  Sarah and her friend were FANTASTIC guests! I enjoyed their enthusiasm, their joy in life, and their appreciation for the Cottage. They were so easy, quiet, clean and respectful. I sure hope they come back again.

  Wonderful organic farm, full of noises of the tropics. You where out out the way and slightly out of town. I recommend it to anyone who wants to be outside of the busy streets of Kona. But it is a short drive to some very beautiful snorkel areas. Also it was nice because the nights where cool because of the elevation.

  Recommended for: Pet owners, adventure seekers, families with young children, romantic getaway.

  I have really enjoyed staying at this cottage! It was clean, big, comfortable and we also had our own garden. I like animals, nature and privacy so that is why this place was perfect for me. And the owner is really cool too! I would recommend this place to everyone! Ziva (and Luka)

  We really liked this place. It's a simple accomodation, but it was a great place for our kids since this is a fenced of cottage and they had several items for toddlers such as a high chair. It's about 20 minutes from great snorkelling locations.

  Recommended for: Pet owners, adventure seekers, families with young children.

  We are not your typical vacationers and did not want to be located in a tourist area. This cottage was exactly what we wanted. You will not find better value. The cottage was clean and neat, located on a fruit farm, up a hill from Captain Cook. (Aprox. 5 minute drive) A very safe environment. The cottage was furnished and all was in good order. The bed was very comfortable, and the shower was very good too. This place has great value! The evenings were cool and comfortable for sleeping. We enjoyed free fruit, which we picked ourselves. Best of all, our hosts Alain and Myriam were very accommodating with any requests, and also gave great advise on what we wanted to do. They also run a dive shop and Manta Ray trip. We went on the manta trip and it was very good. I recommend it! In conclusion, If you are like us, this was a great deal. Clean, neat, safe and quiet, with great hosts and very inexpensive. We stayed 19 nights. We were very happy.

  Papillion Arc en Ciel is a charming rustic cottage on an authentic working organic farm in Kona's "coffee belt". It is located at the end (top) of the access road above the main "belt road" Mamalahoa Hwy - approx. a 10 minute ride - you will need a 4 wheel drive vehicle. The cabin is clean and efficient. It has a nice little kitchen and a small "living room" which could also be a 2nd bedroom as it has a large futon. The bedroom is roomy and has a VERY comfortable king bed. There is no television ... but we didn't go to this beautiful island to watch TV. Our French hosts were very cordial and respectful of our privacy. Anything we asked was attended to expeditiously. Language was not an obstacle - they are more than competent in English. They supplied complimentary fresh picked avocados & lemons ! The bathroom was clean & had a bath w/shower & plenty of hot water. Not the Four Seasons - but very pleasant and a very good value. If you are a scuba diver, these folks also own the dive shop just down the road - and are extremely professional & know ALL the great dive sights. We would certainly go back for another stay. Good location for enjoying the ocean and the many shops and restaurants in the Captain Cook / Kealakekua area - just 15 min. to Kailua !

  My wife and I were looking for a base to explore the Big Island of Hawaii. Located just a few minutes above Captain Cook this cottage is located in the midst of little farms growing coffee, grapefruit, avocados, etc. We were able to get to every corner of the island and come back to our comfortable base. The owners are very friendly and helpful. We highly recommend staying here.

  Owner response: Patrick and his friend were wonderful guests: quiet, clean, pleasant and very friendly with a great communication. They explored the island practically all days, they took advantage of every moment. They were extremely organized and efficient. It was a pleasure hosting them and would gladly host them again any time for any duration. I am delighted to recommend them! I recommend her highly to other hosts.

Rental Agreement This Short Term Rental Agreement (the “Agreement”) is made by and between _______________________ (“Homeowner”) and _____________________ (“Guest”) as of the date last set forth on the signature page of this Agreement. For good and valuable consideration, the sufficiency of which is acknowledged, the parties hereby agree as follows:

 1.Property: The property is located at 81-2190 HAKUI NUI – CAPTAIN COOK, HI 96704 
The property is furnished and includes : Oven, Stove, Microwave, toaster, juicer, Cooking ustensils, Dishes & Ustensils, Outdoor grill, Coffee grinder, Water tank Towels, linens Snorkel gear (masks, fins, snorkels, body board) Lights Wall Clock Paintings Turtles 2. Rental Party: The rental party shall consist of Guest and the following persons:

 3. Maximum Occupancy: The maximum number of guests is limited to 2 persons. An additional charge or $12 per person per night for guests in addition to 2 will be assessed. 4. Term of the Lease: The lease begins at 4:00 p.m. on ____________ (the “Check-in Date”) and ends at11:00 a.m. on ________________ (the “Checkout Date”).

 5. Minimum Stay: This property requires a 3 night minimum stay. Longer minimum stays may be required during holiday periods. If a rental is taken for less than 3 days, the guest will be charged the 3-night rate.

 6. Rental Rules: Guest agrees to abide by the Rental Rules attached as Exhibit A at all times while at the property and shall cause all members of the rental party and anyone else Guest permits on the property to abide by the following rules at all times while at the property.

 7. Access: Guest shall allow Homeowner access to the property for purposes of repair and inspection. Homeowner shall exercise this right of access in a reasonable manner. 
8. Rental Rate and Fee 
a. Deposit: A deposit of $200 is due at least 30 days prior to the Check-In Date. The deposit is for security and shall be refunded within 15 days of the Checkout Date provided no deductions are made due to: - damage to the property or furnishings; - dirt or other mess requiring excessive cleaning; - any other cost incurred by Homeowner due to Guest’s stay. 
 If the premises appear dirty or damaged upon Check-in, Guest shall inform Homeowner immediately. b. Rental Rate. Payment in full of the following fees shall be due within 60 days of the Check-in Date: $ _______ per night x ____ nights = $_________

 Less deposit $(200) TOTAL Due $_________ 9. Cancellation Policy: If Guest wishes to cancel his/her reservation, the deposit will be refunded as follows: 100% if cancelled 60 days prior to the Check-in Date
50 % if cancelled 45 days prior to the Check-in Date A sixty (60) day notice is required for cancellation. Cancellations that are made more than ninety (60) days prior to the arrival date will incur no penalty except if deposits were made via bank transfer, which would be $50. Cancellations / changes that result in a shortened stay, that are made within 45 days of the arrival date, forfeit 50% of the rental and deposit unless we are able to re-book exact days. No refunds within 30 days unless we are able to re-book exact days. 10. Insurance: We encourage all renters to purchase traveler insurance. 11. Payment: Acceptable payment methods are personal check or bank transfer (the wire transfer fees will be taken charge by the guest).  2. People other than those in the Guest party set forth above may not stay overnight in the property. Any other person in the property is the sole responsibility of Guest.

 3. All of the units are privately owned; the owners are not responsible for any accidents, injuries or illness that occurs while on the premises or its facilities. The Homeowners are not responsible for the loss of personal belongings or valuables of the guest. By accepting this reservation, it is agreed that all guests are expressly assuming the risk of any harm arising from their use of the premises or others whom they invite to use the premise.

 4. Keep the property and all furnishings in good order

 5. Only use appliances for their intended uses.

 6. Pets are NOT allowed. OR PETS are permitted only with prior approval and the Pet Addendum must be completed.

 7. Parking: Parking is located inside the property. 8. Housekeeping: There is no daily housekeeping service. While linens and bath towels are included in the unit, daily maid service is not included in the rental rate. We suggest you bring beach towels. We do not permit towels or linens to be taken from the units.
