We loved staying here! Everything was as it was represented. It was cozy, comfortable, and close to many of the area sites. The town of Dolores is small but has all the amenities you need - the organic grocery store is well stocked, the Dolores River Brewery has great wood fired pizza and there is a nice path along the river to walk it all off! It was wonderful sitting out on the deck listening to the wind chimes in the evening. We would highly recommend this to anyone wanting to come to the Mesa Verde area but stay a bit off the beaten path.Recommended for: Age 55+, sightseeing.

This was the perfect place for 52 year old mom visiting her daughter. Cozy, clean, with high end finishes. Was a great place to come back to after a long day of sightseeing/hiking ! Love the little town of a Dolores too - great launching point for many day trips. Would definitely stay here again and recommend to others. Thanks Bill !Recommended for: Romantic getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing.

We are a couple over 55 visiting relatives in the area. We had an enjoyable 5 night stay at this apartment. The description and photos were accurate. The accomodations were clean and well maintained with everything in good condition and working order. It was quiet and peaceful. Communication with the owner was always prompt and easy. Note that the kitchen is best for minimal cooking, which was fine with me. I would choose to stay here again and would recommend this rental.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thanks for taking the time to review your stay.

Absolutely marvelous little haven in all respects. The interior is gorgeous, the view is breath taking, and the environment is oh-so-peaceful. I rented this for my mother to stay near by for a week, and after seeing it, I was tempted to trade her my house for the apartment! She reported that the bed was the most comfortable ever. I was taken with the view and the delightful feeling that I was in a tree house. Truly, a bargain for the area, as well as the most charming little place you could ever stay!Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, sightseeing.
Owner response: Glad you enjoyed your stay. thanks, -bill

About the owner: We remodelled the upstairs, creating a master bedroom suite and plan to retire in this home. All furnishings and applicances are high quality. We currently live in New Castle, Co where and work for Colorado Mountain College.
Why the Owner Chose Dolores:
Dolores is a hidden gem. A beautiful and still small mountain town, which has a great microbrewery, a famous 'biker bar' and a gourmet, organic local grocery. Just at the edge of town are extensive mountain bike trails. Situated 1 hour from Telluride, 45mins from Durango, 1/2 hr from Mesa Verde and an hour from Canyon of the Ancients, there are numerous activitites to explore. Dolores River runs right through town with rafting opportunities. Fly fishing is also very good.
The Unique Benefits at this Apartment:
In Dolores, the seasons vary almost exactly when they should. All of the seasons are beautiful. The canyon wall provides endless opportunities to see bear, elk, deer, fox and mountain lions. Although the house is in town, a feeling of privacy and solitude is the normal experience there. Peaceful and totally Colorado.
