  Just returned from a weekend away at this Swordfern Creek Retreat and am stuggling to find criticisms. The owners were helpful and quick to respond with bookings and inquiries, place was clean and well maintained and for the amount of people you can comfortable sleep, very reasonably priced. I think the pricing reflects the fact that you need to walk to the beach but there are many nice little spots very close by and they are all seperated so it's easy to feel like you are at your own private place. The highlight for us was the two large decks and the fire pits which is where almost all of our time at the place was spent. A good upgrade would be a little more landscaping in the back as it was a little awkward getting firewood from the trucks in the driveway to the fire pit but it wasn't a big deal. Overall, great place to get away for the weekend to enjoy the area, all the guests including myself commented a few times over the weekend how much we'd like to come back when time permits.

  We arrived at this Youbou property for a three night stay. There were four adults and three children and the sleeping arrangements worked out perfectly with the number of bedrooms and types of beds but a few complaints would be that the pillows on most of the beds and the futon on the lower level were not very comfortable and the bedding and blankets could have used a good cleaning. There was also no hookup for the DVD player. When we arrived the photos accurately reflected the rental's appearance but the toilets and fridge could have been a lot cleaner. We loved the fire pit on top of the hill and overall the house was beautiful. The front and back patios were so inviting and we enjoyed our morning coffees and our meals out there. A short walk down the street and a bit of bushwacking got us to various trails that led us to many private beaches. We also enjoyed Arbutus Park which had a nice beach and park for the kids. I would definitely recommend this property to a friend or relative. Angie was so helpful in answering all my questions before we showed up at the property and she went over everything once we arrived. I would not hesitate to book this property again.
