My husband and I spent our Honeymoon here and everything about SeaHaven Villa made our stay feel magical! We especially enjoyed the secluded area and almost completely private bays in the area. The snorkeling was amazing, we saw sea turtles, dozens of species of fish, and giant star fish just like the photo above! Star gazing at night in the hammock was unforgettable, and it was so nice coming home to the villa after long days of hiking and swimming on the island to grill fresh fish on the balcony and listen to the sea. This home is equipped with everything you need to have a perfect vacation and we truly could not have asked for more. The owners were wonderful to work with and very helpful, along with the poperty manager, they made everything easy and carfree, just the kind of experience you are looking for when trying to relax! Thank you so much for everything, we can't wait to come back!Recommended for: Girls getaway, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with teenagers.

Our family of six (four kids of all ages) spent a week at this home in late June, 2010. The home is in a remote location, in fact it is the last home on the island as far east as you can go. Getting around the island really isn't that bad. We did not have a four wheel drive, and we did fine. It's about forty five minutes to Cruz Bay (with lots of restaurants and complete grocery shopping, and fifteen minutes to a few restaurants and limited grocery shopping. The privacy here is fantastic. We had the entire bay to ourselves the whole week. The beach is pebbles, not sand. The snorkeling is fantastic, and we are picky snorkelers so that's really saying something. We saw a wide variety of marine life, including squid, lobsters, large schools of tangs, damsels, and a variety of corals. It was a little too rough for snorkeling the last two days we were there. The pool is TINY but the kids didn't care. It kept them entertained for hours. The home is comfortable, with great views, a kitchen we cooked great meals in, and an extensive video collection. Every night was movie night! Outside, mosquitos were quite a nuisance, but that was the case all over the island and not the fault of this property, but it made hanging outside on the deck not so desirable, at least not without bugspray. We learned pretty quickly to have a can of bugspray on hand at all times, even when traveling to different beaches (get out of the car, and start spraying!). Our only complaint about this property is the showers. The faucet is the kind that shuts off by itself after about four seconds. So to shower, you have to either hold down the knob with one hand, or press it every four seconds. The water is barely hot and comes out as little more than a trickle. We understand that it's a dry island, water is trucked in or is collected rain water, very expensive, and perhaps the owners did what they could to discourage long showers. It worked! We dealt with it, but a nice soothing shower after a day at the beach was a creature comfort that was sorely missing. All in all, this is a fantastic property with stunning views, easy ocean access, and luxurious privacy. The owners and property managers were a pleasure to deal with. We would come back, and recommend this property to others.Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with teenagers.
Owner response: Great news for future travelers to Seahaven. Even though this review rating was a 5 out 5, we know we can always make improvements and we wanted you to know we have adjusted the shower faucets to greatly increase the flow and the hot water. Water is still very much a premium on the island but this little compromise has helped make the showers a lot more enjoyable.

We thoroughly enjoyed our weeklong stay at Seahaven. The house is beautiful, well-maintained, and comfortable. We loved the privacy of the location, and we had the beach completely to ourselves. The views are amazing. The drive from Cruz Bay is scenic and fun, with overlooks, goats, rainbows, etc. Some restaurants, bars, and stores are even closer to the house, in nearby Coral Bay. We highly recommend Seahaven!Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with teenagers.

My husband and I stayed at Seahaven with two of our best friends, and it was a great trip! We had the most relaxing week! We loved how secluded and private the house is. It is truly an oasis. It epitomizes "paradise." The trip began with a beautiful ferry ride to St. John. Once on the island we rented a car and enjoyed the scenic route to the house. Along the way we enjoyed breathtaking views, friendly wildlife, and fun restaurants and bars. We were blown away by the expansive views at the house. It seemed like you can see forever on the porch and from nearly every room in the house. The house is well appointed with comfortable furnishings, a kitchen we cooked some great meals in, and a video library that rivals Blockbuster. We spent our week snorkeling in the bay below the house, hiking, and finding hidden spots on the island. The best part of the trip was that we "got away from it all." The four of us work in high stress jobs, and to relax in such a serene part of St. John was amazing. We weren't ready to leave when we did, and we've decided to return back every few years. From two couples who have traveled to Mexico, Europe, Costa Rica, and beyond, St. John and Seahaven have spoiled all future trips because there's no way another place can feel as magical.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway.

Our family has stayed at Seahaven several times and absolutely love it. The Villa is located just above a very private beach. We love the privacy afforded by the fact that the home is one of only a handful of homes built so far in a private homeowners association that is 15 minutes from the nearest "town". The winding drive from town is one of the most scenic drives in the Virgin Islands with views of the Bristish Virgin Islands from the top of ridges one minute and breathtaking beach views driving right along the water the next. Very few "tourists" make it out to the East End making it like being on a deserted island most days. We have stayed at Seahaven several times and each time Privateer Bay Beach was calm and offered some of the best snorkeling in the islands. We can't wait to go back.Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with teenagers.

The home is beautiful, exactly as described, very clean. Interactions with owners went smoothly. The caretaker was helpful. The home is located just above a very private beach. We found two disadvantages of this property 1. It was very time consuming to travel anywhere from this property. Although the distances are not far in miles, driving on the very hilly roads goes slow and can be adventurous. (Although we reserved a 4 wheel drive auto; we ended up with Corolla and this may affect our driving experience). 2. The lovely beach at the property was too rough for snorkeling during our stay. This beautiful, isolated, property is best for adventure seekers.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, romantic getaway.
