Excellent Vacation Choice !!!
Excellent Vacation Choice !!!
My husband and I visited here last week and enjoyed our time very much. I enjoyed the large white swans, otters and birds that were around. The red winged blackbirds seemed to have claimed the area in front of the house as their own! The area is secluded from neighbors and we enjoyed the privacy. The home can sleep quite a few people and is wonderful for a family retreat. There were only the two of us, but a larger group would have easily been comfortable. We took the hike up Mount Walker, which I would recommend if you like short steep hikes. It's only 15 minutes from the house. At the top, you overlook the Hood Canal and the little town of Quilcene. Hope that gives you an idea of what to expect! Thank you!

As I am thinking about where to go on vacation in 2013, I am leaning towards a return to this home. The home is well equipped and right on the lake. I awoke every morning and swam across the lake and back. I could watch my kids from the deck and there was plenty of open space for them to run. We used their kayaks to explore the lake and very much enjoyed barbecuing every night. Brad was very helpful in all of our questions about the area and even emailed us a "Sites to see in the area" page. Thank you for a great vacation.

Great home, beautiful view, cozy town!
It's a beautiful wooden home with wide open spaces, a large yard and a conveniently placed hot tub (right outside, where the whole view is your to absorb!), a fantastic loft-bedroom with plenty of kitchen space. Classic decor makes for a very comfy, at home atmosphere.

Why Port Townsend:
Enjoy a private and fun lakefront home with beautiful surroundings.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
Don't worry about being too removed from society, because satellite TV is available for those who just can't stand to live without their electronic link (or the ball game). Sit in the spa and gaze at the stars.... Get a close-up view of the eagles, osprey, kingfishers, ducks or the red-winged blackbird who thinks he owns the property! S'mores are always a treat to make at the firepit. A table top charcoal barbecue is onsite, for making the big he-man steaks. A washer and dryer are onsite. All linens are provided (including many towels). Steamer clams and oysters are easy to collect near Linger-longer Road in Quilcene (about seven miles from Leland Lake). Bring your pet. There's two and a half secluded acres for Fido to run on. ($10 per day fee.) Lake Leland offers year-round fishing for rainbow trout, large mouth bass, perch, crappie and bluegill. (State license required. A boat ramp is located at the county park. Due to steepness of our driveway, we don't recommend bringing towed boats down it.) 5 mph speed limit on the lake. Hurricane Ridge is only an hour and a half away. It offers everything from sledding to cross-country skiing or snowshoeing. Looking for a great hike with a perfect workout? Mount Walker - only ten minutes away - quite often has winter snow without the hassle of bad driving conditions. A large kitchen, complete with dishwasher, refrigerator, range and microwave oven is awaiting your culinary expertise.
