Just close your eyes and imagine greeting the morning sun from your own private balcony in this fourth floor Yacht Club villa, overlooking Shelter Cove Harbor and Marina. Watch the boats setting sail before you head out to the beach, or to one of the nearby golf courses, the tennis center, the shops/restaurants along the harbor, the numerous bike trails, etc. There is so much to do it is hard to decide where to begin! During the summer months, Palmetto Dunes offers a free shuttle service to all of these destinations although many are within easy walking distance of the condo.
The Yacht Club is in the center of activity but the large pool, hot tub and the grounds are private and beautifully landscaped. If peace and quiet is your fancy, you will find it here. Yet, steps away are restaurants with dockside seating, entertainment and a variety of cuisine. During the summer, Shelter Cove offers fireworks every Tuesday evening over the marina which you can view from your balcony or share with others on the promenade around the harbor.
The condo itself offers many amenities: three large bedrooms two of which have their own decks. The master bedroom has a king-sized bed and its own private deck and bath with walk in shower, the second bedroom has a queen size bed and a marina view, the third bedroom has twin beds. The well-equipped kitchen has all the comforts of home: microwave, dishwasher, plenty of dishes and cookware, allowing you to occasionally resist the island's fine restaurants. For down time, the unit offers 4 TVs and wireless internet.

I traveled with my wife and school-aged children. It was our first time to Hilton Head. Friends have been coming for years and told us we needed to check it out. We absolutely loved our stay. Palmetto Dunes has lots for the kids, and we rode bikes, played tennis, went kayaking, saw a show at the fine arts center on site---and of course swam at the pool and the beach every day. We also found lots of great places to eat and never felt like we couldn't have the kids with us at any of them. The island is extremely family friendly, as our friends indicated. The condo was bigger than it looked online, and we were pleasantly surprised by the amenities. The master bath is gorgeous and very large, and the view of the harbor with all the boats is simply stunning. We would definitely recommend making a point of watching the fireworks from the balcony! Also, for anyone who has traveled with family, you'll appreciate the fact that the condo has 2.5 bathrooms. Very convenient. Overall, we were very impressed and will definitely come back to HHI. And when we do, we will try to stay here again!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children.

I was pleasantly surprised to see that the condo has been updated and was better than the photos on the site indicated. The view of the harbor and the pool area is great. The condo is well furnished and was very clean upon our arrival. There is a lot of activity around the harbor with many restaurants playing music but the condo is very quiet. I would certainly recommend this condo and the Shelter Cove area and look forward to coming back.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway.
