaming each bag, we had no issues moving in or out. Simona met us when we checked in and was very helpful in getting us oriented and making suggestions that helped us during our stay. We had the opportunity to meet Mr. Angeli when we checked out and found him to be a very warm and caring host. We would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to others.

This place is scant blocks from the forum and collesium. It is central to the pantheon and Spanish steps as well the the parks. You can walk anywhere, and there are a myriad of restaurants and shops in the area. Perhaps the best feature is the proximity to the metro. In 2 minutes you can hop a train to anywhere. The accommodations are quite nice. The air conditioning works, the plumbing works, and the rooms are clean. What more could you ask for. It's secure and convenient.

My Fiancé and I stayed at the Angelishouse in Rome. It was a wonderful experience from start to finish. Alessio was wonderful to deal with, and made the booking process a breeze. He was willing to answer any questions that I had. Our apartment was only a 5 minute walk from the Colosseum, and had some lovely restaurants along our street. Simona was excellent as well, showing us everything in the apartment and answered all of our last minute questions. The whole experience was great. We would love to come back for another visit and would love to stay with the owners of Angelishouse. Thank you for everything Alessio and Simona. It was so greatly appreciated.

For all you travelers who go to Rome and don't want to stay in a fancy hotel, this apartment is for you! My son and I stayed for 10 days and took day trips around Italy. It was wonderful... everthing you need is right there. The kitchen is equipped to cook and there is a wonderful grocery store within a short walk with everything you might want. We often bought wine, salami and cheese and went back to the apartment to sit out on the balcony and plan our next day. Everything is within walking distance and the Metro (which is very easy to navigate) is also just down the street. The colosseum and Roman forum are just a short walk away and a wonderful piazza with restaurants just a turn around the corner. Delicious gelato across the street and the most wonderful cappuccino and pastries! Miss Simona is extremely helpful and was always available for questions or directions. In addition, there is wi-fi in the apartment which made it possible to look up restaurants and also stay in contact with home and what was going on. The apartment is very clean and neat and as I said, you can walk to most places while in Rome. Don't miss the Colosseum, Roman Forum and Borgehese Gallery while you are there.... so many things to do and the shopping amazing! I am already thinking of my next trip back!

We are a family who rented 3 units of the apartment. We loved this apartment! Simona greeted us upon our arrival and showed us the units. She also arranged for our transportation to and from the airport. She was a very helpful hostess. The apartment is located near restaurants and is walking distance to the Forum and Colosseum. It is very close to the Metro station, but we walked to most places and never even took the Metro. Each unit sleeps two comfortably. We would stay here again if we ever returned to Rome.

My partner and I have just returned from 5 days in Rome and we stayed in the attic apartment. Simona was a helpful and very friendly host. The apartment is in a perfect position, and we cannot recommend it highly enough. We loved the restaurants nearby, the shopping, the gelato and our morning walks to get a fantastic coffee standing at the counter with the locals. The train station also could not be any closer. The apartment had everything we needed, and really made our trip in Rome so full of good memories. When we go back to Rome, we will be booking this apartment early. We spent a month travelling and it really was one of the best we found, and a great price. Thanks Simona, see you next time.

We loved our stay in the Roman Forum Palace. The neighborhood was extremely close to the major sightseeing of ancient Rome, and we were able to walk to every major area of Rome with ease. It was also super close the the metro line, which we didn't need to take because we like to walk. We felt very safe in this area. Simona arranged our transport from the airport and was there to greet us on an early Sunday morning, which was really fantastic. It took so much stress out the arrival! There was a bottle of wine waiting for us to sample, too! The apartment was small but perfect for two, and the furnishings and fixtures were very high quality. We would definitely stay again.

Best apartments we rented on our recent trip to Europe. Stayed 7 nights and were very happy. The property manager excelled both as a resource and a manager looking after us while we were there. This is the perfect place to stay when coming to Rome! Very clean and well maintained place. My wife and I stayed in the Attic apartment with the terrace which is very nice. We enjoyed sitting out there and relaxing at the end of the day! The place is in the heart of Rome. You feel more like locals staying here rather than tourist. There is a metro a block away very convenient (if you are going out early in the morning try to walk, the metro is extremely busy in the morning!) I can not say enough about the place I would recommend the place to anyone going to Rome. If we ever have the chance to come back we would definitely stay here again! There are some nice places just down the street. The cafe at the bottom entrance of the Cavour metro is great place for the morning. Two if the best restaurants in the city are right down the street off of Via della Madonna dei Monti: Taverna Romana has the best meatballs ever! and La Taverna dei Fori Imperiali has the best ravioli in the city!

