Cozy house on the lake -- beautiful property!

My husband and I rented this vacation property for the weekend on my husband's birthday. This house was the perfect birthday present. The house is cute, cozy yet roomy and the yard is so big and beautiful; it exceeded our expectations. With it being fully fenced and right on the lake, our two dogs had the time of their lives. We all loved warming up next to the woodstove at night. We loved this house and property so much we didn't want to leave!!!! Thank you for sharing your home with us. We plan on coming back soon!!!

I was worried the the size of the house was going to feel crowded for our family of 6 but it was perfect. Very tranquil and room for everyone to spread out and do there thing. We were stuck indoors most of the time and we had no complaints! We are hoping to return in the spring.

A nice peacfull place to stay. Close to the ocean, dunes, and the lake it self has very good fishing. It is very pet freindly and I paln to stay there next fall. Much better than staying in any local hotel!

We had an absolutely wonderful time at this property. The on-line photos did not even do it justice. The property is large, great for our dogs to play on the lawn and in the lake. The house is spacious and comfortable and extremely clean and well kept. I would recommend this property to anyone and we will be back! Thanks,

My family did a vacation house swap with the Johnson's and it was the best idea ever!! We enjoyed all the birds coming to the feeders and on the lake. The fishing from the dock was outstanding although the lake was a little low. The best part was when Kerry took my sons and I crabbing in his boat, we caught 35 crab and he showed us how to clean and cook them. This is also the best place if you have a dog because of the very large fenced in property. We will be making this trade several times a year!!

To begin with, the lake was so low and weedy that I couldn't launch my 15' boat for fishing. The exterior of the house is covered in cob webs and the garage windows are blacked out with old newspapers. The carpet was covered in stains. After settling in, my kids decided to take the canoe, that we rented from the owners, out for a spin. It was locked up with no key. Toilet paper is not supplied "due to theft". Dog hair is not allowed to get on the couch or it is considered a breach of the rental agreement. Definitely not "pet friendly". The only reason I gave this property a "Fair" rating is that it has a nice large completely fenced yard.

I understand about the weeds and low water, maybe you can talk to the County about the weeds at the ramp and to God about the lack of rain. While you are at it please talk to Mother Nature about the spiders!! I spend half the summer washing them off and they are back in a day!! (We do not use chemicals on them in case guests are allergic) We put up the newspapers because one of our regulars didn’t want people looking in on his ATVs. We will take them down for your next visit We will talk to the carpet cleaning company and show them your comment, they just don’t seem to believe us when we say they aren’t getting some stains out. I am a little confused on the boat key when we said we will run it right out you said “Oh we are coming to town and can pick it up” It clearly says in the rental agreement pets are not allowed on furniture. I will make it bold text for you next time. I will also bold the part about cleaning up after your dog. You missed that to. You had two rolls of toilet paper to use, I am sorry you had to run out for more. Maybe you should look at your diet? Just a thought. Thanks about the fence!! Several of our regulars said they hate leaving their dogs in a crate when out on the Dunes. So we built the fence, I think even you would think that can be considered pet friendly. Oh and Mike you forgot to mention you posted this comment two months after your stay when we said you are not getting your entire cleaning deposit back because of the pets. Also interesting is you did not book through VRBO yet you left a comment here and VRBO let you leave an unvaried negative comment. Isn’t the internet great!?
