My family and myself had a wonderful time at rancho Cajun. Cannot beat the convenience from San Salvador, next time I shall go straight from the airport. Shall skip San Salvador La libertad is a safe place to be, I had visited El Salvador prior years, and always hear the excuse, no way La Libertad..but they had to admit, they were wrong! Also the convinience to everywhere, not found in Costa del Sol, as per my sister. The Cajun ranch offers privacy, Jackie will be happy to arrange for trips to town. Yes, Jackie is always there to help! As for little stores, whatever pasaje one walk to, there always a little store, the same as for food vendors. But do please order dinner, unless you plan to cook. One can take the bus, in the second row, it announce when it comes to San Diego, and only $0.25 a ride, takes you to el puerto, as well, there are other buses a el Puerto, if you want to explore the other beaches. The house is very nice kept, every detail is taking care of, and what pictures you see on line, that's what it is found. I am looking forward for my next visit, shall leave my husband at the ranch, while I take the bus and explore the makets. Again, thank you. We had a lovely stay.

Owner response: Thank you so much for a great review. I am so happy that & your family enjoyed Rancho Cajun. My only regret is that I didn't get to meet you or your family. Hopefully next time you visit Rancho Cajun I won't be on vacation in the U.S. The good news is I am glad Jackie took such good care of you as she aways does all my guest. I hope to see you in the future.

A beautiful and charming way to begin the new year. It was nice to be able to find such a lovely place in my own country. The stay here was pleasant and soothing. The property is in great shape, comfortable, clean with plenty of space for families, friends, or any one you may want to entertain. The food was excellently prepared by the grounds manager, Jackie, who along with her family maintain the grounds in top shape and provide excellent and non intrusive service. The weather is excellent, any time of the year, so the quick access to the beach and the open patio is always inviting. The pool is maintained daily, grounds are manicured at all times. A real slice of paradise. My stay is to be remembered for years to come and I'm defintely looking forward to staying here again. My thanks to all for the great memories. See you soon.

We loved our stay at Casa Cajun!!! We are an extended family (9 in total) coming from the US and Sweden- including middle aged folks, surfers, babies and teenagers. All had a great time! The house is comfortable, and the layout totally conducive to relaxation and having a good time together. The beach is beautiful and clean and the location perfect - only a few minutes from the airport - a short drive to the Port of La Libertad - and a 35 minute drive to San Salvador. We got a lot of sightseeing done during our stay. The staff was wonderful and friendly - super responsive, even when we just needed peace! The community at San Diego beach was perfect for us. A mixture of local residents, and folks with vacation homes. Very low key and quiet but interesting and colorful. We felt very safe, as there is a 24 hour police station on the next block! We bought tortillas and pan dulce in the neighborhood and had a true Salvadorian experience. We drove to the pier at the Port of La Libertad and bought 8 lobsters for $25 and cooked them up on the grill - amazing - some cold Pilsner beer and we were in heaven. This is the place for you if you are looking for a comfortable, family friendly, convenient place. It is well maintained and well run. Dianne the owner is kind, friendly and responsive. This is not, however, your all inclusive canned stardard kind of experience, so if that's what you are looking for, please leave Casa Cajun to us - as we will definitely be coming back! We stayed for 10 days, but wanted to stay longer. Next time we will plan ahead!

We had a great experience renting this house. It is directly on the beach, meaning you walk outside the gate of your backyard and you are there. The house is spacious, more than enough room for a big group with a large living room overlooking the beach, a bathroom in each of the three bedrooms and a nice sized eat-in kitchen. If you stay here, I recommend that you pay the extra cost to get the cleaning and cooking services. Jackie & Evelyn, the women who did the cooking and cleaning, really made our vacation experience great. Jackie accompanied us to the grocery store, the fish market, the food market and showed us around the mercado of La Libertad. And we especially appreciated the cleaning, with all of us surfing and going to the beach every day, we tracked sand into the house which had to be swept daily. After a day of sightseeing, surfing, or a late night, it was especially nice to have a delicious breakfast, lunch and dinner prepared for us. Logistically speaking, the house was perfect. It was 10 minutes from La Libertad, and located on a street with little restaurants and bars. What is perhaps more important, we felt safe here. The owner of the house lives next door and is really great. We went out to dinner together and she came over to the house to ensure everything was to our satisfaction. She's willing to hang with you but if you need privacy, she's considerate of that as well. Overall, an unforgetable experience. Would definitely stay here again!!!!!

