The Unique Benefits at this House

Ponte Vedra Beach is located between both Jacksonville and St. Augustine. You are surrounded by Guana State Park for those who want to get away from the cities, but is close enough that golf courses and good restaurants are a short drive away.

Just what we wanted for family of eight. Clean.More than adequate common areas. Good kitchen. Dining table that really does seat eight and could squeeze in 10. Downstairs a plus if some wanted to stay up late or find a quiet spot. A word of caution if you are renting at Ponte Vedra Beach. Some houses are west of A1Á to you have to cross a busy highway to get to the beach and even then, there might not be immediate beach access, forcing you to walk 2-3 blocks to find access. So if it is not readily apparent that your house is immediately on the beach, have a discussion with the owner about how exactly you get there.

Owner response:Thanks for the great review of our house! Just to make sure everyone is clear, our house is directly on the beach as can be seen from our photographs, and you do not need to cross any street to get to the beach.

Great Thanksgiving gathering

Guest: Jan (Allen, Tx)
Date of Stay: 11/20/11 Review Submitted: 12/10/11

This was our second visit to this property. November was a beautiful time to visit this comfortable beachfront home. We had ten family members staying for several nights, and my husband and I enjoyed a few nights by ourselves. The kitchen was well equipped for a big family dinner. And we found groceries and liquor at convenient Publix grocery stores. Golf at both courses at World Golf Village was an easy drive. The teenagers especially enjoyed skimboarding and shooting pool. Everyone enjoyed walks along the almost deserted beach right out our back door. When we discovered that the hot water heater was barely sufficient for two, we called the owner. He arranged for a plumber to repair it the same day; we didn't even have to be there. Jim has been very professional and welcoming on both visits. We found the home to be just as described. We look forward to coming back next year.

Heaven!

Guest: Roxanne (Pompano Beach, Florida)
Date of Stay: 09/03/10 Review Submitted: 09/15/10

We recently had our annual family reunion at this wonderful house. Family flew in from up north and we came from down south. I had originally planned on exploring St. Augustine and Jacksonville, but ended up only leaving the property to grab a newspaper. Others went to the lighthouse and fort which were both in nearby St. Augustine. The house is perfect! There was plenty of room for our party of 10. Lots of room for parking too. The bedrooms were roomy, and the queen bed in the upstairs guest room was the most comfortable bed I've slept in ever! The upstairs master bedroom had the most amazing view to wake up to each morning. Downstairs was plenty of seating with a pull out sleeper sofa, pool table, wet bar with fridge and downstairs master bedroom. And a fireplace! Washer and dryer. It was like its own separate living quarters. The garage has room for two cars and there's an extra fridge out there too. There was a door going out to the chilling and grilling area. Grill had plenty of gas. Upstairs had a beautiful fully appointed kitchen with pots, pans, glasses, loads of dishes, silverware, serving pieces. A large dining table with seating for eight. The TV is perfectly situated so all of us could watch a movie and be comfortable. There were puzzles and books galore! There were plenty of bath towels, but bring your own beach towels. Bathrooms were roomy and water pressure was excellent. Loved having the tide times displayed on the kitchen wall! We weren't sure about shade on the beach so we brought our own EZ up tent. We never used it once. There was plenty of shade downstairs and upstairs on the deck. The showers were perfect for cooling off in or rinsing sandy feet. There were hoses upstairs and downstairs. Plenty of deck chairs to sit and enjoy the view, upstairs and downstairs. There was also plenty of beach toys for the little guys to play with. Boogie boarding will wear you out and there were some of those there too. We brought our own too, so everyone was riding the waves. Plenty of shelling and exploring the beach. Waking up and seeing dolphins out in the ocean was amazing too! Took our snorkeling stuff but couldn't see much. The night sky is amazing! The owners/property managers were easily reachable and extremely helpful, patiently answering all of our questions, a pleasure to deal with. Our family loved this home and it's on our go back to list. Thanks for a wonderful stressless week!

Friends and Family

Guest: Harrell-Devine Family (Jacksonville Beach)
Date of Stay: 06/12/10 Review Submitted: 08/21/10

We rented this house in June 2010 for my annual "Girls Trip" (first four days) and then for my husband and six children (last four days). This house is perfect for everyone, but especially a large family with teenagers. The downstairs game room and lounge area is perfect for the older kids when they want to escape their parents! Complete with pool table, computer, TV, big comfy couch. The kitchen is brand new and very nicely appointed - everything we needed! The layout is great, very open and spacious. Lots of room to lounge, play games and sit and chat. The beach is sandy, not shelly like you'll find further north towards Guana. Lots of sand for sand castle building, running, games, etc. No sharp shells! I would definitely recommend this house to anyone looking for a peaceful, relaxing beach trip.

Family Memories Made Here!!!!

Guest: Beach lover (Jacksonville, FL)
Date of Stay: 07/03/10 Review Submitted: 07/17/10

We have stayed at this location for the past three summers and love it. Each year the property has been upgraded, is clean, and well-maintained. On our second stay, a privacy fence and patio for grilling was added--- this helped with keeping the children in! This past summer, the kitchen was remodeled and is gorgeous! Our favorite feature is the outdoor shower with HOT water that helps keep the sand from creeping inside. If we need a break from the sun, we always head inside for a midafternoon game of billards. We love eating at Barbara Jean's and Caps--- two nearby restaurants you'll want to hit at sunset! Location is just a quick drive South to St. Augustine and where we love the shops and the kids enjoy exploring the fort. We even ventured North to Adventure Landing Shipwreck Island Waterpark for waterplay, putt-putt, laser tag, go carts, and gameroom--- only a 30 min. drive away in Jacksonville Beach. You can watch the sunrise over the ocean and the sun set again from the balcony overlooking the preserve across the street. I enjoy walking the wide beach for a hour every morning and barely passing one person. You'll only find locals who are all friendly and the sea turtle patrol checking the nests. It has become our private getaway. This is where our family and friends have chosen to make memories that our children will cherish forever. I recommend this property without hesistation.
