Take the shuttle to ski areas, Children's World Ski School, mountain village, and avoid the hassle of parking. Golf at the Squaw Creek Resort, or go horseback riding at the nearby stables. Alpine Meadows is one mile, the lake is five miles and Northstar less than 30 minutes away. In summer do the five miles to Tahoe City and the lake on the beautiful bike, skate, and walk trail alongside the Truckee River, and drift back in a raft.
Apres Skiing: Seven minutes gets you to the lively fun of the newly completed mountain village with scores of shops, bars, and world class restaurants like Plumpjack's, Gordon's, Mamasake Sushi, Tantara Bakery, Bistro and Beyond. New shops include the Waxen Moon candle-making studio, Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory, Black Diamond Wine Exchange, Surefoot custom foot beds, Tails by the Lake pet boutique, Mountain West Sports Systems, Splash Bath and Body Works, and Ben and Jerry’s Ice Creamery.
In the summertime, head to some of the best white sand beaches on the Lake - Tahoe City Beach and Marina, Kings Beach, Tahoe State Park, and recreation area. Here you can rent a boat, kayak, jet-ski and other water toys, or just relax on the shoreline with a good book. Some of the best lakeside restaurants and golf courses are here, along with shops offering local artist fares. Nightlife? Yes... Crystal Bay is ten miles away and offers gambling, nighttime shows, and Tahoe nostalgia of the Frank Sinatra days at Cal Neva.
As you walk into the foyer, there is a huge room to the side with two queen beds and attached bath. One level above is the "Great Room." This open space has a beautiful living and dining room, a fireplace, a powder room with lacquered walls, a beautifully equipped kitchen, and a deck with a barbecue and expansive views of the valley. The oversize sofa can turn into a queen bed for those extra members of the group. Here you will find a TV, VCR, Cable, and a music system with surround sound - recessed lighting with dimmers. The kitchen is well equipped with barware and utensils. etc.
Up another level is the master bedroom with King, and two other bedrooms with queen-size beds. The master bedroom has a 27 inch TV, VCR, and DVD. This is a perfect area for a family with separate double vanities and a bath, and gorgeous views of surrounding mountains and pine forests. All the beds have Ralph Lauren bedding/duvets, and the rooms with beam ceilings abound in soft luxury.
