    This unit is exactly what you see in the photos. It was clean, the views are magnificent, and the condo has everything you need. The furniture is high end & very comfortable. May is considered off season so it was very quiet. We had the pool & beach to ourselves. Don't hesitate to book a vacation in this unit!

    Recommended for: Age 55+, girls getaway, sightseeing.

    My wife and I rented a small condo in the Marathon area last winter and wanted to find a larger place for our stay this time. Also, we wanted to have a swimmable beach so we didn't have to drive anywhere if we didn't feel like it. This condo showed up in our VRBO search and was available so we started the process and arranged a booking for 2 weeks starting in late November. The owners and building manager are experts at operating a rental property and understand what it takes to ensure people have an enjoyable holiday and want to return. I have built my business on trying to always deliver more than is promised, and these people obviously share that philosophy. The place feels like home, and the beach is perfect. The whole Key Colony community is very private and secure, and we never worried about wandering around the neighbourhood; either on foot or riding the bikes that were in the garage. We made most of our meals in the well appointed kitchen using fresh fish from the local fishermen, and produce that we would buy at the farmer's market on Saturdays. Lots to do in the area if you want to be active, or lots of space on the beach if you want to just relax. We'll be back for sure.

    My husband and I got married on this beach in 2006, having leased Ted and Yvonnes condo for our honeymoon. We could not have stayed anywhere else in the world and have had the memories that we have from this ultimate beach condo. Since our original stay we have visited what we call,our home away from home two times and each time the condo had been updated and furnished with the contemporary elegance of a grand resort .The owners Yvonne and Ted, whom we have never met ,have always provided that extra special touch to make it so inviting and feel as though it is your home and that you are like family.There is nothing I can think of that they haven't thought of,to make your stay as enjoyable, relaxing and comfortable as you would like. There are so many wonderful things to do in the Keys and oh so many good restaurants, but if you just want to stay in,fix a bite to eat, have a glass of wine and stare out at the crystal blue sea and let your imagination take flight, this is the only place for you. If you ever visit and stay here,the meaning of paradise will be a reality not a fantasy. This is truly a "GEM" on Key Colony Beach.

    What can I say! The photos of this condo look absolutely wonderful and that is why we chose it but when you actually open the front door and see it for real - well it takes your breath away. The condo itself is amazing with absolutely everything you will need provided for your comfort. The views are stunning and the calming effect of the ocean and the warm sunshine soon take over and before you know it you start to chill out and relax with the warm ocean breezes on your face. We had the most amazing holiday here and because it was off season we practically had the whole place to ourselves - MAGIC! We will be back!!! Thanks to Yvonne and Ted you are sooo lucky to have such a place in paradise! Take care

    Even with the accurate photos and description, the reality was infinitely better than expected. The living space is dominated by french doors to a private balcony overlooking the beach and ocean. Since we were there in July 2012, off-season, the beach and two pools were usually empty, and allowing us to keep the doors open to allow ocean breezes and the sound of the surf to lull us to inner peace. The kitchen, which we used on a daily basis (being vegan, we avoid restaurants whenever possible) was immaculate, new, and contained literally everything we needed to cook a full range of dishes. The granite countertops and stainless steel appliances were also very utilitarian and arranged well. Having two bathrooms was also a luxury, and the unit had plenty of closet space. The furniture was immaculate and upscale, as well as being comfortable and well designed. I'm trying to think of a negative, but can't -- even the weather cooperated, never getting above 90 and sunny most days.

