- Minimum stay:2-5 nights

Lawpark Cottage was built in 1620 and is in a conservation area in old St Andrews. The property has been lovingly restored, completely re-furbished, has full central heating and is carefully maintained. There is a secluded terrace to the rear (main photo view) which overlooks a bird sanctuary and a delightful walk to the town centre through the Lade Braes walkway and park. Although golf is the most famous attraction, the town beaches are stunning and the East Neuk of Fife nearby is famous for fishing villages, harbours, sailing and art.
Bright and sunny with three rooms opening out onto secluded terrace. Off street private car parking at front door with space for three cars and easy access to the ground floor. The property is on two floors although the master bedroom and main bathroom are on the ground floor with the public rooms.
St Andrews University town: 'Town and Gown' sums up life in St Andrews and students are part of the local culture in and around the town. They bring internet coffee shops, great fashion shops and a range of restaurants and pubs to the town. Madras College is situated in the heart of the town and the kids all are active in local activities especially golf.
Golf and the St Andrews Links: 600 years of golf in St Andrews highlighted with the 150th British Open championship being played there in 2010. There are a wide range of packages available for playing on any of the 7 courses run by the St Andrews Links trust....details on their website.

We were a group of 6 golfers! the cottage was perfect. The lounge would have been tight for 8 to sit in comfort but we accomodated 11 for drinks in the dining room. The bedrooms were fresh and home from home. An added benefit for golfers was the large entrance hall which meant all golf gear was dealt with outside the main house. We were rather let down by scottish weather but the cottage was a cosy place to return to. We will definitely be returning.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 2/2

Lovely house with all you need for home from home, lots of toiletries as well. Plenty space for two families and if we had been blessed with better weather the terrace is perfect for sitting out. Good location for all amenities.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing.

This house was excellent for us. It is within walking distance to the old town which has many restaurants and boutique shops. There was a great choice of golf courses within 30 minutes drive which were very reasonably priced. The house had everything that our home had so we felt very comfortable. The owner Dr Mairi Scott lives next door and made us feel like we were part of the community. We will definitely revisit this house in 2011.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, tourists without a car, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

Lawpark Cottage has been the perfect “home from home” in the week running up to our daughter’s wedding. The terrace garden provided a lovely backdrop to pre-ceremony photos of the bride! The house is well equipped and so comfy – everything has been just right. Thank you.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 4/4

A very nice cottage with all the equipment and fittings one would expect.Downstairs is part below ground level so feels a little damp , but heating is included so no problems with this.It is a very quiet spot with a large grass and trees type park next door-perfect for our dog.It is 5 minutes drive or 25 mins walk from the centre of St Andrews. It wasn't absolutely spotless , but it was adequately clean and all soap, and kitchen cleaning materials were provided.Recommended for: Age 55+, pet owners, families with teenagers, families with young children.
Owner response: I'm sorry my visitors found the cottage a little damp - it can rain here of course even in June, but the cottage is not "part below ground level" - the outside stairs seen in the main picture leading from the terrace to the upper level are a typical feature of properties of this age in St Andrews and the East Neuk of Fife. We hope always the cottage is cleaned to the highest standard and if any visitor should find it not to be to their satisfaction on arrival and lets us know we would of course immediately rectify the problem.

We loved this cottage which was full of character but with modern decor & pictures. Lovely outlook and beautiful walk into St Andrews. The description of the proiperty was accurate and it was clean & well maintained. The bedroom on the upper floor by the main rooms was great for grandparents. The kitchen is a long galley, & also has a small breakfast/dining area. The owner could not have been more helpful with leaving the key & popped in once to see we were happy. There are nice restaurants in the town & it has kept its historical buildings well maintained. The beaches are sandy & excellent. And of course the golf courses are brilliant. I would recommend this cottage to a friend or relative.Recommended for: Sightseeing.
