Our gorgeous beach house is located in the Lost Colony Villas on Mustang Island. You are a five-minute walk to the Gulf of Mexico with its magnificent beaches.
This non-smoking beach house has a vaulted ceiling in the living and dining room areas. A large deck is located off the living area to enjoy the breezes from the Gulf of Mexico. The master bedroom has a queen bed, TV, and a full bath. The second bedroom has a double bed and full closet. The kitchen is fully furnished. The beach house can accommodate up to six people and is decorated in a tropical theme.

Brought my family here for Thanksgiving at the beach, but this unit had several issues that detracted from our enjoyment. This unit is in need of updating, the mattresses were so old and basic, we couldn't sleep well due to the springs jabbing in our backs, the TV in the Master was old and on a stand that was so rickety that we were afraid to touch it and the bathrooms are in real need of repair and upgrade. The biggest disappointment though was the lack of cleanliness, especially in the kitchen. Since it was Thanksgiving, we brought food that we needed to cook, but discovered that all of the dishes and especially the pots and pans were filthy with stuck on food and dirt. We had to wash and scrub everything just to prepare the meals (not what we planned to do on our vacation). We were also left with only a single trash bag, so cleanup afterwards was a challenge. Upon checkout, I passed this information on to management company who expressed their apologies and assured me that a manager would contact me for more information and to refund my cleaning fee. It is January and that call has yet to arrive.

We loved the location of this property. It was fast and easy to walk to the beach. We loved that are little fur ball baby could join us and run on the beach with us. Patio furniture was comfortable and I enjoyed sitting on it and reading a book listening to the ocean waves. We just have a few suggestions. Decorating needs some updating. Paint on walls was nice. But the couch and comforters were old. Both bathrooms could use some updating. Issues with the A/C( working in living/kitchen area just fine). But bedrooms were hot and uncomfortable. The masterbed/bath could use a window unit to help cool it down. Very uncomfortable and we were unable to sleep well. We have a baby and it was hard to get him comfortable too. It wasn't as kid friendly as we thought. Especially for a small toddler. The deck needs to be treated and there were nails sticking up on the deck that hurt my sons foot. We arrived to find cooked food still in the oven and dirty dishes. The lock on the door entering the kitchen area needs to be replaced. There was a smell of moth balls. That was hard to handle. I would recommend this home to older couples not traveling with children 5 years and under.
Recommended for:Age 55+, pet owners.
