Perfect spot in Wilmington!
Perfect spot in Wilmington!
Went to a wedding in Wilmington and stayed there with my parents, wife, and 1yo son. 1. Location - Perfect spot, on a quiet street but only 2 blocks away from the action. We walked everywhere. 2. House - Much bigger than we expected :) 2 bedrooms and a large bathroom upstairs. Beds and pillows were very comfortable, mom fell in love with the mattress and pillows. Kitchen fully stocked with everything you could need, family room and dining room were very nice. Deck off the back was very pretty and relaxing. Home was also spotless, showed how much Kaki cares about her property. All in all, we will for sure stay there again when visiting Wilmington, much better experience then staying in a hotel. Thanks Kaki

Spent several days in Wilmington with "Lil Blu" as our home base. Cozy home with all the amenities we needed. Great location within short walking distance to so much. The owner was very helpful and easy to contact. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone staying in Wilmington.

Owner response: It was a pleasure to have a family that appreciated our home as you all did. Thank you for your TLC and kind review; I hope you come back, receive a 'returner's' discount and try to enjoy Li'l Blu as much as we do!
We visited Wilmingto for the weekend to direct my niece's wedding. We didn't get too spend much time relaxing but because the location was so close to the waterfront we did get to stroll down for dinner and ice cream. We got lucky to be there while Riverfest was going on so we got to see fireworks. Again, great location.

Lil Blu is the Perfect Home Away from Hime
Lil Blu is the Perfect Home Away from Hime
We absolutely loved this property. Located in the Historic District we were in walking distant to the Riverfront and tons of great restaurants. The kitchen is well stocked for a foodie who loves to cook. The pond in the yard was our morning sanctuary. All of the rooms are spacious and tastefully decorated. We spent many evenings waving to the tours going by on horse drawn carriage. Wilmington is a great place to vacation with same children. The Children's Musuem, Halyburn Nature Center, New Hanover County Arborteum and the Train Muesum are must stops in addition to the 3 beaches a short drive away. Also you can catch blue crabs easily at the Carolina Beach State Park, which has great walks and kayak rentals at the small marina. We will return to this property and have recommended it to all of our friends.

Great week at L'il Blu!
Great week at L'il Blu!
We had a wonderful stay at L'il Blu during a week in Wilmington. The property is in a great location in the historic district within walking distance to the riverfront yet on a quiet street. You can watch the horse carriage and trolley tours go by from the front window and walk a few blocks to some of the historic homes open for tours. The house itself is very clean, updated and well-maintained. The quality of the furnishings and interior seem to suggest that a professional decorator helped with the house. The owner was very good about communicating and even called to be sure everything was okay when we arrived at the rental. We had two adults and three children ranging in ages from 5 to 7 in our party. The children especially enjoyed watching fish and tadpoles in the pond on the back deck. We would love to stay here again during future trips to Wilmington! Recommended attractions: Bellamy mansion, Burgwin-Wright museum house, boat tour on the Cape Fear river, Cape Fear Serpentarium

Great house in a great location!
Great house in a great location!
We had a wonderful time during our stay at L'il Blue! My fiance's business partner lives in Wilmington so we came to town on a combination of business and pleasure. We both work from home regularly so while in town he would go work at their house and I worked from the comfort of L'il Blue's living room. It was the perfect setup, with a desk right by the back door so I could sit and work by the open door, looking out onto the fabulous back deck and fish pond. The house was just as described in the listing - very well maintained and in great condition. One of the best parts? ... we got to bring our dogs for a very reasonable deposit/fee. The house is in the heart of the Historic district so there were beautiful homes everywhere you looked. Just a five minute walk from downtown Wilmington, we were able to explore during the late afternoons and evenings and found many great places to eat; Front Street Brewery, Circa 1922, Black Sea Grill and Yosake just to name a few. The owner was very helpful and attentive - you can really tell how much she loves and cares for her house! I would recommend this to anyone traveling to Wilmington for business or pleasure and we will definitely check availability on L'il Blue first the next time we come to Wilmington!

Excellent Review for L'il Blu
Excellent Review for L'il Blu
My wife found this house for our family of five after a mix-up with the rental of another downtown Wilmington house left us without a place to stay. What luck! We could not have been happier during our stay at L'il Blu. The house was immaculate when we arrived, and as we used more of the space and appliances throughout the week, we always found what we needed. As odd as it sounds, even though the house only has two bedrooms, L'il Blu suited our family very well. The kids (oldest 10, youngest 5) slept in one room (the two younger ones sharing a double bed and the other sleeping on the single. The owner had left detailed instructions on how to get into the house, how to turn on the water heater, how to work the brand new infrared gas grill, when to roll the trash and recycling out to the curb (though both bins had been emptied when we arrived), anything we needed to know. All appliances were not only brand new, due to a recent renovation, but also of the kind of top quality that most anyone would be delighted to have in his/her permanent home. The back deck that surrounds a shallow fish pond was a great place to hang out and certainly helps to give the house the feel of a larger place than its inside square footage would suggest. Our girls spent countless hours using the perimeter of the pond as a staging area for an imaginary Doll Club Med Resort, and whenever we arrived back at the house, they would rush directly out there to start up their pretend game or check out the tadpoles. L'il Blu's location seems ideal for the historic district. It is just one block off Front Street, the main downtown Wilmington street, and a pretty easy six blocks from the center of town. Great location, no traffic noise. We walked downtown to eat several times. (Recommend: the Flying Pi for breakfast or lunch, Slice of Life for pizza, Front Street brewery for a good meal and Port City Java for coffee.) I was working while the family was in Wilmington, and the WiFi in the house was plenty fast and the phone signal on the property strong. I spent a couple of mornings working at the table (under a lovely trellis of vines) on the back deck. When I needed something printed, I called the folks two blocks away at Dock Street Printing, emailed it to them, and they printed it out when I walked down. Bottom line: We had a great week. The owner treats this house not as a rental, but as a "home" for other people. We would L'il Blu again in a heartbeat -- and we just might.
