Casa Chisinche, a stunning hacienda house located on Ruminahui Mountain’s slope, is an ideal place to rent for a wonderful family vacation. It is just one hour away from northern and historical downtown Quito. Getting there is quite simple. The house is on a one hundred year old hacienda. It’s design is that of a typical Spanish colonial house, including a beautiful fountain in the middle of the plaza. The house is a very spacious two story building and can accommodate up to 12 people in 5 bedrooms and 2 and a 1/2 bathrooms. Every room is tastefully and comfortably furnished. It has two chimneys to warm you at night, one in each living room. The living room on the second floor has a DVD player, a DVD library and board games. The kitchen is very roomy and has all the necessary equipment. Washing and drying machines are also available as is an internet WiFi connection. Our house is also child friendly as it has a variety of toys and a garden to play in.
The hacienda has horses and cows. The milking is a fascinating process that can be witnessed every day very early in the morning and in the afternoon. The hacienda is very extensive and exploring it by taking long walks is a must. The town of Machachi is about 10 minutes away and groceries and other supplies can be found there.
It is half an hour away from Cotopaxi, the world’s tallest active volcano. Five minutes away is the famous restored railroad and train station built by one of Ecuador´s most prominent presidents Eloy Alfaro. Right next to the station is the “Estación” restaurant where traditional dishes are served. Also five minutes away is the famous “Café de la Vaca” (Cow’s coffee), where the breakfasts are made from the various products obtained from freshly milked cows, a traditional custom of Ecuadorian haciendas. The hacienda is about an hour and a half from Baños de Agua Santa in the Tungurahua Province, a tourist hotspot due to the medicinal thermal waters and the spectacular sightings of Tungurahua volcano.
Transport from the airport or any place in northern Quito can be arranged with anticipation at an extra cost depending on the distance. Additional tour information can be provided.
