Welcome to our spacious waterfront home located on beautiful Lake Norman in Denver, North Carolina. This home can sleep 12 in beds, has water views from almost every room, and sits peacefully on a quiet, relaxing cove. Enjoy your morning coffee on the screened-in porch overlooking 150' of lake front. Swim and play all day in our quiet cove with no boat traffic, allowing undisturbed swimming, kayaking and floating. Take to the lake in lots of uncongested areas for water activities with quick access to the main channel.
Located in the heart of Lake Norman, enjoy some of the finest eatery pubs on the lake. Go by water or land. The local favorite 'The Landing' offers live entertainment and wonderful food and is only minutes away. If the boat slips are full, the 'Tiki Taxi' will motor out to your anchored boat to bring you in. It's a one of a kind experience!
Our home offers 4 bedrooms and 2 1/2 bathrooms. We have a large, fully equipped kitchen and a large living area on both the lower and upper levels. The large master bedroom with a king-size bed and bathroom are located on the upper level with the with the kitchen, half bath and living room. The lower level holds the three other bedrooms, family room and full bathroom. Bedroom 2 has a full bed, Bedroom 3 has two sets of bunk beds (4 twins), Bedroom 4 has 2 twin beds and and adjoining room with a bunk bed (2 twins).
The home includes use of a ping pong table and kayak.
Our boat and boat lift are not included in the rental, but Lake Norman Marina is located just outside our cove, where you can rent boats.
If you like to play golf, there are two public courses nearby: West Port Golf Course is 4 miles away and Verdict Ridge is about 8 miles away.
You will need to bring your own bath towels as they are not provided.

My friends and I had an excellent stay at the lake home. The view is impeccable and the home exquisite! We would definitely recommend the stay to friends!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with young children.

The place was great. The layout was awesome and the place was clean. So glad I found this place. Also owner was very responsive and a pleasure to deal with. Betsy and Paul, I can't express in words of how happy my wife and I, as well as my children and grandchildren are at the wonderful home you call "Great Scott." I have been planning a surprise birthday party for my wife and had her convinced that we were attending the quilt show in charlotte and then going out to dinner with her brother and her sister-in-law. When we left the quilt show on Friday afternoon, my wife thought we were going to some anonynmous hotel to spend the night. When I drove up to your beautiful home, there was a banner hanging outside with 'HAPPY 80th BIRTHDAY MOM., I thought my wife would come to tears. The accommodations were wonderful, confortable, and far exceeded the price. I would certainly like to return, but, this fall we're spending a month traveling the pacific northwest. Again, many heartfelt thanks for your assistance and your lovely home. It'll be a Birthday that no one in my family will soon forget.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

6 of us sewed to our hearts' content for 3 days. The space and lighting was excellent. Taking a break and looking out at the lake was a treasure. We cooked all our meals, and the kitchen was well appointed and very easy to work in. We all had our own bed which was appreciated. We will definitely return to Great Scott - hopefull twice a year! The owners are especially accommodating. We would recommend this vacation rental to anyone and everyone!!Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

It was a great place to stay.It was close to a lot of different shopping places.Or you can just sit and enjoy the view.I have stay at many different place.This place was one of the best place that I have ever stayed.It is very clean,has a lot of room,and has a big kitchen.The people that own it are great also.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, families with teenagers, families with young children.

I had to go to NC on business and was looking for a nice place to stay. The Scott family was more than accomodating and the home was very comfortable.The master bedroom was private and the bed extremely comfortable. The kitchen was very well stocked, and the home was extremely clean. The screened-in back porch was a perfect place for morning coffee and watching the water. This would be a great romantic getaway, or a perfect family retreat. There's enough room to bring the extended family or friends and have a great time on the lake.It's a bit off the beaten path, but there's shopping near by and only a 10 min commute to all the wonderful new shopping & restaurants in Mooresville. It was perfect for my needs and I hope to return soon! The house was great and private in the cove. Betsy was wonderful to work with! IF you come, make the trip the US Whitewater Rafting Center. We did - TWICE!!!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with teenagers, families with young children.

We had a great time at Great Scott! The rooms were spacious and clean with a nice decor. Lots of beds to accommodate larger groups. The cove is excellent for swimming, kayaking and fishing. My family enjoyed every minute of our stay. We will be using Great Scott! again!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children.

"Great Scott" lived up to it's name!!! When we arrived we were welcomed with a basket of goodies on the table. The house has huge rooms and was clean and neat with everything needed to enjoy your visit on Lake Norman. The kitchen was well equipped to cook or grill outside on the porch. The cove was great for swimming, floating or kayaking as you don't have to worry about boat traffic. Thanks Betsy and Paul for a lovely stay and our special accomodation.....you can plan on us booking "Great Scott" when we visit LKN in the future.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

About the owner: Betsy grew up in Raleigh going to Falls lake to swim and ski. Paul grew up in Winston-Salem and spent good times at friend's houses on Lake Norman. We live in Clemmons now with our four children.
Why the Owner Chose Denver:
We have both had a desire to live on the water our whole lives. We started looking at beach property but realized the lake is where our hearts are. Wanting to find a place close enough to home to allow easy weekend access, we started our search on Lake Norman. We bought this beautiful home as we were expecting our fourth child. We have enjoyed years of fun on the water and in this home with friends and family.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
When we first saw this house we LOVED the cove right away. There are only two homes past ours in the cove which means adults and kids can swim and play in the water uninterrupted by boat traffic and the dock is not constantly rocking. The house has very large rooms which gives us plenty of space for our family get-togethers. We typically grill out and gather at the fire-pit in the evenings while the kids catch fireflies but we enjoy going to The Landing restaurant by boat or grilling our dinner on an island too.
