Williams house description
This is a home that is truly conducive to just relaxing and enjoying the natural surroundings and views. We built this large 2,300 square foot custom home to enjoy the western sunsets and natural surroundings. It has beautiful hand scraped solid hardwood floors throughout, and has modern amenities combined with a touch of old reclaimed accents.
Our home features a large, fully equipped entertainment kitchen, with modern appliances, and a lot of granite countertop space and a large central oak table for cooking preparation and gathering. There is also a convenient laundry closet with a washer and dryer.
The great room has 16' vaulted ceilings with a large ceiling fan, Plasma TV and DVD player above the fireplace mantle and a collection of classic and modern DVDs, a rustic stone wood burning fireplace, a built-in bookcase with a selection of books, and a dining area. French doors lead to the outside deck with a built in barbeque island, and stunning views overlooking the western horizon, great for gatherings and viewing the spectacular sunsets.
There are four large, roomy bedrooms. The master bedroom includes a king size bed, a beautiful wood burning raised fireplace adding to the peaceful ambiance, French doors leading to the deck outside and more views of the horizon, and a TV and DVD player. The master bathroom includes luxuries such as a spa tub, a large separate Travertine shower with a frameless glass enclosure, and Travertine floors and tile. The second bedroom includes a queen size bed, with access to deck and views. The third bedroom includes two twin beds, and has mountain views. The shared bathroom is Country French with a claw foot tub and marble floors. The fourth bedroom is a large private studio upstairs above the den and is 500 square feet with a separate full bathroom. The studio includes two double beds, couch, chair and dinette, and a small kitchenette with mini fridge, microwave and sink.
The living room, master bedroom and second bedroom open onto the expansive deck. The deck includes a built in barbeque island, and below the deck is a large circular flagstone patio with a fire pit in the center, great for gatherings and star gazing (please note that fire restrictions may apply during dry seasons).
During the summer months the temperature is usually moderate, however the home includes central air conditioning if needed, and is also equipped with central heating for cold winter days.

- Our hidden gem is situated on 6 acres in the Northern Arizona High Country near Williams, AZ, off of highway 64 (the road to the Grand Canyon). When you turn off highway 64, you enter onto a country gravel road and for the next 1.5 mile drive to our home, you might see elk, deer, free range horses, javalina, coyotes, jack rabbits, and other wildlife that remind you that you're in the beautiful Arizona high country and are surrounded by nature. When you approach our home on the hill, you will be able to see for miles across the westward horizon. Then step inside the home to a bit of rustic luxury. Our home is centrally located to the Grand Canyon, Flagstaff, and Williams. Williams is located about 20 minutes away on the famous route 66 and has a variety of diners, restaurants and shops. Williams is also the home of Bearizona, the Deer Farm, and the Grand Canyon railway station The Grand Canyon Railway offers the classic steam train to the south rim of the Grand Canyon, the Pumpkin Patch train in October, and Polar Express in the winter. The south rim of the Grand Canyon is only 40 miles north on highway 64. Flagstaff, home of Northern Arizona University, is 25 miles East. Also nearby is Sedona with red rock scenery and hiking trails. And the Snow Bowl ski resort is nearby for winter snow skiing. If you want to venture further, you can visit the old mining town of Jerome, or the historical town of Prescott. Or, if you would prefer to stay close to home, you can fish and canoe on Kaibob Lake just 15 minutes from the property, hike in the surrounding area, and view sunsets and star-filled nights off the expansive deck....moreless

The house is great have everything we need, luxary. Owner is very nice and easy to work with. Internet had problem while we stay because of storm and run out of propane gas, but no big deal. The direction to the house may be too detail since there is no road sign, basically stay on the road after making the turn after the gas station until seeing the cedar mountain sign.

Owner response: Hi Wing, Thank you for the kind review, we're glad you found our home luxurious. The weather sometimes does affect the internet service in the rural areas but hope you took advantage of the down time to enjoy the natural surroundings and relax a little. And thanks for letting us know about the barbeque propane, all of our guests must be really enjoying outdoor cooking on the deck. We are filling it immediately. We hope you come visit again.
We (group of five) had a wonderful experience. The house is both larger and nicer than it looks in the pictures. The kitchen is large with an enormous wood island (table) that makes group food preparation fun. The house feels private, well designed, well-cared-for, and fun. There are wood fireplaces inside with a gas starter. There is a nice fire pit outside as well, but it was quite windy (gusty) during much of our visit, and we didn't feel comfortable with an outdoor fire in a dry area with high winds. There is a wind farm visible from the deck in addition to hills and beautiful sunsets. The place wasn't missing anything (except larger size dinner spoons and a large skillet or wok). The house was also in great shape (except for a couple of minor damaged items like the refrigerator door handle and a wall corner). It was very inviting, and we immediately felt that we wanted to move in permanently. The Grand Canyon is a solid hour north (we went 3 times), Flagstaff is an hour east, and Sedona is another 30 minutes south of Flagstaff. The house is in a nice location if you plan to visit several of these location in the area. The house is 5-10 minutes off the main road down a sparsely developed subdivision with dirt roads on a private section of road. My group was very happy with me for finding this place. Highly recommended.

Fun in the snow
Fun in the snow
We spent three nights at this beautiful cabin near Williams, AZ. The cabin had everything we needed and was the perfect size for our family. With kids and grand kids, we had a total of nine people and there was plenty of room for everyone. The owners were incredibly nice and easy to work with. They went out of their way to ensure we had a great time. We had plenty of snow so the kids had a blast making a snowman and sledding down a small hill outside the cabin. I would highly recommend this cabin to all my friends and intend to visit here again in the future. A big thank you to the owners!

Labor Day Stay
Labor Day Stay
Dana and Loran's home was beautiful, wonderfully equipped and located in a pristine setting. All listing information is accurate, and the pictures, as great as they are, don't do justice to this home. The property was sparkling, well maintained, and the owners were kind enough to do things like leave bottled water just in case we didn't bring enough. They provided directions and answered our questions throughout as needed. If I were going to return to this area of the country, my family would definitely stay here again. The Grand Canyon is less than an hour away, the town of Williams was fun and Sedona was only a short distance as well.

About the owner: We are a family of seven, with extended family in three states, and we have a very very busy lifestyle. We look forward to getting away and simplifying our lives, even for just a short time on extended weekends. Hiking, searching for old relics or interesting rocks, and taking in the sights recharges us to tackle our routines back home.
Why the Owner Chose Williams:
We bought this property because we fell in love with the wide open spaces of northern Arizona, the wonders of the Grand Canyon and other local surroundings and destinations, and the old-fashioned charm of Williams and route 66.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
We built the home to capture the fantastic westward sunset views, and to provide a place for our large family to get away from the hustle and bustle of daily routines, and gather together in a simpler environment. Although all of the rooms are large, we wanted to make the home feel cozy, so we added custom finishing touches throughout the house. Our favorite features in the living area are the stone fireplace, built-in bookcase, and reclaimed wood beam accents and other reclaimed features. To bring character to the modern kitchen, we added a custom-built stove hood, reclaimed light fixtures, and a 10' long antique table reclaimed from an old church that we now use as an island for cooking preparation or just simply to gather around. We added an old-fashined reclaimed claw foot tub into the guest bathroom, and decorated with a touch of old country French style. The master bedroom includes a fireplace accented with reclaimed tile and wood. Wood moldings, wood windows, solid wood doors, and wood floors throughout the house add to the cozy charm that we wanted to achieve.
