  We just got back from a 3 week Portugal/Spain trip where we spent 4 nights in the ESTEVAO I apartment. The good: -Great location, many different restaurants and cafe's all around. We especially enjoyed the side street places, really good food and incredibly cheap prices. -Friendly neighborhood, we didn't speak Portuguese but didn't have any problems ordering food or asking questions. Between most people speaking a little english, us speaking some Spanish, we always seemed to be able to get our point across. -Comfortable bed, relevantly quiet neighborhood. You might be woken up every once in a awhile but the fan or AC drowns out most street noise. -Had a little miscommunication on where to meet, but once our guide met us with us, he was really good. Helped map out where some stores and good restaurants were for us. Functional Washer/Dryer combo unit, we used it several times and hung on provided rack to finish drying. Worked Great. Internet provided and had no problems with access. The Bad: -Kitchen did have cockroaches, everything was sealed up when we got there, not sure if there is a messy neighbor or if this is just to be expected. -Only one Small window AC unit downstairs, doesn't work that great. I'm familiar with the EU AC units from the other apartments and this one didn't work as well as the others. -Really narrow spiral staircase, if you are a larger person this might not work for you. Tips: -Use the Tourist Information booths and center downtown, by far the most helpful of any city we visited on this trip. -You have to take the 40 min train ride to Sintra to see the Moorish Castle and old Royal Palace, that ended up being the highlight of our trip. -Eat dinner in the little alley restaurants, then get desserts/wine at the Prado places. The Prado (singing) restaurants charge way more for dinner and the food isn't as good. We always got great food and I love the wines, which were only 4-8 euros a bottle!

  A couple with a 10-month old baby: It is a wonderful and charming place to stay. It has everything you need although it is very small. But we think it was the best place to stay in Lisabon. Alfama is the most interesting district in this city. If you chose this place you just live there where other tourists come and take pictures since it is such a nice place. First we had some doubts since we had a baby trolley and we were not sure if it is convenient with a baby but it was really a great decision. We left our trolley in the staircase - nobody said sth against - Portugese people love kids! However, we used most of the time a baby carrier (manduca) - which was easier in this hilly city. But we were also walking with a trolley. Fatima, Eduardo and Paula were very professional from the very first email. I could hardly belive that it is true - the service was so good! ;-) They answered every questions immediately and we knew that we can always count on them. A supermarket was max 10 minutes walking distance. Besides that there are many small groceries just round the corner. Bus stop is also max 10 mins walking distance. The famous tram is very close to the flat. As I said, the best place to stay.

  Diese kleine Wohnung war für unseren Lissabon-Aufenthalt von drei Tagen perfekt! Die Lage im malerischen Stadtteil Alfama ist wunderbar zentral, doch ruhig und sehr romantisch. Vom Flughafen kostet das Taxi nur circa 12 Euro. Wir wurden herzlich von Fatima empfangen, sie bot uns reichlich Zusatzinfos und ihre Hife bei allen Fragen. Die Wohnung war gut ausgestattet und sehr sauber, bequeme Betten. Sicher werden wir wieder hier wohnen wollen, wenn wir nach Lissabon reisen und die Unterkunft auch unseren Freunden empfehlen.   This comfortable and tastefully furnished 1-bedroom apartment is a cozy and charming apartment which is conveniently located in a great location in a typical building in Alfama. This historical neighborhood gives a special point of view to “feel” and explore Lisboa. It’s very special when you re able to open the window and listen Fado music from local restaurants. A lot of nice restaurants, grocery stores and bakeries are vey close to apartment, Also all local transport, taxi, metro, train stations. When we arrived Fatima waited for us, she is very nice, polite and warm. She spent more than 45 min with us giving all useful information and kindly answering about everything we wanted to know. The apartment is very clean, and equipped with many devices and household appliances. We definitely recommend this nice apartment in a heart of Alfama.

  The apartment was perfect! We really enjoyed staying in the Alfama, as it was just steps away from every intersting places. Edurado and Fatima are very kind and efficent. Very good.

  Great place to stay in Lisbon. Apartment is not very big, but big enough for two. We received a very warm welcome and were told a lot of information about the neighborhood. It's really great that there was still some kitchen stuff left by other guests, like salt/pepper/spaghetti, washing soap,... etc Because there was a washing machine we returned home with all our clothes already washed. This was a very nice surprise. You can go walking distance to al lot of places, and quite close you can get the bus/metro/train or tram. There was also free wifi wich was very handy in looking up places to see the next day, or to upload pictures to relatives. So if i were to recommend one place, it will be "Pois, Café". Go there, (preferably at noon) and grab one of the very tasteful bites and a nice coffee. So overall we were very very happy with our stay. Very friendly people! I would really recommend this to my friends.

  Perfect. A wonderful stay, very well placed apartment, in full center of Alfama, close to all the transport, nights are magic and the owner is remarkable, a big kindness, a lot of attention! We were all delighted with the welcome, it was better that in the hotel! The apartment is of an irreproachable cleanliness, a modern equipment and the decoration is very smart. We appreciated a lot the place and we shall return, it is sure! Thank you Fatima!

  The apartment was absolutely perfect! The accommodations, location and amenities were all just wonderful. We really enjoyed staying in the Alfama, as it was just steps away from restaurants and shops, but still very quiet for sleeping at night. The wifi, tv/dvd player and washer/dryer were all amenities that made our stay so much easier, and we loved listening to the fado cd's in the evening. Thank you to our hosts for the easy reservation process. Thank you also for the many restaurant recommendations, which we enjoyed very much. We hope to get back to Lisbon for another visit some day!

  Very nice location of apartment and very well equipped. Lovely renovated details. Nice look over the roofs of Alfama. I only can recommend this location. The owners are very friendly. Thanks to Fatima! Also for the transportation service which I really appreciated.