    I can not describe how wonderful our stay at the Monte Cristo was. It was absolute paradise. Ted and Yvonne's condo has to be one of the "warmest" and most "welcoming" vacation rentals we have ever stayed in. This feeling was in every corner of the condo, complex, and island. Our 18 and 12 year old children could not get enough of the friendly property owners within the complex. They even nicknamed one of the gentlemen, Mr. Super-nice guy!!!! Pictures do not do the condo justice! It was so wonderful to ride bikes in the evenings to the local restaurants (I highly recommend Key Colony Inn and Sparky's). My husband and I were worried that the kids would not enjoy something as low-tech as a bike ride, but could we have ever been more wrong. We drove to Key West a couple of days; it is a very easy drive from Key Colony. I would recommend "Clearly Unique Kayaks" one of the best activities for all of us. My husband and son went deep sea fishing with "Main Attraction." They are also located on Key Colony; they are highly recommended by both husband and son.

    Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

    We had another fantastic vacation staying in this unit. The condo is gorgeous, clean, and very comfortable. We are already booked and looking forward to our next vacation in this condo! We would highly recommend it to anyone considering going to the Keys. An extra perk about this particular condo is the beach. We spent hours catching crabs, baby tropical fish, and baby shrimp all without having to drive anywhere! There are also 2 pools with the perfect water temp for swimming as well as a shuffle board court, tennis court, and golf putting hole. If you want an excursion, the options abound. We spent a delightful day at Pigeon Key, and another deep sea fishing. In the past we have gone on many great snorkeling trips.

    We have been coming to the Keys for the last 3 years and this was the first time we stayed in this Condo and what an absolutely fantastic place this is, the owners can not do enough to make your stay so enjoyable from having cable TV in every room a gas BBQ on the balcony books dvd's beach towels and even toiletries.The view from the master bedroom is out of this world the wrap around balcony is a great place for breakfast to get started for the relaxing day. 2 pools a Spa and a beautiful beach what more could you ask for we are coming back for Christmas but sadly will not be staying here but we will be booking this Condo again and i would recommend this place to anyone whether this is your first time or if you have been to the keys before Key Colony is a central key and is ideal for trips to Key West and Key Largo Thank you Yvonne and Ted for a fantastic Holiday and we will be back.     We have been coming to the Keys for many years. Once we found this beautiful condo we haven't gone any place else.The condo unit is on the third floor with both elevator and stair access. We refer to it as the penthouse unit because it has an overwhelming view up and down the white sugar sand beach and a cruiseship like view of the multicolored aquamarine and blue ocean. This breath taking view is shared by the kitchen, dining area, living room and master bedroom. The open floor plan facilitates socializing. The kitchen is fully equipped and has granite countertops and island and stainless appliances.The furnishings are contemporary and stylish.The owners take obvious pride in their condo, maintain it perfectly and do everything possible to make your stay truly unforgettable.There is WiFi, and 3 flat screen TVs including a new 55" HDTV in the living room. The owners provide books, movies and other diversions. There is a large and fantastic wrap around balcony that provides the ideal spot for al freso dining, lounging and dolphin watching. Truly spectacular! The grounds are extensive, beautifully landscaped and include 2 heated pools-- one ocean front and the other in a courtyard both kept in immaculate condition by the on site management. The beach is groomed daily and makes beach combing and snorkeling fun. Other amenities include tennis and shuffleboard courts, a small putting green and the availability of bicycles. Key Colony Beach is a unique island municipality that is exercise friendly with pedestrian only walking and bicycling lanes. There are restaurants within walking distance and the nearby marina provides access to the world class sports fishing for which the Keys are so famous. Boat rentals and diving facilites are right nearby. If this sounds like we love this condo you have that correct! 5 stars don't do it justice.

