The Carriage House is a romantic get-away for hiking, biking, and kayaking through the Park. Popular activities include antiquing, birding, and nature cruises from Bass Harbor, fresh water swimming at Echo Lake, and brisk salt water swimming at Back Beach in Bernard. It is a half hour from whale watches in Bar Harbor and within walking distance of the convenience store, the Post Office, seasonal restaurants, and gift shops.
