This home is a beautiful place to rest and relax. We came down on a fishing trip and were surprised at how well maintained this home was. The owners are very nice people and were more than hospitable. There is a creek side picnic table, sun porch, room to sleep 8 comfortably, nice kitchen, dining area, and covered parking. I will be coming back to this home ( If the Overbecks will have me). It`s secluded for your privacy and right in the middle of your favorite fishing spots. Awesome home!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, girls getaway, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, sightseeing, families with young children, people with disabilities.
Owner response: We are happy to hear that you enjoyed your stay! We hope you are able to return in the future.

My girlfriend and I stayed here for 5 nights and it was amazing! Quiet, clean, fully equipped and Christy and Doug were wonderful! Little details like the outdoor shower and hose were so appreciated. The description of the property was bang on and I hope to return in the near future.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, sightseeing, families with young children, people with disabilities.
Owner response: Doug and I enjoyed meeting you! We are glad that you enjoyed your stay and hope to see you in the future!

The property was exactly as described. The owner, Christy, could not have been more accomodating and sweet. I felt so lucky to have made this discovery and will definitely stay here again when I make it back to the beautiful OBX. It was just minutes from the Hatteras Lighthouse. The ocean and/or sound side of the island was just a very short drive...we could have actually walked. The house is conveiniently located close to restuarants, shopping and grocery stores. We experienced beautiful sunrise/sunsets during our walks on the beach and were even fortunate enough to find a treasure in the sand, sea glass! I just want to stay longer on our return visit!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, girls getaway, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, tourists without a car, age 55+, sightseeing, families with young children, people with disabilities.
Owner response: Thanks for the kind words. We are always happy to hear that people enjoy the island and all it has to offer. Congratulations on the sea glass, it can be a bit hard to find during the busy summer season! We hope you will visit again in the future.

This was a family vacation for us. So there were several generations represented. The children loved that the home was within quick driving distance of the beach. They also loved, loved the play station, and the board games (thanks for helping us entertain them). We loved the location of the house. It is in a very quiet neighorhood. The sleeping accommodations were wonderful. The most wonderful thing about the house was the owner. She was so very helpful with everything. She made us feel so welcome. My family and I hope to stay again in the Creekside house. Thanks for a GREAT VACATION!!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, girls getaway, families with teenagers, age 55+, sightseeing, families with young children, people with disabilities.
Owner response: We are really happy to hear that you enjoyed the cottage. Having 3 children ourselves, we know how important it is to keep them occupied on a rainy day. Glad the kids enjoyed the games and we hope to see you again in the future.

We rented this cottage on very short notice for just a few days in the peak of tourist season. We were amazed at the beauty of the cottage and the attention to detail within. We were expecting the standard cramped "beach box" but the home was incredibly spacious and decorated well with comfortable furniture. Typically the maximum occupancy would end up being stuffed together at a vacation rental. That is not the case at all here, 7 people could fit comfortably in this home. The home was meticulously maintained and very clean with quality linens when we arrived. I highly recommend considering this property if you're okay with being off of the oceanfront. It is a little hard to find at first but that keeps it secluded. We would definitely rent this cottage again and again. Thanks so much for sharing it with us, Christy!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, girls getaway, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, age 55+, families with young children.
Owner response: So glad you enjoyed your stay! We hope you are able to come again to see the changes and upgrades we are making as time goes by.

About the owner: We live in Frisco with our three daughters and love life here on Hatteras Island. Doug is a law enforcement officer and Christy helps operate a little local shop with her mother. When time allows we enjoy time spent at the beach or on our family boat. We also enjoy hunting, fishing, backpacking, and lots of other outdoor activities.
Why the Owner Chose Frisco:
We enjoy visits from family and friends, but have a pretty full house with three children. Creekside was purchased in April of 2012 primarily so that friends and family could visit us and enjoy island life with us for awhile. The cottage is adjacent to our personal property, and we think of Creekside as more of a guest house than a vacation rental. We hope you will feel as comfortable there as our friends and family do!
The Unique Benefits at this House:
Quiet neighborhood with lots of privacy, but still not far away from the beach or shopping. Great place to unwind after a day of sightseeing or fun in the sun.