This is a great place to stay. The house is great and the view is fantastic and the swimming pool is really nice. The owner is super helpfully. The pots and pans are a bit dated but overall this place is great. We have been to Belize and Costa Rica several times but we really enjoyed El Salvador. Not alot of tourist there yet which can be nice. Prices are low, people are friendly and the food is great.

Owner response: Thanks for your great review and looking forward to your next stay unless you end up buying your own place on the beach in El Salvador. I guess then we will be neighbors & I still get to see you & your lovely wife more often. I will work at adding better pots & pans to the collection I now have in the house. See you this December.

This was a wonderful place! The pictures portrayed it exactly!! Our son was marrying a young lady from El Salvador and we were from the states and not really sure of the area or where to stay. We called and talked to the owner and she was more than helpful. She allowed us to host the civil wedding in the back yard beside the pool, under an almond tree, with plenty of seating for everyone. Not to mention the surroundings were beautiful. The bride and groom walked right out on the beach from the back yard to do their pictures. My husband and I stayed in the house a couple of nights before the wedding AND IT WAS WONDERFUL, i was sure they would enjoy their honeymoon here. You had your privacy and security with all the gates, but yet anything you needed was at your fingertips with the help of the owner, even not speaking spanish! The city was very close and the beach was just outside. We relaxed in the hammocks and walked the beach and went into town for dinner or groceries, we also ordered pizza delivered. The house was full of amenities and the open air design was great! I could go own forever! When we return to El Slavador to visit our new family, we will definately stay with Diane again and again!!!! The house was great but Diane topped it off with her hospitality. She went way beyond to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed to have a wonderful stay. We HIGHLY recommend Ranch Cajun!!

Owner response: Thank you so much for your kind words. I am so glad I could be of help on your son & new daughter in law's special wedding day & honeymoon. Thanks for the pizza & hopefully I will be seeing you & your family again in the coming years. I hope Tennessee is cooling off. It is still hot over in El Salvador.

This holiday beach home was everything promised on the website. The owner was very gracious and made you feel at home. Among the things we enjoyed was the opportunity to buy fresh fish and shrimp from the La Libertad pier. The owner Diane had a very nice outdoor grill under the palm trees to cook seafood and comfortable chairs and a table for dining by candle light in the evening. The native caretaker was available to wash up the dishes and clean the pool each day. The ocean breeze, sound of the waves, lightening in the distance and fire flies helped make it a perfect evening. There were several hammocks available for guests to relax in. We enjoyed tamales wrapped banana leaves bought off a local truck. Fresh vegetables were available by truck at the door each day. The town of La Libertad was a short distance by car and had several restaurants and groceries. The restaurants we tried were all good and being foodies this was important to us. We also enjoyed the local beers. The beach was clean and great for walking. We stayed four days and wished we could have stayed longer. The friendliness of the owner Diane mad this holiday experience exceptional. I would recommend this beach for a relaxing get away vacation. Earl

Why stay with family when you can feel so at home and rent your own. Diane the owner made our stay the best time ever. I would highly recomend anyone to stay at this beautiful, clean and comfortable place. You will feel so at home as this house has everything we have in California. All the staff is so friendly and most of all I felt very safe. Don't let anyone scare you off this is a very safe community. Very affordable for all the ammenities you get. Wiffi through, We sure had a great time and this is my spot where I'll be staying next time I visit El Salvador. My 2 daughters and all my family had an awesome experience in this pool house. Don't book anywhere else contact Diane, she is the best and I mean the best. She will make sure that you're stay is at a 5 star level.

I love this house!!! I knew if was going to be special when we walked up to the front door that had a sign above it saying "Angels Gather Here." I spent 2 glorious weeks here and hated to leave. This house is perfect & sooo clean. The beds were comfortable. The sheets were soft & everything from comforters to the pillows smelled fresh & clean. The views were to die for from any location in this house. The wireless internet worked perfectly so I could do my work on my computer from this location which is important to me. I don't usually watch a lot of TV but it was nice to have satellite TV to watch the news & keep up with some of my favorite programs that I watch in the states. The pool was great since it had seating & table in it for hanging around having drinks. The kitchen turned out to be the perfect room for all of us to gather around & cook. There is special lighting in both kitchen, living, & front patio that we turned on at night and it gave the place a very special feel. We did use Jackie & her cooking team several times while we stayed here and both the food and workers were great. She even went into La Libertad to buy our food & fresh seafood when we didn't feel like leaving the beach. Walking the beaches was great. You can walk for miles and during the week there was hardly anyone there. On weekends there were more people around. We always felt safe while we were staying here & walking the beach. We also liked the fact that Playa San Diego is a large community with little restaurants & stores in walking distance. We even tried the local bus to town which stops near by every 30 minutes. We would also walk around & see how the locals lived on the streets in front of the house. We got Maria, who is part of the team that cleans the pool, etc & lives next door to buy us fresh bread & fruit daily from the trucks each morning & deliver it to us. They would even stop the beer trucks when we needed a case of the local beer which was cheap. I also like the fact that is was so close to the airport and not any traffic getting here. We loved Dianne, the owner, who would only show up if we needed her for questions. We really liked the idea of having our privacy and yet still having people available if we needed them. So many special details. When I return to El Salvador again, I will be coming right back to this house. I have traveled the world but you can't beat this house especially at these prices. What a bargain in todays times.