This apartment was exactly what we were looking for when in Rome. It was private and not too expensive, but it was close to most of the attractions of Rome. This area of Rome, right near the Forum Romanum and the Colosseum, has lots of small restaurants with many young people walking around the cobblestone streets at night. It is right next to a metro station, though we walked everywhere. The apartment itself (we were in the top apartment) is on the small side, but perfect for two people and good value for the price. There is one combined living room / kitchen / bedroom, and a small bathroom. We spent all the time on the balcony though - there is nothing quite like the morning cafè while the sun is rising over the roofs! There are a lot of stairs, which is manageable though a bit of a hassle if you have kids / strollers etc. There is WiFi (a mixed blessing when on vacation!) and cable (which we did not use). The apartment was clean, including the bedclothes and towels. The manager was very helpful when we were trying to find restaurants / taxis etc, and I especially liked that she was available via text message! This is definitely a place I can recommend for someone who is traveling on a medium budget, and who wants privacy while traveling with friends (our friends rented the other apartments in the building so that we could hang out at night but have our own space). Thumbs up!

From beginning to end our experience with renting from Alessio and Simona was a positive experience. And above all it was EASY! This was our 1st time using VRBO and Alessio and Simona could not have been more helpful. Alessio was prompt with replies and thorough with his information. The room came as advertised (slightly better actually) and offered a more unique and authentic experience than staying in a hotel. After much searching we settled on the Roman Forum appartments because to stay within the heart of Rome we would have paid at least the same amount (often more) to stay at a hotel, and after visiting Italy several times now I have found it is much better to be in a situation like this than in a large hotel. Once the Pensione system in Italy was the best value, now I believe it to be apartments like this! The room was spacious and offered everything we needed. We had our own fridge and kitchenette which allowed us to stock up on fruit, cheeses and other munchies to cut down on costs. The bathroom was also huge (by Italian standards) and had a dedicated shower. We did have a problem with the shower drain, but Miss Simona came over to fix the problem right away and with no complaints. The room was clean, neat, well-appointed and the bed was pretty comfy. By the way, this is truly only a few minutes from the Metro (uncommon in Rome!) and also you can be at the entrance to the Coliseum or Forum in less than ten minutes if you walk fast! How is that for location? Simona and Alessio were very flexible with our dates and our meeting times, and everything worked out perfectly. My only pet peeve is that it is necessary to pay upfront in cash and also leave a large security deposit. I understand they need to protect themselves, but for many people who are used to paying by credit card this is an inconvenience to get that much cash in a foreign currency. But again, the overall experience was so great that this would not change our opinion of the rental! I recommend this apartment highly.

Highly Recommended. You really can't beat this place. We spent a week there in March and loved the location a block from a Metro train station, across the street from a great and cheap local restaurant, a gelato shop, a million pizzerias and cafes, an Irish pub if you need an English speaking enclave, etc. You're a quick walk from the Coliseum and Forum, and we found we could walk just about everywhere we wanted to go in 30-45 minutes - the Capitol, Trevi Fountain and Spanish Steps, Pantheon, Trastevere, Circus Maximus, Piramide, a billion beautiful churches, etc. The terrace is a fantastic addition - great place to hang out and enjoy the ambiance of being in an ancient beautiful neighborhood in Rome while having your morning coffee. The neighborhood feels local-ish while also being close to everything touristy. The service was great and straightforward, with Simona coming out several times during the week to help us with things, give advice on places to eat, etc. The place is clean, and has a small refrigerator and cooking area which we found to be completely adequate. It generally feels like you're staying in someone's comfortable little Roman apartment, rather than a sterile hotel. It's a cozy place - probably too small for more than 2, and up a few flights of stairs if that's an issue, but we loved it! Couldn't recommend it enough.

This trip was a first using VRBO. I have to say I was thrilled when we arrived! Alessio greeted us outside the Metro and welcomed us into his apartments. We were a group of 12, so we took the entire Palace. It was fantastic! After a quick orientation and tour of each apartment, we took a short walk around the neighborhood. We were given tips for getting around the area and where to find good deals and meals. The decor in each apartment was beautiful and very clean! We enjoyed our time here and put the local dining opportunities to good use. Great Kabab Shop a few doors down and we all loved eating at de Silvios (recommended by the owner). Great gelato located across the street (my kids favorite!) and yummy cafe with great morning treats a few steps away! Host was very friendly and available during our stay to answer questions and give tips. Convenience of metro and great shopping was just the icing on the cake! Thank you for a great way to experience Roma! After a trip to Trevi Fountain ... we will be back!!

