Possum Kingdom Lake house description
This waterfront tri-level home was built in 2005. It's a 3 bedroom, 2 bath home, located close to the end of the Peninsula on the east side of Possum Kingdom lake.
This is a private home with a wood burning fireplace, central air and heat, beamed cathedral ceiling, multiple covered decks, and fabulous views of the lake from every room. (We turned the house plans around so the large windows face the lake.)
There are extensive custom stone patios with steps going down to the lake, a fishing pier and over 300 feet of private secluded shoreline. We are the last house on our road, with a wilderness area to the left and there's unlimited shoreline past our 300 feet, to explore.
Mexican saltillo tile floors with rugs are on the second and lower level, two fully tiled baths, central heating and air conditioning, ceiling fans, huge, well equipped kitchen, with microwave, range, dishwasher, washer & dryer, side by side refrigerator with water and ice in the door, and a separate built in icemaker. The living area has flat screen cable TV, dvd player and stereo. There are carpeted bedrooms, (with a king, two queen sized beds and two roll away beds.) The over sized master bedroom has it's own TV, sitting area, huge paladin windows with a panoramic lake view, Master bath with jacuzzi, separate shower, twin sinks and a balcony for relaxing and taking in the views.
Everything you need has been provided to make your stay a pleasant one!

Cell phone's are hit and miss because of the 'mountains.' I have AT&T and can get reception when I'm on the upstairs balcony. But, didn't you want to go to the lake to get away from all that?...moreless

- A network of Hiking trails have been completed, one of which is on our road. Turn right on the trail at the Trail- head and it's a short hike to Sandy Beach. Small children can play on the playground equipment, swim and play in the deep sand and gentle lake slope. Pack a picnic lunch, there are tables and grills. Lots of deer and other wildlife abound (no hunting). P.K. is a great place to water ski, since the lake is 75 miles long! The Brazos River feeds the lake, and a short distance away are canoe rentals, where you can spend the day on the river. Golfers can play at The Cliffs- one of the finest and most difficult golf courses in Texas and one of the most beautiful. The view of the cliffs and lake from the cliffs behind the club house is a must-see. Or just stay at our home and relax, read, fish and/or swim. Watch the sea birds and deer, an occasional fox, wild turkey, etc., etc. P.K. is still beautiful. Our area wasn't impacted by the fires. Come out and relax- you won't want to go home. P.K. is approximately 75 miles west of Ft. Worth and the metroplex. Come out, sit under the stars and unwind!...moreless

Our weekend stay in your property was amazing! The house was just as it was described: clean, spacious, and had an amazing view! Our family of 6 were comfortable in our respective rooms and had plenty of space to relax in the living room as well as on the deck. The spacious kitchen was great since we had lots of cooks! We couldn't get over the view - especially from the master bedroom balcony. Unfortunately the lake is down, but that didn't stop us from spending time on the water. We used the public ramp at the Brazos River Authority area just down the road. We were even able to tie up our boat to some of the trees in the water near the house and wade in. The only issues we had were tiny and not a problem. Water pressure was only an issue if more than one person was showering or if the dish washer was running or a toilet flushed. Otherwise the water pressure was fine and we had plenty of hot water. Our other issue was ants, but ONLY if food wasn't put away or dropped. We only had this issue because our toddler dropped food and we didn't realize it. From that point on we were sure to quickly pick up spills and put all food away before heading out for the day. We would recommend this property to anyone, and hope to come back again someday. Perhaps in the fall when it's not so hot! Thank you so much!

Owner response: Thank you Valerie! I'm so glad your family enjoyed your weekend getaway at Chateau Blair! Fall and Spring are amazing, do come back when the weather is milder- it's my favorite time to be at the lake. Best Regards, Anna
This was a very nice home and was met most of our needs. The description was very right on to what we found at the home with the exception of linens, towels etc. everything was there except kitchen towels or cloths. The property was clean and well maintained but we had an ant problem from day one. The living room and kitchen both had ants we had to deal with daily. I know the lake is low and it has nothing to do with the owners. It is a beautiful view and I'm sure the swimming area is nice when the lake is full but at the lake level being where it is the "beach" is very rocky and hard to get to. The tenants before us had made a platform walkway with boards they had found to make a way to get to the beach. There is a "dock" or "pier" but it is not in very good shape and I definitely wouldn't recommend the steps down to beach from "pier". It was fine for adults but I can't imagine having children at the beach area. Also you can observe a definite difference between the pictures on the site and actuality; there are trees standing in the immediate "beach" area which would normally be underwater.. This is not a huge deal; however it gives a false impression of the beach area and could be a problem for some others who do not like to be near trees in the water. If you have a boat this is something you need to know. Our overall stay was great, the home is very nice, and most of our problems were not anything the homeowner could fix. The late check in (5pm) and early checkout (10 am) is somewhat inconvenient for guests. I would recommend this home for adults without children and I would visit again when the lake level is up.