Owner response: My heart always smiles when I find someone that enjoys my house as much as I do. I spent many years getting the house to this point and love to share it with people. Glad to hear that your visit went well and thank you so much for all the nice things you had to say about my house & the area. See you next year.

This past May I made my second trip to the beaches of El Salvador. This trip was far better than my first trip, which was to Costa del Sol. Staying at Rancho Cajun in San Diego Beach was a wonderful experience. San Diego is very close to the airport and very close to San Salvador. The charming town of La Libertad is only 5-10 minutes from San Diego Beach. There is a fishing peer where you can purchase fish, shrimp and any other seafood you can imagine. The town is full of charming shops and eateries and even features dancing on the "Malecon" every Saturday night. There are 2 supermarkets in La Libertad. There are also vendors at the beach selling everything from jewelry to bananas. Rancho Cajun is spacious and comfortable as well as luxurious. Every morning I was able to walk for miles and feel like I was on a private beach. You can see the sun set from the beautiful sandy beach right in front of the house. The owner sent over some local people to cook and clean for me. These people were friendly, efficient and trustworthy. I slept like a baby. The beds were so comfortable and the sound of the ocean lulled me to sleep every night of my one-week stay. I can hardly wait to book my next Salvadoran vacation-and you can bet I'll be staying at Ranch Cajun again.

The pictures do not do the Rancho any justice. We got more than we expected, the a/c's worked great the place is clean and large, and right on the water. We hired Jackie the caretaker to cook for us and run errands. I have rented other places on the water before in el salvador but Rancho Cajun has been the best so far. If this will be your first time visiting el salvador I suggest that you use taxi's or get jackie to hire you a car with driver so you can learn the area, the area is rustic but still has the modern flare, a great place to spend vacations. I along with my wife and children have been going to el salvador every year for the past 10 years and sometimes we go twice a year. When we travel we do have a car because of the many years we have been going to el salvador we have toured many cities and parts of the country. You will have a quiet relaxing time with the pool and steps away from the beach, it is very safe and private, oh did I mention that last year we invited some friends to stay with us, the total we had were 10 and we were very comfortable.

We are a group of guys that meet & travel once a year to somewhere in the world to surf. We all loved Rancho Cajun & it's great location for surfing. In just 5 minutes from the house we were at one of the best location in the world where you can surf called Punta Roca. When we got tired of that location then only another few minutes away was El Tunco. There were just endless great places to surf up & down the coastline and not that many people. Rancho Cajun was not only beautiful but very comfortable. We had 9 people in our group and we had lots of room to move around due to the openess of the house. We got Jackie to do the cooking, cleaning & shopping and she did great. Once we finished surfing for the day we loved the fact that we could lounge in the pool or walk up & down the beach since it was so flat and not like the places where we were suring during the day time that had rocks. Restaurants were near by when we wanted to go out for a meal. We all went dancing on the Beach Walk in La Libertad & mingled with the locals. Another thing we loved about this house is that it had internet Wi Fi. Other houses we had checked in the area said they had WIFI only to find out when we asked questions they did not but only offered a form of a memory stick. We all had phones & computers so it was great to have that convenience with Wi Fi. We were also surprised that there were a lot of English channels on the satellite Tv. The beds were real comfortable. The house was very open & we loved the fact that the views were great from any location on this property. We were happy the AC's worked great so we could get a good night sleep before getting up the next morning for another day of surfing. We will be staying at this house again when we come back to El Salvador. Highly recommend this house. We also felt very safe on this beach.

Owner response: Glad to hear that your group enjoyed yourself so much staying at my house. I was also happy to hear that the surfing was perfect when you were in El Salvador. We talked about your group meeting here every year for your reunion and that sounds great! Looking forward to seeing the group year after year.