    We have been coming to the Keys for many years. Once we found this condo we haven't gone any place else. The condo unit is located on the third floor directly overlooking the ocean. We call it the "penthouse" condo. It is completely and beautifully furnished and has an open floor plan. The kitchen has granite countertops and island and stainless appliances. The kitchen, dining area, living room and master bedroom all have spectacular beach and expansive ocean views and lead to a large wrap around balcony that is the perfect spot for lounging or al fresco dining. There is WiFi, 3 flatscreen TVs, one of which is a 55" HDTV in the living room. The owner makes certain everything is perfect upon your arrival and that your stay will be unforgettable. The wide beach front is white sugar sand and groomed daily. There are 2 pools... one ocean front and the other in a courtyard both kept in immaculate condition by the onsite management. The grounds are large and beautiful and contain tennis courts, a small putting green and other amenties and bicycles are available. Key Colony Beach is a wonderful island municipality. It is exercise friendly and there are pedestrian-only walking and bicycling lanes. There are restaurants within easy walking distance and various small shops. The Key Colony Beach marina is the spot to go for world class sport fishing and boat rentals and diving access is right near by. This is a spectacular vacation spot and 5 stars don't do it justice. Can you tell that we love this condo?

    We are from Germany and spend since four years our holiday in this very beautiful appartement The condo is very clean and well maintained. The owners invest every year, great. It has an luxury equipment. we are enthusiastic from the appartement and the whole property. The manager and the owners are very friendly and helpful. We can only recommend this house.     we are travelling as a family with two children (4 and 2 years old) and we had a fantastic stay in this condo. We were happy that all pictures which are shown in the Internet are completly real. We had a privat beach and a privat pool. All areas (beach,pool,house)are very clean and very good maintained. Yvonne and Ted as well as all neighbours are very friendly and open for good tips for trips during our stay. Furthermore the condo is very good equipped and the view is unbelievable. We really enjoyed our breakfasts during the sunrise on the balcony.We definetly come back again when we will be in Florida again. Thank you very much for a great stay in your condo.

    Wow!! We opened the front door and all we could see was wall to wall crystal blue ocean. The condo itself was beautiful….Miami Contemporary with all the amenities of my home. Flat screen televisions, dvd player, surround sound and a top of the line kitchen. Although, honestly I didn’t cook dinner once, we eat breakfast and lunch on the wrap around terrace occasionally spotting dolphins. During our stay we played tennis, swam in the pool and rested on the beach… only steps away from the condo. One day my husband took my sons to a nearby 9 hole par 3 golf course. Another day we went fishing on the Lady Marathon and caught lots of fish! Another day we did a snorkeling trip on a catamaran to the Sombrero Lighthouse. We also took a trip down to Key West…only a 45 minute to 1 hour drive. In Key West, we went to Ernest Hemmingway’s House/Museum, a butterfly conservatory, strolled down Mallory Square to watch the street performers and then went to a fabulous, romantic restaurant called Louie’s Backyard. Overall, we had a fabulous time relaxing and doing tons of adventures. I will definitely book this vacation again!

    Great vacation and great condo facility! We are a family of 4- two teens.The apartment itself exceeded our expectations. When we first walked in our breath was taken away by the the ocean views. We literallly did not notice the luxurious, contemporary and high end decor -because all you see out the wall to wall windows...is emerald green and blue ocean! The open floor plan allowed for all of us to "hang out" and enjoy. The apartment was comfortable, inviting chic and sophisticated. We ate breakfast and lunch on the wrap around balcony every day and watched the boats go by. The owners left us a great welcome present as well as in "inside scoop" on restaurants, activities and cool sights to see that you would not know about if you did not live here. The apartment was impeccably clean and inviting. And, it was loaded with all the extras one could need -shampoo,lotion,bug spray, games, DVD's, books, puzzles. We really felt that the owners went out of their way to make our stay an incredible experience. Tennis, shuffleboard, snorkeling, hot tub, putting green - all on the the premises. The kids were able to keep themselves entertained -a nd when the sun got to be too much....the apartment offered wifi, and a TV in every room. Favorite sights: John Pennecamp Park, 3 mile runs on the KCB causeway, El Siboney Cuban food, snorkeling off the private beach, fishing with the kids on Lady Marathon ( and cooking the caught fish for lunch!) sitting on the balcony and staring out at the ocean- and relaxing in luxury in top shelf condo unit! I would highly reccommend this unit to any one coming out to this area. It is everything the website says it is and more!!
