Loved the location with proximity to Magazine Street and the Zoo...which was the highlight of our stay. Best if it's a couple only in that the second fold-out bed is not that comfortable. Easy parking and access. Whole Foods just around the corner on Magazine. Will probably stay again.Recommended for: Sightseeing, romantic getaway, families with young children.

Stayed for a week and had a great time. I have used VRBO for beach properties before but never have had such a great experience. Everything you need is there, including cleaning supplies, trash bags and sponges! He also has a great collection of books and DVDs for your use. Highly recommended!!!Recommended for: Pet owners, adventure seekers, girls getaway.

Free street parking with never a problem. Quiet neighborhood streets. Friendly neighbors. Clean typical NOLA shotgun apartment. What more could we want for a five day stay? We were able to walk to Whole Foods, and many local restaurants on Magazine street. If we hadn't had the car, we would have grabbed the streetcar on St. Charles (there is a $3 all day pass available). Great kitchen for our breakfasts, and a lovely porch on the street side to enjoy the view. This is as close to an authentic stay as we could imagine. This is not the French Quarter, this is real New Orleans, bumpy streets and all. Jeff and family had everything we could need (if I say thanks for the great coffee, everyone will be wanting some, but it was a nice last minute touch), including those fantastic towels...bath sheets really, that Jeff said came from Stein Mart down the street on Tchoupitoulis. Thanks to Black Friday shopping, we got a great deal on our own set. We'll remember Camp Street every time we use them. There were stacks of books in each room, and I was able to read "Why New Orleans Matters," and a novel by the author of one of my favorite books (I didn't know Mark Haddon had written a follow up), and a Jodi Picault, and everything from Mark Twain to Tolstoy (TWO copies of "War and Peace"?), and plenty of DVD's, if you ran out of books. Did I mention how nice the porch was for reading? Jeff, we would suggest a TV channel guide for the next guests, but we did survive just fine without our CNN fix, and are gently re-entering the outside world, by way of Memphis. And a tip for the next guests: bring a roll of quarters, for the very clean laundry facilities. We should have just taken our chairs down to read outside the laundry room, but the porch was too comfortable, and the stairs provided a great workout between loads. Loved the aroma of the blossoms on the trees! Thanks again for a great stay, and we wish you all the best.Recommended for: Age 55+, sightseeing, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.

This apartment was clean and had everything we needed for a weekend stay. It was very small, but it is not misrepresented in the description. The size was perfectly adequate for a couple; although, I wouldn't want to stay here if we had our two children with us. The bed was comfortable (if you are used to sleeping in a Queen sized bed). The location was very convenient for us, and we were able to walk to restaurants and shops, as well as the music venue for a concert. The owner was helpful, and I would have felt comfortable calling him if we had needed anything. Overall, I would recommend the property, especially if you have tickets to an event at Tipitina's.Recommended for: Sightseeing, romantic getaway, tourists without a car, adventure seekers.

About the owner: I moved to New Orleans in 1993 to attend Tulane University. And the City that Care Forgot wasted no time sucking me in. As a young man, this Uptown neighborhood met my every want and need - a half block from Mardi Gras, a quick stumble to some of the best live music in the city at Tipitina's and Les Bons Temps, fine eats at Dick and Jenny's, and plenty of libations within striking distance. Now I am older, with three children, and though my needs have changed the neighborhood still provides - ice cream at Creole Creamery, snowballs at Hansen's Sno-Bliz, two playgrounds, a children's library, and pizza. And of course Mardi Gras. I have moved three times in the last 15 years. Never more than 6 blocks.
