We spent our spring break on Little Gasparilla for the second year in a row. Last year we were in a small house on the intercoastal side. This year we stayed in Sandy Toes. It was awesome! Beautiful house with lots of space. We came from Michigan with 5 other families that stayed on the island, each in their own rentals. We would take turns making dinner and entertaining the other families. Sandy Toes has such a great, wide open living area and screened in porch that everyone enjoyed coming there when it was our turn. They liked it so much that they might "steal" it from us next time! It's close to the beach and not far from the dock where our son spent all his time fishing. The washer and dryer came in handy. We were able to bring fewer clothes, wash them, and re-wear. The golf cart allowed us to explore the island, which we were unable to do last year. The screened in porch is great for sitting out in the morning while enjoying coffeee and listening to the gulf waves. The owners are very helpful and nice. Over all, we had a great vacation and would definitely come back again!Recommended for: Tourists without a car, families with teenagers, girls getaway, families with young children, romantic getaway.

My husband and I have traveled extensively and this was by far our favorite honeymoon like vacation that we have taken. We needed a place to refresh and renew our body, mind and spirit in a short period of time. We planned on staying 10 days but extended our stay another week. The owners are delightful and the property is very well managed. We had all the conveniences necessary for Island life! Any questions we had were answered immediately. We parked our rental car from the Ft. Myers airport at the Gasparilla Marina, but next time will use Eldred's Marina because it is very close for the water taxi. We took 3 long walks daily on the private beautiful beach! We found beautiful shells and over 300 hundred fossil sharks teeth. This is the house for beach lovers! Just a very short walk with back pack type chairs and umbrella (provided) and you are sitting right next to turquoise blue water, reading your book and visiting with the locals if you want to. Very friendly Island atmosphere. People either leave you alone or welcome the conversation and even invited us into their home for a lovely dinner. We planned very healthy meals before we arrived and the kitchen is furnished with everything we needed. When we extended our stay we took the water taxi to the marina and a very nice grocery (Publix) is located close by. We also took a short drive to Englewood to a lovely health food store, Reids Nutrition and made our way to a delicious restaurant on the coast called Lock and Key. There are also several restaurants the water taxi could have taken us to by boat but we chose to cook very healthy and made the trip a mini health retreat. Easy to do because you can't just jump in the car and head for junk food. The sunsets were amazing from the beach or from the open deck that has views of the gulf. I would sit on the deck every morning and read-- and the bird activity was fabulous! I saw cardinals, doves, wood peckers, osprey, hawks....wonderful! My husband would get up with his I-Pad (he had a hot spot for WiFi) and take care of his business for the day. We were provided with a nice golf cart which was very nice because we explored the Island. Sunday, at 10:30 we went to lovely church services. The Islanders took me to the quaint library and I found a fabulous book to read! The house is furnished with a nice television and games but we spent most of our time on the open or the screened in deck. We plan to go back soon and to book a month next winter.Recommended for: Girls getaway, sightseeing, pet owners, romantic getaway.

It was fun, It was beautiful, It was relaxing and lovely and oh soooo needed! Actually, you could sleep 10 people if you wanted to (2 in each bedroom, 2 pull out couch, 2 kids in the loft). It has a beautiful porch almost completely around the house. The beach is private and fabulous. The Island is quiet and quaint. We didn't even turn on the TV:)Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing, romantic getaway.

About the owner: My wife and I (both 5th generation Floridians) have been coming here since 1975. We just love the area and the unique nature of Little Gasparilla Island. Our daughter grew up here on family vacations and now our twin grandaughters are discovering all the wonders of LGI.
