Great beach place for kids!
Great beach place for kids!
First off, let me just say that mid-September is the best time of the year for good beach weather. If you can take your vacation at this time of year then do it! This house fit our needs perfectly. It's not too far from the beach, downtown, or the "pirate" themed playground. Our children loved the books, toys, and red wagon that were provided. The beds were very comfortable, and the kitchen was well-stocked. This house really is one of the best deals at Folly Beach!

This beach bungalow has just the right amount of renovation while holding on to its best vintage features. Very charming, comfortable and home-like. An easy walk to Folly's main street and to the beach. Pluses for my family were access to Wi-Fi and that our dogs could vacation with us. The property owner was great to work with and quick to respond to my questions. My family spent a very enjoyable week at this cottage and looks forward to returning.

All I can say is that this is a charming folly beach cottage. It is a one of the original houses on folly, and holds much character. Although it is older, it has been tastfully decorated and all of the necessities have been thought of such as beach chairs, umbrella, and a fully stocked kitchen and also includes a washer and dryer which is very nice to have during a week stay. I booked for one week, however wanted to stay through the labor day weekend and Lee the owner was great to work with, he allowed us to stay for a few extra days. I am only in Charleston once a year, and live abroad, but I can say that this is the perfect beach house for those who do not expect a huge glamorous mansion. It holds much charm and is located blocks away from center street which is perfect for walking home from the locals restaurants and pubs. I was also allowed to keep my pet there, which made it the perfect place because I do not get to see her very much! My father and boyfriend stayed there and we had a great time. This is house is perfect for a small family or couple and is great for those who appreciate older beach houses with character. Thanks again Lee, and hope to see you again next summer!!

Wonderful Family Trip
Wonderful Family Trip
I recently moved to Portland, Oregon from South Carolina. Both my husband's family and my family planned a beach trip to spend time together in Folly Beach. The house was great for our needs and spacious enough for all of us. There was no need for a vehicle the whole trip. We would easily walk to the beach and walk a few blocks over to the downtown Folly Beach area to enjoy some delicious food. We all seemed to end up gathering in one tranquil spot in the house, which happened to be the screened in front porch. We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

we rented this property for a week in april, 4/13/13 to 4/20/13, and were extremely pleased. it is a very warm, welcoming cottage, and the owner is a pleasure to work with. very short walk to town and to the beach. beds are very comfortable and linens were a nice quality. nice neighborhood, not noisy at all. we have been coming to folly since 2004 and have rented houses each time and would definitely count this as one of the nicer and would like to rent again. the cottage has everything you need, especially a washer and dryer, which is top on my list of needs. also it is on one floor with no stairs to get in and out. many of the houses of folly are elevated and would be difficult for some people. tricia h

IF YOU CAN SWING IT, VISIT THIS GREAT VALUE!
IF YOU CAN SWING IT, VISIT THIS GREAT VALUE!
This 3 bedroom charmer has more room inside than you would think. There are original hardwoods floors flowing though out the home and arched doorways, giving it so much character. The beds are comfy! . The home is inviting and roomy. The owners have done a wonderful job updating, yet keeping the house in it's original state. My husband and I visit folly a couple of times a year and we realize this is a definite great value! Thanks again to the owners, we did enjoy our stay!

About the owner: I moved to Charleston, SC from Wilmington, NC. I went to school at UNCW and graduated with an Environmental Science degree., and fell in love with the coast. Ended up in real estate. Working for real estate for developers, it has taken me, up and down the coast from NC, to FL. I met my beautiful wife in Charleston, and we are now living in the Blue Ridge Mountains, in the city of Asheville raising our family.
Why the Owner Chose Other Folly Beach Properties:
When i first moved to Charleston, i rented a home on Folly Beach. It had such a great, laid back feel, unlike other beaches that i have lived before. The home i had rented, had a similar location to 303 E.Huron, close to center st., and a short walk down to the beach. When i was shopping for a home, those criteria were very important. I also love trees, and the old mature palms blowing in the breeze was also a very welcome sound to me. There is a trophy live oak(huge canopy) that is very indicative of the south, that greets you as you pull in to the home.
The Unique Benefits at this Cottage:
The walk down to Center St. is relaxing as you take in the scenery, and before you know it, you are in the middle of all the shopping, and great places to eat. The Folly Crabshack is a favorite for local seafood, or for twist, go to the new Taco Boy restaurant. A walk on the pier after dinner for ice cream is a given. The location is what you will like about this home, convenient to everything, but on a quiet street on Folly. Also to drive to downtown Charleston from here is very scenic, and only 20 minutes away.
