Tahoma house description

The perfect cabin to relax and enjoy all the Tahoe area has to offer. The cabin is a charming two bedroom, one bath home on the West Shore of Lake Tahoe. Enjoy some of the custom touches in the cabin like stainless steel appliances and custom concrete countertops. Our cabin in Tahoma is within several minutes of the lake, mountains and ski resorts. A private beach, pier and a charming local store are within walking distance. Homewood Ski Resort is just three miles away. And there is cross country skiing just up the road. Tahoma cabin is a perfect place to rest and relax and recharge. We love the Tahoe area and stay at our cabin at least once a month. The kids ride bikes, swim in the lake, fish, play in the yard or at the local park or one of their favorite things is to walk to the store for a treat. My wife and I have worked very hard to improve our residence and we are always changing things and making improvements as we continue to enjoy the Tahoma area. This is not just a rental to us, it is a home. Amenities: New queen size bed and bed frame in the master bedroom. Wooden bunk beds for the kids in the second bedroom. Love seat sofa bed in second bedroom that sleeps one. New Crate and Barrel queen size pull out couch in the living room. All sheets, blankets, bath towels and beach towels provided. Board games for family fun. TV/DVD and a collection of DVD's in the kids room. TV/DVD in the main room and wood burning fire place in living room. Fenced dog kennel in the backyard. Gas BBQ. Fully- equipped kitchen with everything for cooking. Private Beach and Pier within walking distance. Washer and dryer in bathroom. My wife and I believe in the take some leave some approach when it comes to kitchen supplies. There is pasta, canned foods, oil, sugar, cooking supplies and other food items in the kitchen. Please use what you need and if you have something you can leave in its place for the next person it will ensure the kitchen always has something for the next person. Above all we want everyone to enjoy their time on the West Shore of Tahoe. We have been returning to the area for the last 15 years only to fall in love more with the magic of Lake Tahoe.

Location, Location, Location. If you want the old Tahoe charm and want to stay away from the crowds this is your place. If hiking (Desolation Wilderness, Blackwood Canyon), ski/snowboarding (Homewood), backcountry ski/snowboarding (Mt. Tallac-Blackwood Canyon), snowmobiling (Blackwood Canyon) or beaches (Chambers, Sugar Pine, Meeks Bay, Emerald Bay) are your thing the best of them are in close proximity. My family and I have stayed here several times and plan to continue coming back. With an updated kitchen and WiFi for the kids this quaint Tahoma Cabin delivers as promised. On top of it all we find the price to be very affordable leaving more money for activities around the lake.

We stayed here for a snowy weekend and loved it. The cabin looks cute in the photos, and is even cuter in person! It's been recently updated (great kitchen) and feels very clean and cozy. Well appointed - we found everything we needed. The location is wonderful. The owner was very helpful and great to work with. We can't wait to come back again.

My boyfriend and I stayed here 3 nights in January 2014 - a winter in which there has not been very much snow at Tahoe. We knew that going in, though, so we were OK with it. The Cabin was easy to locate and definitely as advertised. It was cozy, and it had all the amenities we needed. We arrived with food and made extensive use of the kitchen during our stay. I did not realize that there was no network television (or if there was, we couldn't figure out how to get it), so we trekked back to a local pub to watch the 49ers. We took advantage of the DVD player, the firewood, the books and information on local activities. And we did get in a great day of skiing at Alpine Meadows. The only thing we found odd was that the thermostat for the cabin's heater was on the wall in the larger of the two bedrooms - almost directly under the vent delivering the warm air. It meant there was usually a temperature differential as we strove to keep the living space warm or the bedroom cool. Nevertheless, we'd definitely opt to stay here again and give it our recommendation.

In August 2013, I had an opportunity to spend 4 weeks visiting Lake Tahoe. Thanks to the VRBO website, I rented the Vanderlind's Tahoma cabin. Upon arrival, I found the cabin to be clean, very well maintained, comfortable, and welcoming. The photos are an accurate representation of the property. The kitchen is fully equipped and the bedrooms and living room are homey, relaxing, airy, inviting spaces. The owner's are extremely helpful, and really go the extra mile to ensure their guests' stay is a positive experience. If you like to hike, bike, swim, and paddle, well then, the west shore is, indeed, the best shore! The location is ideal for those looking to "get away from it all", while still being convenient and accessible to the rest of the Lake Tahoe community. I will definitely return and recommend you book this property for your Tahoe vacation, too!

Dittos to all prior reviews, spot on. Nice and quiet, especially late into morning hours for great sleep opportunity. Great location for the outdoors with Sugar Pine State Park right up the street. If you enjoy mountain biking then you can find short cut at end of Timberworlf Dr. you can find a back door entrance to a fantastic mountain bike trail up General's Creek. A short bit of singletrack, then fire road for awhile, then even better single track. We also enjoyed Angora Lakes paddleboarding. Other nearby sights include D.L. Bliss and Emerald Bay and Eagle Falls hike and Blackwood Canyon cycling. West Shore Tahoe at its best!

My husband, our daughter and my sister loved our stay in this Tahoma cabin. We bonded over a jigsaw puzzle (no missing pieces:-) and root beer floats at night and enjoyed a sailboat ride on beautiful Lake Tahoe and a long Granite Wilderness hike. This cabin is in a nice, quiet neighborhood with friendly people and dogs. As others have mentioned, the cabin is well-stocked, nicely decorated and conveniently located. It was very relaxing!

Our family of 4 adults and 2 dogs enjoyed our stay immensely. The cabin was fully stocked, clean and very convenient to skiing, lake and stores. The owners were quick to respond with questions and very helpful and kind. On a side note, the water pressure amazing with hot water at all times!!! :) We will make this our annual skiing trip cabin for sure! What a lovely trip we had!

We had a great experience staying at this cabin. Its furniture, kitchen utensils and appliances are all updated. It is all extremely clean and the owners provide all you need in terms of linens, blankets and towels. It's walking distance to an excellent grocery store and Homewood is also close by. It worked perfectly for our group of 5 - a couple with 2 small kids and their uncle, who shared the second bedroom with the kids.

              Year Purchased: 2010

About the owner: Growing up in the Bay Area, I always enjoyed the Tahoe area for skiing, fishing and camping. When I met my wife, I knew we would enjoy the Tahoe area together. During one of our first trips to the West Shore of Tahoe, I asked my wife to marry me on the shore of Lake Tahoe. During our engagement we continued to come to the West Shore of Lake Tahoe, due to a friend owning a cabin in Homewood. As we explored the West Shore, we decided to have our wedding at the West Shore Cafe' in Homewood in 2001. After ten years of marriage and two children we were finally able to fulfill our dream of owning a property in Lake Tahoe. Due to our love of the West Shore we knew there was no other choice, but to purchase a property in Tahoma. We love to share everything the West Shore in Lake Tahoe has to offer.

              Why the Owner Chose Tahoma:
The West Shore of Lake Tahoe not only hold a special place in our hearts, but the saying 'The West Shore is The Best Shore' is true. We love Sugar Pine State Park, the bike trails, Homewood, the lake, skiing, hiking and the community. You can get everywhere on a bike using the paved bike trails just down the road.

The Unique Benefits at this House:
This is not someones old cabin. We have made the effort to make the stay as nice as possible. With new appliances, custom concrete counter top, almost all new furniture and beds. A complete kitchen fully stocked kitchen, new linens and bath towels. It is a short walk to Sugar Pine State Park or the private Beach just down the road. You can also walk to the PDQ Market, pizza parlor or Coffee and Gel Lotto. Homewood Ski resort is just minutes away.
