Centro house description
Open the door to CASA20 and enter into your private spa-like home away from home - you are greeted by the sound of a gentle waterfall, the greenery of giant palms, solid stone underfoot and a brilliant blue sky above.
THE FIRST FLOOR of this casa has a traditional Mexican kitchen with casual dining space for 8. Take a dip in the heated plunge pool - day or night the experience is the ultimate in relaxation...whether it be blue skies or the twinkle of stars above. On this main floor , the bedroom with ensuite is both private and quiet- interior iron doors open to reveal the Mesquite tree that winds its way through the house making this bedroom a very special retreat.
THE SECOND FLOOR at CASA20 - The Living room is both comfortable and stylish. A gas fireplace for cooler nights, a flat screen tv /dvd & comfy sofa make this Sala the perfect spot to unwind. Doors open to the atrium, revealing an abundance of flowers and plants surrounding the impressive stone columns and mesquite beams. There are two bedrooms on this floor, both with private ensuites. The front bedroom has views to the quiet street below and the interior atrium. The master bedroom has screened windows which wrap themselves around the 'tree within'.
Uniquely, two of the three full bathrooms in this casa have grand showers that have also been designed to function as bathtubs ...water cascades down the stone steps and now a bath has been drawn!
(In addition, there is also a powder room on the first floor - for a total of 3.5 bathrooms)
CASA20 has a basement that contains the 'works' of the house.....heaters, water purification system, laundry and storage.
THE ROOF TERRACE @ CASA20 - Early morning, the air is crisp and the sky is bright... a perfect spot to enjoy the beginning of your day. A beautiful variety of birds are entertainingly active! Here, you will find the perfect spot to lose yourself in a favourite book. 'The Tent' is a covered seating area with loads of comfortable pillows & protection from the sun. This is also the place to enjoy cocktails while marveling at the spectacular sunset and view. And, If you run short on lime...simply pick one from one of two lime trees.
An abundance of plants, cactus and flowers delight the senses - often drawing interest from curious hummingbirds!
Dining for 6 is an option on this very private Terrace.
COOL or COZY... Solid stone floors and running water at CASA20 will help you keep your cool during hot San Miguel days. Need to warm up ? ...radiant heating throughout warms the stone floors - a gas fireplace in the second floor living room is on with a switch of the remote.
The attention to detail and design @ CASA20 is unique and thoughtful - natural light drifts down and through the house by way of multiple skylights and shafts. The craftsmanship by talented Mexican artisans is unquestionably brilliant - from the hand carved doors and beams to the custom designed solid stone columns.
CASA20 is conveniently located on a charming, cobblestone laneway - the flavour of San Miguel is all around. Although this lane is closed to through traffic, cars and cabs are able to pull right up to the front door . A peaceful and quiet Callejon ....just a few minutes away from the Jardin & the Paroquia.
Warren Hardy , the leading Spanish Language School is just around the corner.

After a 6 week stay in this fabulous house I cant say enough about it.... The house is decorated in very good taste, modern with a touch of mexican with really stunning architecture! The whole thing is a class act everything top of the line..sheets, dishes, art, furnishings weekly flowers and a wonderful house keeper that speaks english. The roof garden is gorgeous with great views, we spent as much time as possible up there! The location is a short walk to the Jardin in fact the location is great for everything restaurants, shops etc. The owner is very helpful and they have a house manager that was just a phone call away...and was there in minutes!!........ all in all a great experience!

Stylish and charming home
Stylish and charming home
I spent almost 3 weeks at Casa 20 with my 2 teenage daughters and we really enjoyed being there. It's a very unique and pretty home with interesting art work and architectural details. The rooftop is lovely with wonderful views of San Miguel. It's on a quiet street that's close enough to Centro that you don't feel too removed from the action but far enough so that you're not in the thick of things. Estrella, the housekeeper, is sweet and keeps the home sparkling. If you like boutique hotels like the W, you'll like Casa20.

We had the greatest time staying at casa 20. It´s a very beautiful house, the architecture is beautiful, the decoration divine, there is art and details at every corner of the house, the pictures are very accurate . Everything was very clean, Isela is very kind and a great cook. We walked every day to the centro and we returned we enjoyed the pool, the living room and the terrace. All 3 rooms are very nice and the bathrooms too. Next time we go to San Miguel we surely want to stay at Casa 20 again.

