The great location, size of the house, and reasonable price are by far a GREAT DEAL for a family beach vacation!! The Isle of Palms has the only beach in South Carolina or Georgia listed as a Blue Wave Beach! We have now received this award for more than 10 years in a row. We are very proud! For more information on what qualities a Blue Wave beach must have, please visit the “cleanbeaches” website.
More great news! Charleston has just been named the #1 Top City in the U.S. by Conde Nast Traveler for 2011!!! We have been #2 for many years and have finally earned the #1 spot by overcoming San Francisco! Emmy Award-winning comedy writer and Charlestonian Stephen Colbert spoke very highly of Charleston in saying, “I've been all over the world and Charleston is the most beautiful city I've ever seen.” We all feel very honored and privileged to receive this award; we couldn't be more proud of our city and its 'southern charm.'

Nice home in a quiet neighborhood just a block from the beach, yet close to all of the historic places in Charleston. The rental company was easy to work with and the owner helped us to resolve a technology problem we had.Recommended for: Girls getaway, pet owners, sightseeing, age 55+, romantic getaway.

The good stuff... great location, lovely decorative accessories, fenced in yard. The bad stuff... way too many bugs, not well cleaned, small shower stalls, I'd describe the home as "rustic". It appeared to me that the property had not been checked prior to our arrival or that perhaps the standards are low. There was a banana peel stinking up a trash can, hair and soap stains in the bathroom sink, dead bugs throughout, head smudges on the mirror over the two seater sofa, debris on the rear patio (probably from the palms). There are large gaps around the back door, a little light around the front door, rotten framing around both at the ground so it was bug central inside, more insects than one should expect even in this climate. The place had probably recently been sprayed though so the little ones were dying all over. The two kitchen cabinets above the counters really smell bad. The shower stalls are very small especially height, not much more than 72", the en-suite toilet cubicle - very narrow. We used the outside shower, exclusively. I can't say enough about the roaches and other insects in the place, that was a major disappointment.Recommended for: Pet owners.
