  I had never been to Yosemite, and I couldn't have asked for a better first visit. Here are the top 5 reasons to stay at Cub's Cabin: 1) Great Location close to everything 2) Beautiful deck - perfect for viewing the gorgeous night sky 3) Stocked with everything a traveler needs to enjoy their stay 4) Clean and bright with lots of natural light filtering through 5) The best caretaker - Holly was courteous, helpful and one of the best people I've ever met.   My husband and I were looking for a romantic getaway for our 10th anniversary and every year we call it a "honeymoon." We do love the Sierras and have spent a lot of time hiking these beautiful mountains. We came across Holly's 'Cub's Cabin" and liked the way it looked private and was in the forest. When we arrived we were quite surprised that it was much more than the photos show. The wood floors gleamed, the kitchen was much bigger than ours at home, and it was downright cozy in a perfectly gorgeous forest setting. We loved the deep jacuzzi bath and took wonderful bubble baths each day. I caught up on my reading in the living room while being able to overlook the beautiful forest setting with the cathedral ceiling. My husband enjoyed the large tv and found many movies to watch. We drove to the valley most days to sightsee and were in awe of the falls and wildlife. Even though it was cold we took some great walks - the air was crisp and clean. I love to cook and found the kitchen very well equipped, even with some wonderful herbs and spices. The beds had a luxurious feel and we started to feel the stress of the city life and our work melt away. I love this house and would come back in a second! It is spotlessly clean, would be great for couples or families, and is in a beautiful location within Yosemite Park. It is a quick trip to the valley if you need restaurants or other services or simply to sightsee.

  Others have said it, but Yosemite West is the best location--between the Valley and Wawona right where Glacier Point Rd. takes off. The house was very nice and had all we needed. We cooked simple meals and found the kitchen adequately supplied. One note: if you know what to look for you can see it in the pictures, but the tub is sunken by about 2 feet below the bathroom floor. This was tricky for the older members of our group, and this house would not be a good choice for anyone unsteady on their feet. Holly, the owner, was professional and responsive, and we would without hesitation recommend working with her.

  Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children.

I understand your concern about the jacuzzi style bathtub, that is why I pictured the inside of the tub in the website listing, so people are aware of the depth. I plan to have my contractor handicap the tub a little more then the handle and step. I apologize for any discomfort it may have caused.   The cabin was very clean and functional for the group of 9. It was very close to all of the main attractions at Yosemite. We enjoyed coming back from long hikes knowing we had a nice place to have dinner in.

  We stayed for 3 nights at the end of July 2012. The house was very nice and clean with everything we needed for our stay. It was spacious and in a nice location with lots of big trees. The owner was prompt when we called with a small issue. We think it was worth the money and are glad we stayed!

  "All the comforts of home, in fabulous setting" Our family of 4 adults stayed here for 3 nights and were more than satisfied. It sounds small with name "Cub's Cabin" but it is spacious enough for 6 or 7 people. A dream house for your kids too. Spotlessly clean and fresh, well decorated, nice kitchen, deck with barbecue. The rec room has fitness equipment, air hockey table, sofas, bathroom and nearby outdoor hot tub. Nice surprises: fluffy large bathsheets, games, family dvd movies, wall-sized window to view sunrise and sunset. Located in a neighborhood of homes (but not close enough to intrude)and very convenient to the heart of Yosemite - well inside the Park gates. The owner and caretaker (down road) were responsive to small requests. Don't forget to buy all groceries before getting to the Park. The Park stores have limited selection.

  We stayed 2 nights in august and the place was great. Not too hot. It is nicely appointed with decor and the kitchen has everything we needed, including a nice selection of spices. Our kids, ages 3,6,7,10, thought it was the greatest place on earth, particularly the cub's den basement area and the outdoor space. We ate every meal on the beautiful porch. The location is fantastic relative to what we wanted to see, the valley, glacier point, and mariposa grove. The place was clean with plenty of towels, sheets, pillows, etc and the communication with owner was prompt, accurate, and professional. Thanks!

  All I can say is Wow... We wish we had planned more time in Yosemite. Cub's Cabin is a wonderful place to stay. It is not far from any of the main sight seeing areas. It is 15-25 minutes from the Lower Valley, Glacier Point and Mariposa Grove. Great location in a residential area! Holly is a great communicator. She responds very quickly to email and phone calls. Outstanding service. The place was very clean and modern. The only reason I did not give a perfect 5 is because it does not have a/C. However there are many fans in the place and we kept cool. It actually was a bit cold each evening, therefore no need for fans at night. We were hardly there during the day when it was hot. There were 6 of us and we had more than enough room to sleep comfortably. It easily sleeps 6-10 people. I wish we had more time to play horse shoes, sleep in the hammock or enjoy the hot tub. They are all great...
