  We (party of 8) completely agree with the previous 5 STAR reviews. Blue Water Haven exceeded our expectations and has EVERYTHING for a PERFECT vacation or getaway. Bill is a gentleman and welcomed us to his beautiful home and left us in amazement of the outstanding beauty of it all. This will be a vacation that we will all remember. We highly recommend that you spend your next vacation/getaway at the Blue Water Haven.

  After spending spring break with my family at Blue Water Haven, I like all the reviews prior, cannot say enough positive things about our experience. Bill was accomodating prior to our arrival, was there to greet us, and available the entire visit if we had any issues, which we did not. His home is an absolutely gorgeous home with a perfect location. Was the best of both worlds, felt like a Bed and Breakfast, but our family had the entire place to ourselves. From beautiful sunrises and sunsets, kayaking, crabbing, the firepit, to sitting around the livingroom fire when it got a little cooler, to sitting in the breakfast room early mornings, this home is special, and the extra ammenities that Bill has taken the time to offer make the property exceptional! Bill, thanks for making my families Spring Break 2013 rememberable for many years to come! John Martin

  Our family of six enjoyed a relaxing and fun three day weekend at Bluewater Haven. WIth our kids' ages ranging from 8 to 17, finding a place where everyone can enjoy the experience can be a challenge. This property exceeded our expectations with all the amenities and beautiful views. The owner walked us through the well appointed home upon our arrival and acclimated us to the workings of the home, area attractions and restaurants, and made our stay comfortable from the first moment. The beds are comfortable, the home immaculately clean, and the sprawling lawn perfect for kite flying, soccer, frisbee, croquet and Easter egg hunting! The ospreys provided constant entertainment with their nest building and fish hunting. The fire pit on the water's edge was especially nice for relaxation on the cool spring evenings. Kayaking on the calm waters was a highlight! Wonderful place to unwind, listen to the sounds of nature, and relax immediately upon arrival. The community of Mathews was welcoming and hospitable, from the grocery store and bakery to the restaurants and Francis de Sales church. What wonderful people! Hope to return again soon!

  Just returned from a 5 day stay at Blue Water Haven. We were two families visiting the Wiliamsburg area and my wife found Blue Water Haven via VRBO. The house is in a very large plot of land with excellent water views and water access and quite private. The house is in excellent condition, very well and thoughtfully furnished and had lots of room for the 8 of us. Would love to return.

  I have rented dozens of homes over the years but this is hands down the best home and experience I have ever had. Thank you, Bill, for sharing your property with us! The home itself is beautifully decorated and the view from each room is phenomenal. It has all the extras: robes in each room, silver ice buckets with wine glasses, down comfortors and comfy beds. The owner has thought of everything. We were so very pleased we are already planning a trip back in the Spring and plan to bring the entire family. Thanks, Bill, for making my husband's birthday extra special!

  Some friends and myself rented the inn for a weekend. The amenities at the inn are fantastic! There are little extras that help make this place stand out; for example the owners provide cozy robes in each bedroom along with ice buckets/glasses to truly make you feel as if you are away from it all. The house is flooded with light and boasts gorgeous water views from the various rooms and porches. It is wonderful having the kayaks and bicycles which help you better appreciate the surrounding area. In the evening, the firepit is a perfect place to wind down, review the days events and plan the next adventure. This is one of the best getaways I've had and highly recommend this to anyone looking for peace and serenity with stunning scenery. I would like to come back when the weather is a bit warmer and make use of the crab pots!

  If you are holidaying or visiting this area for any reason this is the place you need to stay. On our visit we were met by Bill the owner, he was very welcoming and helpful then left us alone to enjoy our holiday leaving a phone number in case we needed anything. The house is large very clean and well maintained the amenities were everything described and more. We made good use of the facilities swimming, kayaking, bikes e.g. the views are fantastic. I would recommend this property for an amazing holiday.

  You never know what a place is really like from a computer. When we got there we were very happy with the house, the pool, the view and how quiet it was. The house was well stocked with everything you needed. The bikes, the kayaks and the crab traps was an added bonus. We are planning on going back. Thanks Bill.

  We spent the weekend with our daughter, her husband and their toddler and baby. The house, setting on the Chesapeake Bay, huge yard and private pool was everything we could have wanted. Very private and with great views to look at during every part of the day. Our 2 1/2 year old grand daughter was totally enthralled by the pool and was in it three or four times every day. There wasn't a detail in the house that was overlooked. Can't say enough about our stay other than it was 100% perfect. Looking forward to returning soon.

  We recently enjoyed a relaxing stay at Blue Water Haven. Situated directly on a quiet water way with captivating views and refreshing bay breezes, the outdoors is by far the best part of this property. It was a disappointment to have to step indoors at all! The home, however, was recently renovated –charming, inviting, very clean and well-appointed. Towels, linens and kitchen staples were provided. Outside, recreational equipment was available for use as well at no extra cost-- kayaks, life jackets, bikes, pool noodles and lounges. That made planning for the stay easy for us. There was something for everyone in our family of five. The kids loved the kayaks, the pool, and the crabbing. The adults loved all that as well, but worked in a bike ride, time in the hammock, and sitting by the water enjoying a nightcap. Blue Water Haven is the perfect setting to get away from it all. Wish we could have stayed longer and hope to be back very soon!

Additional information about rental rates

Cancellations made 14 days prior to the arrival date will be refunded minus a $50 cancellation fee + minus any credit card processing fees. Within 14 days, refund will be made based on revenue rec'd for any reservations made covering said billing period minus the cancellation fee and any processing fees.

Half of rental costs (rate + tax) required to make reservation; balance due on or before arrival.

Additional Fees and Taxes:

5% Virginia sales tax on all rental rates. There are no additional fees such as cleaning or linen service which are included in rental rate.
