Connors Lake is located 3 hours east of the Twin Cities, 4 hours north of Madison & Milwaukee and 6 hours north of Chicago in southeast Sawyer County.
We're truly one of Northern Wisconsin's most scenic destinations - surrounded by state and national forests. Our beautiful secret, known as Connors Lake, is far removed from overbuilt resort areas. And Connors Lake is one of the clearest in the region!
Our lakeside cabin on the secluded west shore of Connors Lake is well-appointed with four bedrooms, two lofts, fireplace, wet bar, gourmet kitchen and cedar soaking tub. Whether you're here for a quiet weekend getaway for 2 or a family reunion you'll have a memorable stay.
There are wonderful views of Connors Lake from the great room and living room. The state of the art kitchen is fully equipped - enjoy our herb garden. Grill out with a Weber Genesis Silver Grill on the 500 square foot deck overlooking the lake. Walk down to the water's edge where there's fishing and swimming off the dock, plus a bonfire pit for the evening's s'mores. Relax and enjoy the sky and solitude in a "Seattle Snorkel" wood-fired cedar soaking tub. (available May to mid-September)
We feature six separate sleeping areas, four bedrooms and two lofts - enough to comfortably accommodate 2-14 with all the bed linens supplied. The master suite has a private bath, walk-in closet and rough-hewn pine-log bed. Up above is a large bedroom with pine-log bed and northwoods armoire. Below are two spacious bedrooms one with a full sized bed and the other with 2 twin beds.
On either side of the greatroom there are two sleeping lofts with a total of five twin beds. The lofts are accessible by pine log ladders that the kids will love. NEED A CRIB? - yes, we have an infant crib suitable for 0-2 years old and a high-chair.
The main bath features slate floor and wall tile and a double sink. Washer and dryer are on the lower level.
Water sports and hiking in the nearby state forest are an essential part of your northwoods vacation. The lake is at your front door and we're two miles from the scenic and smooth flowing Flambeau River and five miles from great white water rafting on the South Fork of the Flambeau. Canoe trips can be arranged at the nearby Big Bear Lodge. At the north end of the lake is the state park beach, recreation area and public boat launch. Motors are allowed on Connors Lake.
Ready for exceptional northern, bass, panfish and muskie fishing? Professional fishing guides are available from our neighbors at the Flambeau Forest Inn. We have information about seasonal hunting.
When the lake freezes you can light the fire and enjoy a winter paradise for snowmobiles (hundreds of miles of trails!), cross-country skiing, skating and ice fishing. Downhill skiing is 1-2 hours away.
Believe it or not?? Although we are in the middle of the state forest we've got three exceptional restuarant choices within a few miles! Enjoy very fine dining northwoods-style at the Cabin on Connors Restaurant - it's within walking distance! Homestyle cooking is the specialty at the Big Bear Lodge and our family voted the Flambeau Forest Inn's ribeye steak sandwich as "world-class".