The 3 of us, my husband and my 9 months baby girl, had a wonderful time in Rome. The apartment was excellent, just minutes away from the Coliseum, very clean, with a nice kitchen, and when we did the check-in Miss Simona gave us useful information about the supermarket and the restaurants. We had no problems reaching Fori Imperiali , just 5 minutes away , and The Spanish Steps only 15 minutes from the apartment. The area is very quite, and has all kinds of restaurants and trattorias not very expensive, for example one night we went at "La Cicala e la Formica", which was just on the other side of the street, and we payed nothing , but had a wonderful dinner. I am sure we'll come back to Rome, and we 'll definitely stay at The Roman Forum Palace , maybe next time we''ll try the attic apartment that Miss. Simona so kindly showed us . See you next time !!!! We loved it !!!

I usually try to stay at VRBOs when visiting a city, as they are often cleaner, nicer, and cheaper than hotels... so I have a lot of experience with VRBOs. This place is fabulous! The location is perfect, and one can walk anywhere in Rome with ease. Incredible to be minutes from the Colosseum or the Forum! Alessio also recommended some great restaurants in the area, and we found others on our own (try Ai Tre Scalini- excellent place!). The room we stayed in was the top room, which had a lovely terrace, perfect for morning coffee and toast. The space was small but completely adequate, and we were able to use the mini-kitchen easily. If I traveled to Rome again, I would definitely do my best to stay here!
Owner response:My greatest satisfaction is your satisfaction! I try to have the same point of view of my guests. The comfort of the house must be the first target, but I think that is not the only one. When I travel in other countries I like to test the loco lifestyle and food too (I detest any "touristic menu"). That' s why, I like to suggest my guests the same restaurants where I like to go with my family. Just good food at reasonable rates in a friendly atmosphere. Every year we also restore the property and trying to improve the confort of our guests. These are some news: · All the rooms have independent heating/air-conditioning system that can be set at your favourite temperature. · Roman Forum Palace is now equipped with free Internet, new plasma television, satellite, wood ceilings and “cotto / parquet” flooring. · All Roman Forum apartments are now equipped with large size double beds (orthopaedic mattress). Extra single bed (added in same room) or queen size sofa bed are available for extra people sleeping in same area (with a small exra charge). · Crib / baby cot is now available too (upon request, for free). We really enjoyed our stay at this apartment. It's in a very happening neighborhood. The colosseum is a short walk away and restaurants, pubs, markets, shops and the subway are just steps away. The apartment was very clean when we arrived and the woman who greeted us was very nice. The patio was perfect for coffee in the morning and a glass of vino at night. This is definitely a city apartment so it's very compact and the streets buzz at night but it all contributed to a very authentic Roman experience. There is no elevator and this unit is up 4 flights of stairs. We didn't mind but you may want to try one of the lower units if that could be a problem. We stayed in a 5 star hotel last time we visited Rome but this is the way to go!
Owner response:We are happy if you enjoied your stay. We just want you enjoy your holiday and love visiting Rome. Best Wishes and .....Arrivederci a Roma !

I've always stayed in hotels while traveling so I was nervous about trusting a strange website and an unknown apartment owner. But this apartment put all my anxieties to rest and exceeded all of my expectations. The location was amazing! On a small, safe side street with cute coffee, gelato and pizza shops and a beautiful outdoor fountain and hidden old beautiful church all steps from the door. Throw the windows open and hear real Italy on the cobblestone streets just below you. A one minute walk from the subway and several main streets makes transportation a breeze. Walk a few seconds to the end of the block and take in a great view of the Coliseum. The apartment itself was beautiful and clean and very well taken care of. If you twisted my arm and forced me to say something bad about it, it is a bit on the small side. But the quality, location and service more than made up for it. I emailed them a bunch of questions, and each one was answered quickly and courteously. I give this property my highest recommendation. Rent it and put your mind at ease. Jonathan NYC

A group of us rented all four apartments the first week of September, 2010. They were clean and comfortable and a great location to see all of Rome--the Metro being just a block away, and many of Rome's sights within walking distance. Like most apartments in Rome, you need good legs to go up and down the steps. There are a number of very good restaurants in the neighborhood, ang you get a great feeling of what it's like to live in Rome. A couple of the showers were a little difficult to manuever in, and the attic apartment's bathroom was a little small. All in all, the apartments are a great place to stay in Rome.

This studio apartment was perfect for us, big bed, nice kitchen, on the 2nd floor, TV, Wifi, beautiful bathroom with bathtub and shower and nicely appointed. The owners were extremely helpful. It is located in a great area with restaurants and stores ( on Corso) all around ...very close to important sites and not far from the Termini train station. Metro 2 blocks away. We loved it and would definitely go back.

We arrived late, but Elena was wonderful and patient with our check-in. The room was not huge, but had everything we needed for our stay, including guide books. The best surprise was the Colosseum, just blocks away! There is a metro subway just up the street, which you can ride across town for just 1 euro. We rode the subway to the Spanish Steps, and walked across town back to the apartment. If you like to walk, it is not hard at all; grab a map and go! Pack light--the stairs are steep....