My sister, niece and I spent a week at CASA20 in April. The house is truly amazing, the architecture, the attention to detail and the decor are extroardinary. The locations is perfect, within walking distance of everything we wanted to see in SMA. Suzanne recommended the car service that picked us up at the airairport and for our 03:00 departure. Great service, prompt, courteous and friendly. Isela , the housekeeper was charming and very helpful. She cooked dinner for us one night including vegetarian stuffed peppers which were excelelnt. Her attentiveness added to our comfort and enjoyment. Should we visit SMA again, Casa20 will definitely be our preferred home away from home. St. Croix, USVI,

My husband and I spent 3 weeks in this beautiful home. We found it to be an extremely comfortable house. Walking into the entrance/atrium with a plunge pool and greenery all around was lovely. The bedroom we used (2nd floor in the back ) was very nice and bathroom off of it was well appointed. The roof terrace was terrific. We spent many hours there, morning , afternoon and/or in the evening with a glass of wine under the stars. It has very comfortable furniture to relax on and a dining table if the weather cooperates. The location of the house was excellent. It was only a few minutes walk to the Jardin and the artisans market and the aurora. All places you will definitely go to. Isela, the housekeeper, was terrific. Several mornings she cooked us fabulous breakfasts; Ironed sheets as well as our underwear!! The house was kept immaculately. Although, Isela does not speak English, we were able to communicate with words here and there and sign language! NO street noise except for the church bells and dogs!!! This is San Miguel de Allende, don’t forget! The house manager was immediately responsive to a couple of our needs. We would definitely stay here again. The photographs accurately represent the house.

A Truly Wonderful House
A Truly Wonderful House
We loved our stay at Casa20 this February. The house is so beautiful! It is filled with good art and wonderful furniture. The sunsets from the roof terrace are lovely. We have been coming in the winter to San Miguel de Allende for the past 5 years, and we were delighted to find ourselves this year in a totally different location from where we had stayed before. The house is very convenient to the Biblioteca and the shopping on Mesones and within walking distance to Fabrica La Aurora. There are lots of good restaurants within a short walk of the casa. We highly recommend Casa20.

" I was thrilled to be able to stay in your beautiful home. My kudos to the architect, the interior designer and to you for the terrific art. I could not have been more happy or satisfied with the whole experience. Housekeeper (Isela) is simply amazing. Thank you so much for everything. ... I am pleased to write a review, but would rather keep this gem to myself :)

Incredible Beautiful Home
Incredible Beautiful Home
Our trip to San Miguel De Allende was a first and came together at the very last minute. Susan (owner) was very prompt in responding to any questions and was very accommodating with our date request and also made recommendations for transportation pickup from/to airport. The home is impeccable and beautiful beyond pictures with a very central location plus an incredible patio on the third floor, views, views, views. A added bonus was definitely Ysela (the house caretaker); great cook and attended to our every need and offered great advice regarding San Miguel De Allende. The town was just as enjoyable as the house itself and will be back within the next year. I highly recommend this lovely home to anyone and everyone. THANK YOU Susan for allowing us to share your home in this very charming and safe town.

A magical place
A magical place
My adult daughter and I spent time this past April in this wonderful home.....I slept in the main floor suite and was awakened every morning with the sound of the birds in the tree that goes through the house. At dusk we would take our wine upstairs and from our seats under the tent watch the incredible sunsets. Last thing before bed we took a leisurely dip in the pool....delightful!...This centrally located home is close to many fine restaurants, artist studios, bakeries, little cinema, and a local market selling fruits, veg, flowers and much more. Be sure to pick up a mesquite BBQ chicken with all the fixins....great dinner choice... A couple of evenings we went to a music/dinner event...so enjoyable . The house is maintained spotlessly by a lovely maid who happily made us dinner (extra charge) one evening....stuffed peppers with rice...yummy!....I most certainly will be returning.....

My partner and I stayed at Casa 20 for a week and we were surprised at just how much we enjoyed it. Ordinarily, we'd opt for a room at a boutique hotel, but thought we'd try something new this year. We found everything we'd typically expect from a high end hotel: surprising and beautiful design details, fresh flowers, art and books everywhere, clean and well-appointed rooms, a lovely and smiling housekeeper who stayed unobtrusively in the background. All this in a newly built house close to the shopping and restaurants of San Miguel. Martha, the property manager, was particularly helpful to us. Having grown up in San Miguel, she knew a lot about bank hours, out-of-the-way restaurants, must-sees in San Miguel, like the botanical gardens and the small, but quirky, movie theatre/bar that showed art films every night. Her English was flawless. Next time we stay at Casa 20, we think we might want to stay much longer. The front bedroom with its floor to ceiling windows and ample natural light will be the ideal temporary studio for me to paint in or for my partner to use as an office space. After a week that went by way too quickly, I know we were both sorry to have to leave our cozy oasis, closing the big wooden doors behind us to start our journey back home in the bustle and heat of the busy San Miguel streets.
