Moloaa Bay is a small, secluded community on the northeast shore of Kauai. The beautiful crescent shaped bay is a peaceful hide-away, relatively undeveloped and unknown to most visitors. Close to everything but far removed from the hustle and bustle of tourist areas, it is 15 minutes south to Kapaa and 15 minutes north to Princeville and Hanalei.
Private and uniquely situated on one acre, with ocean, garden and mountain views, you will sleep to the sound of the waves in this 400 sq. ft. guest house. Separate from the main house with its own private entry, your house sits behind two multi-million dollar oceanfront homes that are rarely occupied. It is just a few steps to swimming and snorkeling and reef walking at the uncrowded beach.
Private stairs lead up to your beach house, which is 13 ft. in the air and has a large lanai with ocean and milky way night time views. Inside, it has high open beam natural wood ceilings, with ceiling fans and lots of windows. This house is very comfortable, light-filled and spacious with a California king-size bed, partial kitchen, all tile floors, and large bathroom with granite counter top vanity and full glass two person shower. The beach house has a low allergen environment.
The decor transports one to another time, another place in paradise. There is a partial ocean view from all rooms except the bathroom. Ideal for couples who like nature, privacy and the sea.

Why the Owner Chose Moloaa Bay
My consort Michael (being a world traveler) chose this spot because it was the most beautiful place he had ever seen. It is equidistant between the two ends of the one road that goes 3/4 of the way around the island of Kauai. It is also between the dry side and the wet side so it has advantages of both. We like to keep it a secret.
The Unique Benefits at this House
Our property simply is Perfect - a few steps from the beach but one lot back so there is privacy. One can hear the sea and there is a nice partial view but total privacy. Even though it is isolated, it is near everything one needs or wants and it is away from the hustle and bustle.
The rental is one lot back from the sea - one can view and hear the waves.
Owner's Map of Moloaa Bay
Kauai is my favorite place on the earth but I love to travel everywhere. In fact I love to travel so much that I may not be home when you visit. When I am here I am in my art studio and I love to meet my renters and afford them info on the island if they desire. Otherwise they are left in exquisite privacy.

Moloa'a Bay Beach House was the best part of our Hawaii vacation. Joey and I needed some quiet, relaxation time away from the hustle and bustle of life. We found it here!! We loved every moment of it and there is no possible way to list all the things we enjoyed there. Being on stilts was great, mosquitoes were limited, views & solitude were increased, and we enjoyed listening to unfamiliar sounds and determining what they were. Our favorite sound was the falling coconut! The night skies were simply amazing and unobstructed from city lights. It was rather tranquil to fall asleep and wake up to the intensity of the waves. The Beach House had everything you needed to make any meal. The bed & chairs were all comfortable, I know, I tried them all! Location was rather centrally located and convenient for travel to all areas around the island. The fruit stand at the end of the road was divine! We were so glad to be able to take the time to enjoy each other, with no interruptions from cell phones, TV or others. Ahhh, I think I am done reminiscing, I want to go back! Jude & Michael were very gracious and accommodating. They truly have a small slice of heaven. Jude & Michael, thank you so much for having your beach house available for rent. I have told several friends about our stay, don't be surprised if you start getting more Alaska guests! Our next stay on Kauai will be entirely at the beach house. Mahalo! Joey & Brett
Owner response:It was my pleasure to have both of you as guests. Thank you.

We will always remember our perfectly magical stay at the Moloa’a Beach House! Jude thought of everything – from CDs, to candles on the lanai, to fresh Hawaiian flowers on the table, to towels to wipe the rain off the patio furniture, to beach umbrella, boogie boards, beach chairs and beach towels. The place was immaculate and beautiful, as shown in the photos. Since we are both very sensitive to chemicals and strong fragrances, the low allergen environment was a great relief to us. The towels and sheets were unscented, and the California king-size bed’s fabulous natural mattress was an absolute pleasure. Supremely quiet evenings on the lanai, listening to the song of the ocean so close by, we watched the moon growing to full. Calm, quiet, profoundly relaxing, all our needs were met or surpassed! Jude was always available, yet we had total privacy. We couldn’t have dreamed of a more beautiful and peaceful place to stay on Kaua’i. If you desire calm, quiet and low-key, this is the place for you. Mahalo Jude! We hope to meet Michael when we return next year!
Owner response:It was my pleasure. Thank you so much.

