My wife and I liked this condo with lots of sun, fully equipped kitchen, great reading selection and nice view of the Bay Bridge, currently lit up at night! It is convenient to the library, grocery store and bus lines 10, 22 &19. The owner was nice, very responsive and easy to deal with! The owner thought of everything to make our stay terrific including the touring information. Will rent again.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+, romantic getaway.

This is a great apartment within the quaint Potrero Hill neighborhood! It's perfect for a couple. The apartment has beautiful views and is bright, sunny, and clean. The kitchen is fully stocked with tools to cook and the bedroom is very comfy. We enjoyed our stay immensely. The neighborhood is really cute, with great coffee shops and restaurants within walking distance. The owner was professional and made the booking/renting process easy. We would definitely go back.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, romantic getaway.

I arranged for my overseas family member to stay for 20 days, and overall it was a great experience. My family member enjoys cooking and the well-equipped kitchen was a big plus. The bedroom was spacious with lots of room to store his luggage and personal items. Views from the bedroom/living room was spectacular at night with the Bay and the Bay Bridge. It was also stunning when the AT&T stadium was playing the fireworks. Owner was always responsive to my enquires, and provided flexibility when the travel plan changed. I would recommend it to young, or age 50+/- couples. The unit is on the third floor, the elderly might find a bit difficult to climb the stairs. It would also be nice to have cable TV or at least basic TV network channels. But nevertheless, my family member enjoyed the stay very much and kept calling this place "feels like home."Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, people with disabilities, age 55+, romantic getaway.

We stayed for a week and found the condo warm and comfortable all around. Incredibly well-stocked, which is not the norm in my experience. We cooked most breakfasts and dinners, a big advantage, and had everything we needed, and more! Slept well in a comfy bed, and awoke to that view -- amazing! Laundry available. The neighborhood was nice, and so different. Very hilly, but with 3 bus lines available (and we used them all) it didn't matter. 2 good little groceries within 3 blocks. Farley's on 18th a great spot for coffee, the neighborhood spot. We ate at Pera's and loved it. We had plenty of helpful information waiting for us to make good choices. Parking in the neighborhood is readily available with no time limits. Oh! And it's quiet! A very worthy VRBO.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, age 55+, romantic getaway.

This place is simply amazing. After the hustle and bustle of the city, it was nice to get away to some peace and quiet. The views from the apartment were stunning. The kitchen had all the tools , pots and pans that we needed. We loved the collection of books in the apartment. The apartment was clean and functional. The neighborhood was quiet and family orientated. There was a Whole Foods only four streets away. We became accustomed to the MUNI system and the stop is right outside the apartment. We would definitely stay here again. We loved our stay in San Francisco. The stay was enhanced by the comforts of this apartment. It was cozy and made us feel like we were at home.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, romantic getaway.

This condo is a fabulous place to stay in San Francisco. The pictures and description are completely right on. This is a very very comfortable and usable space. Let's start with the kitchen. Gourmet all the way. Great stove, dish washer and refrigerator and all the other small appliances you would ever need. Plus an amazing array of spices and condiments. Plus the owner left a pound of coffee, two bottles of wine and assorted snacks for our use. Very welcoming. The bed is super comfy with flannel sheets and a down comforter. The living room is very nicely furnished. The apartment is decorated with art works the owner has collected from around the world. Just lovely. There's an extensive DVD collection and a flat screen TV and wifi. Everything was spotless and well maintained. And then there's the view. Wow, looking over the roof tops to the bay and the bay bridge was endlessly fascinating. The condo is on the third floor but the stairs were never a problem (we're both in our 60's). There are lots of really good restaurants and grocery stores within walking distance. We especially enjoyed Chez Papa (real French food), Chez Maman (best burger in SF) and Plow (yummy breakfast and lunch). It may seem unbelievable but there is really plenty of parking. We rented a car and never had a problem finding a space. The owner was very helpful and responded immediately to our questions. Couldn't ask for a better host. I would heartily recommend this property to family and friends.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 2/2

Throughout our only five-day-long visit in SF, we’ve felt as if we lived there, thanks to the climate of the owner’s apartment. Its brightness, well-roundness (all sorts of literature and artifacts from many parts of the world), a fully equipped kitchen, including access to spices, coffee, and tableware, as well as blankets and pillows on the sofa in the living room contributed to this very quaint accent at the end of daily trips of the city and its surroundings. Views of the Bay Bridge and the Bay taking up a significant area of the wall space in the bedroom and in the kitchen are definite ?pluses? of the apartment. The windows are big, and they do open for a breeze to pass through. The location of the apartment at the top (third) level of the building and at the top of the hill creates perfect conditions for cooling winds all day and night ? a pleasant experience especially in evening and at night. Air-conditioning system is indeed redundant. The downside of the convenience (large and sliding windows) may be a requirement for additional supervising of a child on your part, if you travel in company of a minor, but only if your child is a young and active climber/explorer. I would not advise the place for very your children anyways because of an easy access to many artifacts displayed around the apartment as well as a need to walk up three stories. The latter precaution applies as well to an elderly with limited mobility. The location of the apartment in the Potrero Hill district, which is only about 2 miles away from the Mission Street and the neighboring Valencia Street in the Mission District, is truly a convenience for anyone who likes to spend evening way from the San Francisco tourist crowds and instead chooses to stroll streets filled with galleries and restaurants in search for good Caribbean or Central American cuisine, music, and art. Mission Street and Valencia Streets offer both with the latter being more on the fancy end of the spectrum. If you choose to spend an evening in the Mission, leave your car behind and take a cab. A difficulty to find a parking space may take away from an enjoyment of the evening. Learn from our lesson! On the positive note, parking near the apartment was never a problem. The Whole Foods store which is just two streets away is another convenient location near the owner’s apartment. Be aware of a need to walk up and down a couple of hilly streets, if you choose to exercise your feet. In essence, two thumbs up!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

Owner info
Year Purchased: 2001
About the owner: Native Midwesterner, California transplant in 1998. Consultant to the biotech industry who travels the country and world. Second home is New Orleans. Lucky me! Currently living in Europe.
Why the Owner Chose Potrero Hill:
Potrero Hill is a true neighborhood, which appeals to my Midwestern sensibilities. The folks here largely own versus rent, are very invested in the neighborhood and very neighborly (for San Francisco, which can be a very transient town).
The Unique Benefits at this Condo:
Views and quiet. Back of the building so off street. I built a window seat to take advantage of the spectacular city and bay view and can wile away hours reading or just staring.
