WELCOME TO CHARMING BEAUTIFUL ACORN COTTAGE, ONLY 17 MINUTES TO WOLF CREEK SKI AREA AND 10 MINUTES TO PAGOSA SPRINGS!
Cowboy chic and close to Wolf Creek Ski Area, this two story charming log cabin is nestled on the mountainside of the San Juan River Village in a clearing in the woods, surrounded by wildflowers, deer, Elk, Wild Turkeys, and many other species of wild birds and wildlife, 1/2 mile off Hwy. 160 and 7 miles North East from Pagosa Hot Springs. It has been recently remodeled and redecorated with charming cabin decor. We just added a non-chlorine spa on the deck where there are breathtaking views of the San Juan Mountains and the Continental Divide. We also recently added free high speed wireless internet. It has a peek-a-boo view of the San Juan River from the master bedroom balcony and the kitchen, which is below us in the river valley. You can even hear it's rushing waters in the Spring.
There are knotty pine floors throughout the cabin, a full kitchen, new dining table with antique chairs, high thread count linens, natural guest amenities, free High Speed Wireless Internet, new mattresses, gorgeous new persian rugs, lot's of antiques and new front loading stacked washer and dryer. There is a convenient mudroom as you enter that can store your skies, snowboards, bikes, and fishing poles. In the living room is a queen-size sleeper futon sofa and gas log fireplace with river rock surround, 2 Satellite TV's (1 in master), DVD, VCR, 2 CD stereo/radios and a large library of DVD movies and books for your enjoyment.

Our family stayed at Acorn during June of this year. I was very pleased with the size of the kitchen. Especially countertop space and cabinet space available for groceries. We cooked often and were pleased with the cookware available. The entire cabin was well decorated with a lot of attention to details and flow of theme. The beds and linens were nice. We appreciated having a washer and dryer in the cabin. The Jacuzi on the deck was great with the mountain view. Overall a very charming place.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers.

We enjoyed our much too short stay for our 25th anniversary getaway! Everything about our trip has been memorable, the cabin itself, a peaceful haven with perfect amenities, the towns of Pagosa Springs and Silverton, the red tailed hawk that called and circled abve the cabin yesterday, and of course being in love after 25 years. The amazing beauty of the region and the warm and homey atmosphere of this special place made this journey feel just right!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

About the owner: I always dreamed of owning my own mountain cabin, and here it is for all to enjoy. A little about me, I have two grown sons, love hunting for antiques and decorating. I am also an artist and you will see my handiwork about Acorn Cottage, I also built the dining table with my Dad, found and refinished all the antique chairs around it! All the other vintage and antique furnishings are my finds and I restored all of them as well. Please enjoy!
