Enjoy panoramic ocean and white water Laguna Beach views from this 1927 Spanish-Revival jewel box home situated on a beautiful lot in the heart of the historical village of Laguna Beach. Some of the most famous beaches in the world, tasty restaurants, art galleries and shopping are all within walking distance from this charming home.
The home has been lovingly updated and decorated by the owners, one of which is an interior designer. This home is a cozy, sophisticated beach house that includes white slipcovered sofas, crisp, luxurious bed linens, white fluffy bath towels, french doors, hardwood floors and traditional sotillo tiles throughout.
The main living room area has the original wood burning fireplace and a wall of french doors and windows looking out onto the deck and view. Curl up in the cozy down filled sofa or read a book next to the fireplace in the very cool rope arm chair.
Have fun cooking in an updated vintage styled kitchen with a fully restored O'keefe and Merrit stove, Fisher Paykel dishwasher, SMEG fridge, french bistro table and other charming details. Dine outside on the expansive decks or patios and watch the sunset...(both indoor and outdoor tables comfortably seat 8+) -this is outdoor living at its finest!
There is an enclosed lower garden and an inviting front courtyard and entry all with fountains that provide fantastic ambiance. Quiet and serene privacy is enhanced by the mature hedges and tropical landscaping.
Downstairs features french doors throughout, a wet bar and entertainment bar, 50' LG Plasma HDTV with full HBO cable package and DVR. The master bedroom is located on this level as well and features a king size four poster canopy bed, HD TV with full cable. French doors lead out to a private deck and large fountain. A second bath and laundry room with dual washer and dryers (fantastically convenient!) are also located on this level.
Take the big, beautiful woven tote basket for a walk down to Thalia Street Beach for a picnic or a full day at the beach. Cooler, beach chairs and beach towels are all provided as well. You will feel just like a local!

We stayed in this beautifully decorated house for two weeks. During our stay we actually used the house for our wedding. The venue was perfect. We couldn't have asked for a better setting. The house offers a wonderful vista, great decoration, is fully self contained, has good proximity to shops and the beach, and has a relaxing atmosphere perfect for unwinding. We would gladly recommend this house to anyone. Rod and Catherine were excellent to deal with and were willing to help in anyway they could. If you chose this house you will not regret it, we certainly did not!Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, families with young children.

My family, including a 2 month old, enjoyed a week over the Labor Day holiday in this wonderful home. It was comfortable, spacious, and fully equipped. Because it is not air-conditioned, this home may not be for everyone, but if you enjoy opening all the doors and windows and a cool sea breeze at night, this is a great home. The walk down hill to the beach is also probably not ideal for families with small children or seniors, but it was easy to drive to the bottom of the hill and find a parking spot. And, Laguna's main beach is only a few blocks away. There are three separate outdoor living spaces too that make this home a special place. We were there for the last days of the Sawdust Art Festival and thoroughly enjoyed that as well. We simply didn't want to leave at the end of the week.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: California coastal homes generally do not need or have air conditioning units. The Pacific Ocean breeze is there to cool you... That's why you come here. We are located on Lower Temple Hills Drive, perhaps one of the most strategic locations in Laguna because of its commanding views and proximity to town. There is a slight rise in the hill as you approach the street, which gives it the advantaged view above the neighbors. This should not be confused with the long hill up to upper Temple Hills. From our property, walking to the beach is only about 5 blocks or a 5 minute walk. On the walk home, the slope of the last block is steeper on Thalia Street, but we recommend people walk on the side streets, which are moderately sloped. With young children I would put them on my shoulders and walk down to the beach and town and back, or used a stroller. For anyone concerned, we can arrange strollers, joggers or wheelchairs.

Ny 93 year old mom and I stayed for a week with visits from my daughter (Oakland) and friends from Carlsbad. The home was magnificent in every way and met our needs beautifully. Not only is it charm- ing and comfortable, but decorated beautifully and immmaculate! Rod went out of his way to make our stay special and we all agreed the VIEW was awesome. Spent most of our time on the back deck, but also got to make use of the front patio as well. Excellent location, great restaurants nearby, and we definitely hope to be able to return! Thanks again for a lovely place to call "home" during our stay.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

The decor, a layout for Cottage Magazine, made our stay feel as comforting as well as if we were transported back in time when vacation was an integral part of life! Vintage charm in a glamorous, chic location. We will all have a wonderous postcard in our memories for many years to come.
