  My family and I enjoyed Easter at this amazing Castle; four wonderful days…..It was everything we hoped for and more. Great location, close to many restaurants and major grocery stores - walking distance if you don’t mind a bit of a stroll…Skiing was just a short car ride as was bike rentals …. The Castle is very spacious with many places to escape to and enjoy a moment of peace…with 14 of us ranging from grandparents to grandkids sometimes we needed our space and there was plenty of it…. The kitchen had everything we needed from cake pans to coffee brewer as well as high quality appliances….. The pillows and beds were very comfortable. The game closet was well stocked with a wide assortment of games for all ages…and everyone enjoyed the pool table… The separate guest area was really nice with an electric fireplace and a nice TV……..Really nice hot tub, large, well kept and easy to use…. The owners and their staff were very accommodating and generous …. very easy to work with…. Highly recommended.

  We had a group of 12 guys spend a weekend at the Castle. It was incredible. So much to do and such a beautiful place to unwind from the craziness of our lives. Gary was incredibly accommodating and made sure we had a great stay. I would recommend it to anyone.

  The Big Bear Castle is a luxurious and relaxing vacation home. We are a family of 5 with 3 small children, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The owners were extremely friendly and helpful and went out of their way to make sure our stay was perfect. My husband and I enjoyed the hot tub, multiple TV's, giant jacuzzi bathtub, pool table and the amazing patio outside the master bedroom. The kids went crazy over the rustic bunk beds and all the cute stuffed animals! There was so much space for the kids to run around and have fun. And the beds were all super comfy and clean - we all slept like a dream. The house is decorated beautifully and comfortably. And you can't beat the location - right next to shopping, skiing and the lake! It was such a special and memorable stay....We are already planning our next stay at Big Bear Castle and are recommending this beautiful vacation home to our friends and family!!!

  My wife and I renewed our marriage vows in Big Bear and it was absolutely fantastic! Big Bear Castle is great for formal entertaining as well as relaxed, casual leisure time. The stone portal entryway leads to a grand courtyard that was a perfect backdrop for our ceremony under the bridge to the casita. Upon entry to the main home the formal "round table" dining area continues the castle theme and provides a great place to gather for family games and meals. Nearby my kids discovered the joys of shooting pool while friends and family gather in the adjacent and spacious great room. The chefs kitchen was beyond our expectations and we found ourselves drawn to stay in for meals rather than going out. The rooms are super-spacious and accented with exceptional details. The patio has outdoor seating and the jacuzzi is just the ticket after a long day at the lake (even better after a day at the slopes in winter, I imagine!) This property flows very well for families and still allows for quiet time when needed - just sneak away to the welcoming treetop patio off the master suite. The attention to detail and quality throughout makes this property a must-stay for our family and friends!

  Had a great time at this cabin. The layout gives lots of options with different gathering spaces, and the casita separate from the rest of the cabin space if you want more privacy. Everyone had a great time. Unlike some cabins it has amenities to match up with all those beds, plenty of bathrooms, hot water, large kitchen for cooking, dining area for everyone, parking for 7, and everything is upgraded nicely and pretty new. Our gripes were minor, like most of the pool cues being broken, the fridge iced up after loading it up and stopped working until it defrosted the next day. Also bring extra TP, or you'll run out. Would probably rent again with a group this size.

The tips of the pool cues do need replacing from time to time due to the wonderful popularity of Big Bear Castle and the large quantity of guests we have visiting over the months. Today we replaced the tips on all the pool cues that needed them. We also have extra replacement pool cues available if you mention it to the property manager while you are visiting. We haven't had any problems with the large sub zero refrigerator in the past but thanks for letting us know of the icing issue. We had it checked out and it seems to be fine now. We provide our guests with "start-up" supplies...toilet paper (a couple rolls in each of the five bathrooms), paper towels, mini-shampoos, etc. to get guests started for a day or so but if you have a large group guests may need to bring additional paper supplies. Fortunately we are only two minutes from the grocery stores which makes shopping quick and convenient. Thanks again for all your nice comments about Big Bear Castle. We are anxious to provide a wonderful vacation experience for all of our guests. We'll look forward to having you visit again at Big Bear Castle.

  It is trully a castle!! A group of three families went there for President's weekend, can't ask for a better location and access. Of all the properties I have rented in the last 6 years, this was in excellent shape, seem like they had done a remodeling inside recently (surround system speakers in place and wired but not connected), nice kitchen counter tops, huge built-in refrigerator, pool table leveled and very nice condition, nice carpet and floor. The separate guest area was really nice too with TV, our youngsters (20+) stayed all there while the adults had the big house. The guest connects to the big house via a bridge on the second floor. The jacuzzi was kept warm all the time, although we did not use it. I was impressed with the heated rubber floor mats at all the entries to melt the snow and avoid slipping. There were a few very minor defects: the upper and lower bathroom wall outlet did not work (GFI could not be reset) but not a major inconvenience since this house has so many bathrooms. The garage door opener did not operate (manual), but again, we parked a car on arrival and took it out on departure (I reported these to the manager and they intend to fix). Owner and property manager were extremely nice! If available next year, I definitely want to go back to this property !!!!!!!.

  I travel with family and friends a few times a year. We usually rent homes because of the large group. Let me tell you, Big Bear Castle is where you want to be. This home has everything you need. It has space to accomodate a big group of people. Privacy as well. It's in a lovely neighborhood close to markets, ski lifts, sledding and the lake. Pretty much everything you need. But the home itself is warm and cozy with plenty of room to be all together or spend some quiet time on your own. I love to cook and the kitchen is well stocked and has more then enough room to have several cooks working at the same time. The spa in the backyard was such a treat at the end of the day! The owners and property manager were so kind and helpful, that's always a plus. If you are looking for a place to bring a couple of families you definetly want to stay at Big Bear Castle. Thank you Mary & Gary for blessing our my family with your beautiful mountain retreat!

  Our family has been coming up to Big Bear every winter for the last 15 years and this way by far the nicest home/cabin we have ever stayed at. Everything was very beautifully designed and decorated and made us feel right at home in the mountains. All the rooms were very spacious with lots of places for a large group to spread out and even find some privacy for reading and relaxing. The hot tub worked great and felt wonderful and we all enjoyed the pool table and board games that were available in the cabin. Lots of space around the cabin for the kids to play in the snow and of course the master jetted tub was a delight for the adults. Location was perfect as it was far enough off the main road to keep from being noisy, but close enough to be able to run into town or the grocery store without having to travel far at all. The property manager and owners were extremely nice and available for any questions that we had. They have done a great job on renovating the home. Gorgeous! We would love to come back again in the coming years.