Owner response: Thank you for your review Carly. I think the ant problem has been resolved, with spraying inside and around the foundation outside. I guess with Fall and Winter approaching, they decided to move in! lol Unfortunately, the drought is something we have no control over. I wish the lake was full also, but we still have plenty of water, since we are in the deep water channel. Just have a bit more "beach" than usual. We have concrete steps that go down to the beach area, so I'm not sure what was meant there. The last step is pretty high now, since normally that would be the place to enter the water to swim. Not sure what you meant about the towels and linens. I know the cleaning crew often takes them home to launder when they are pressed for time. There are plenty of bath towels, kitchen towels and linens, and a call should've been made to Don's Concierge at the lake, if there wasn't enough available for your stay. (His number was in the guest book, with instructions to call if everything wasn't okay). Otherwise, I'm glad you enjoyed your stay and look forward to having you back in the future. Let's all pray for more rain to get us all out of this drought situation! Best Regards, Anna
Great place for family vacation weekend. The house was very clean and great condition The sunset view was gorgeous. Even though the water level was low, we enjoyed the lake.

We stayed here in April 2013 and had a great weekend. Anna responded very promptly and professionally to all questions and planning needs. The house was gorgeous and comfortable and very accessible to everything we needed within the area – lake, boat rental, golf, dining, grocery, etc. I would highly recommend.

Wonderful Family Vacation
Wonderful Family Vacation
We had a wonderful vacation at this home. The house was so clean, the views of the lake and sunset were beautiful and the kids had a great time playing by the water. The kitchen was perfect as we cooked most of our own meals There was plenty of room inside and out to lounge and enjoy our free time. We rented a boat and had a great time exploring the lake. We also enjoyed several of the hiking trails that gave us great views of the lake. We would definitely stay here again and would not hesitate to refer our friends and family!

Enjoyed Our Stay!
Enjoyed Our Stay!
My husband & I came to look at lake properties and needed a homebase. We were very comfortable in this charming home. It is on a nice part of the lake and was easy to find using Google Maps. We did not bring a boat, but if we had, there is a boat ramp very near to the property. Until we find our very own lake home, we will be back to enjoy this one!

Fabulous Lake House
Fabulous Lake House
We have been coming to Possum Kingdom Lake for many years and by far this was the best accomedatiions we have experienced. We were able to bring our whole family together in a lovely and clean house. Every detail had been thought of to make our stay enjoyable. Beautiful lake view with easy directions to find. All of our questions were answered before our visit and without a doubt I would recommend it to anyone. If there was a higher rating then excellent I would use it.

Owner response: Thanks so much Charles! I'm glad you enjoyed our P.K. retreat! Do come back again when you need another dose of the peace and tranquility of P.K.
Our stay was great. Beautiful place at the very end of the road which means it is very hidden. Great get a way! Since it is the last property on the road, you get lots of shore line to yourself on the left. The house if perfect and very nice. Tons of beautiful masonry work everywhere. Great location on PK lake. The only thing to make it better would be a floating boat dock. Other houses with boat docks are impossible to get unless you reserve months in advance which is why we settled for this place. This turned out not to be a big deal because the weather was cold and we didn't bring the boat. We will defiantly stay here again during cooler seasons when we don't bring the boat.

Labor Day Vacation
Labor Day Vacation
The vacation rental was beautiful. We enjoyed the home very much and its views. The home was very secluded which is nice if you want a quiet time. Access to the water was limited due to the drop in lake levels. We could not access the water at all for swimming from the house but the sandy beach was just around the corner which provided a very nice area to swim. I would not recommend you bringing your boat to the property as the road is very narrow and winding. We made the mistake of taking the boat to the house and had a very hard time getting it back out. We left the boat at the access ramp and had no problems after that. The home was very relaxing but the tv channels were limited so I would recommend you bring movies if you plan on spending much time inside.

About the owner: We started renting our home as a 'Vacation Home Rental' last year. We are retired and have a home in Fort Worth. When we are away we thought we would share our home with families that would love and respect our home as we do. Friends and family are what makes life rich, and each of our homes are filled with gatherings from our travels, good food and laughter. We designed the spacious home to utilize the beauty of the lake, the native trees, Palo Pinto mountain surround, and wildlife gathering spot. It's such a treat to see the herds of deer gathering in the evening by Sandy Beach! Possum Kingdom will bring you back year after year. Noel and Anna Blair
Why the Owner Chose Possum Kingdom Lake:
This home undoubtedly has the best deep water views on the lake! We are close to the end of the Peninsula in a secluded area, teaming with wildlife and nature. Our home is located on a point with panoramic views in every direction! We offer covered porch decks, stone patio with adirondack chairs, huge window views of the lake, and a fully equipped, almost new home. Our waterfront has 350 feet of private shoreline, and unlimited, natural shoreline to the left, since we are the last property. We have a fishing pier and our secluded wooded, hillside lot is 1/2 acre. You will find peace and relaxation at our place, in comfortable surroundings. Nature lovers will find plenty of wildlife. We have deer, wild turkeys, humming birds and of course, there's lots of fish and water birds! A new hiking trail was recently put in which goes to Sandy Beach on the left. Just a short hike through the woods to reach deep sand and a playground, picnic tables and the lake. Of course everyone can swim at our place as well. We are close to several public boat launches and boat rental facilities, if you are into boating, be sure to check out the cliffs of Hell's Gate. The lake offers a vast variety of natural lake views. This is a great place for a family vacation or a place to unwind, relax and take in the natural beauty!
The Unique Benefits at this House:
When we built this home in 2005, we turned the back of the house around so it faces the road. The true front faces the lake, and is much more attractive than the back but we did that so most of the windows would face the view. We have arched windows in the master with a beautiful lake view and windows all across the lake side. This is a secluded, quiet, beautiful and relaxing place!
