We arrived at the cozy little cabin Friday afternoon and were greeted by about 30 deer. When we entered the cabin it was the cutest little place we had ever seen. There was everything we needed to in the kitchen to make two amazing meals , although it is a samll kitchen we didnt mind it at all. That just ment only one of us had to do dished. The beds were comfortable and the fact that there were enough towels for 20 instead of just the 4 of us was a plus! Be cautious of the hot tub! Once we got in it was hours befor we were able to pull our selves out. The owners were amazing to work wih and were prompt to answer any questions we had about the cabin befor, during and after we booked. We had such a good time that 2 of us are coming back in March for spring break and bringing our kids! Thank you for allowing us to rent your great cabin!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, romantic getaway, girls getaway, families with young children.

This cabin was a great time and a great price. The owner was very helpful and easy to reach. The property was very clean and everything was in good working order and was very comfortable especially the sheets! We really enjoyed the fire pit and hot tub (it takes a while to heat up and doesn't have a digital temp so be careful when you turn it up to "max heat" b/c it may have been 105+ when we did that-very hot). The descriptions were accurate as well as the photos. This is not a large cabin but is very cozy. The stairs were very steep (be careful w/ kids) but the open floor plan loft upstairs is just perfect to sleep 4. I wouldn't suggest taking your Mercedes as Rattlebox Drive is a gravel road but that was certainly part of the charm. This cabin is about a 15 minute drive to Helen which has a lot to do. I suggest the Nachochee Grill for dinner but don't be surprised if they are sold out of most of the menu selections and have to close by 7:00p on a Sunday because they don't take reservations. Also, make it a point to stop at the IGA (grocery store) if for no other reason then to see their amazing collection of antiques and sample their great Wisconsin cheese. Brasstown Bald is about an hour drive but is not something you want to miss while up there as it's the highest point in GA and they have an amazing visitor center at the summit. We will definitley be back to Mount Allen cabin, thanks!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Mount Allen was exactly what we needed for our weekend getaway. A lovely, quiet and relaxing place to come back to after hiking, visiting the sights of Helen and exploring the area. The cabin was exactly as described and pictured and felt like home away from home. Clean and well kept with lots of ammenities. We thoroughly enjoyed the hot tub under the starlit sky and full moon. The owner was a pleasure to deal with and I would definitely recommend a stay at Mount Allen!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway, families with young children.

This was a very nice property. It's far off the beaten trail on a unpaved road. There are neighbors but you really have plenty of room to yourself around the cabin. I will definitely be back.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, adventure seekers, pet owners, romantic getaway, girls getaway, families with young children.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Mount Helen! The cabin is exactly as described plus some. I was very pleased with our interaction with the owner, she answered all of our questions quickly. The cabin was clean and comfortable. We loved the comforts of home, such as a fully supplied kitchen, satellite tv, a grill, and lots of towels. The hot tub was really nice, we especially enjoyed it after our hikes. The location is great - you can easily get to Helen. I highly recommend this cabin!Recommended for: Age 55+, girls getaway, families with young children.

We had a fantastic time at Mt. Allen! Michelle was fantastic and attentive to work with. The cabin is absolutely beautiful and we enjoyed every minute of it. It is very close to Helen and Cleveland (which makes it easy to catch up on grocery shopping). The fire pit was amazing! We were out there both nights with a fire and roasting marshmallows! The hot tub is a nice size and we could fit everyone in it. The big kicker was seeing the baby deer each morning. That was priceless.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

Why the Owner Chose Helen:
Being at this cabin is like being with nature! You will have deer, turkery and other animal right in your back yard. You are only 5 mins away from Helen but you don't have the loud noise of being right there. Its a place where you can just sit in the hot tub and melt away all your problems or curl up with a good book on the porch.