"Sleep to the Sound of the Waves" is a truly accurate title for this lovely, relaxing, and peaceful cottage. The ocean waves do lull you to sleep at night after a day of exploring beautiful Moloa'a Bay Beach - our favorite beach in Kauai. Jude and Michael are so welcoming and helpful and they provide you with everything that you could possibly need - even a coffee bean grinder for your Kauai coffee. The cottage is meticulously clean and decorated beautifully in Hawaiian style with special touches that just add to the ambiance. We loved exploring the spectacular sights in Kauai but we also enjoyed returning "home" to this wonderful little cottage at the end of the day! Thank you so much for your hospitality, Jude and Michael! We hope to return soon to your paradise in Moloa'a Bay!

I honestly have never enjoyed a place as much as this lovely beach house, and I've traveled extensively all over the world. The space is so well designed and has everything I look for in a retreat - tranquility, lush surroundings, luxurious bathroom, comfortable bed, convenient kitchen appliances, steps away from the most beautiful beach and the warmest, most accommodating hosts. Thank you, I can't wait to come back!
Owner response:Thank you Oksana! It is all true... every word of it... I swear.

My wife and I stayed here for the first time in January 2010 and it was perfect for us. The rental was very clean and comfortable and the beach was just perfect. This was our first trip to Kauai and we could not have picked a better place. We saw most of the major resorts/condos on the island and we were so glad we did not stay in one of those. It just made us appreciate the Moloaa beach house that much more. Jude and Michael were very gracious. They let you have complete privacy, but are only a phone call away if you need anything. We will definitely be returning in the future. Mahalo!!!!!!

We will soon be returning to the beach house at Moloaa for the third year in a row. If this isn't a sound endorsement, then I am not sure what is! We have travelled the globe and have found Kauai such a compelling place to visit that we have returned to the island again and again, for two plus weeks at a time, when we can. Why the same rental for these past 3 years? Well, in our humble opinion there is NO better place in Kauai for those who enjoy the seclusion of a gorgeous beach with few visitors, and a really well appointed, comfortable and spacious studio, which is just a few short steps to the water. The waves will lull you to sleep every night, especially after a long day of hiking, or an even more tiring day of reading a book on the secluded beach. The lanai is large and well positioned, with a BBQ and space for moonlit dinners. It's a divine spot and very well priced for the location. The owners, Jude and Michael, are wonderful, thoughtful hosts, who will help make your stay very special indeed. An added bonus of being so close to the beach- no roosters, compared to the plethora that fill the inland areas of the valley! If the idea of a crowded nameless resort with a bar next door, together with internet and room service is your thing, this is NOT the place for you. Aloha J&M! We cannot wait to return next month.

The Beach House is an incredible experience - Nothing will ever be the same after spending a week in Moloaa at the Beach House. I will miss my meals on the beautiful Lanai and nightly walks on the beach. I will miss the beautiful flora and the birds and all the colors of the tropics. I will miss the magical King size bed. I will miss the shower experience in the lovely bathroom. I will miss relaxing on the chaise. I will miss the light refreshing rains and the cool tradewinds...... But most of all I will miss your generosity and great spirits and making me feel so welcome. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Since the moment I got here this place has taken my breath away, stolen my heart and left me speachless.... as you have done to me twice by sharing your hale with us. This hale was uplifting for the spirit and the soul. It is so much more than we ever expected. Between the sound of the ocean, the bird sounds in the morning and the millions of stars at night we had a wonderful experience and will be taking back many wonderful memories and a bit of sand. We greatly appreciate your generosity and for making us feel like "Ohana."

We stayed at this idyllic spot for a week just before Christmas ’07.The bungalow was clean and spacious with everything we required for a comfortable stay. The kitchen is small, but perfect for two and the BBQ on the large Lanai was all we needed. The modern washroom is large with a beautiful slate and glass shower for two. The guest house is in front of the home so there is an unobstructed view of the foliage, flowers, avocado tree and water. We traveled the entirety of the Island and we found Moloaa Bay to be by far the nicest beach. On Moloaa the most people we saw were a family of six and the least was just two (us). Very private and safe. The days on Kauai would start with a swim, then we would driving from adventure to adventure with the nights at the beach house. Every night you fall asleep to the sound of the waves and the chirping of the geckos. We will return to the ‘Garden Island’ and we will stay at this location exclusively.Highly recommended to those who seek calm, quiet settings in a tropical paradise.
