This house is wonderful, fun and perfect for a large group with varied interest and time to share! It's an adult home with eye candy everywhere you look. The description and pictures perfectly described it and all the details Sara provided were helpful and useful. The property is perfectly clean and beautifully maintained, we took very good care of it and everything worked out fine. I would highly recommend the house - you can not get closer to the beach, The pool is beautiful and there are plenty of chairs and decking. The bar area was great fun. We took lots of food, cooked out and remained in the compound for four days simply to rest and relax. I could hear the waves from my second floor balcony room. My husband and I took our family here for the weekend and all I can say is WOW!!!! The home is gorgeous and it's the perfect beach getaway for a family vacation. Our kids LOVED it!!!! The owners were extremely helpful in assisting us in setting up activities on SPI for our group. We're already planning a return trip for next summer.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

We enjoyed our company retreat but the home is not all it is cracked up to be. You have access to 2 king suites instead of the advertised 3. One of the suites is locked.They also lock the pantry and our group had to put all of our dry goods on the limited kitchen counter space. I highly recommend that anybody looking to rent this property bring a camera and document the house. Otherwise, you will likely lose your security/damage deposit.We were accused of four different damages (one I took responsibility for because my youngest did have an accident in one of the beds).But, the others were completely frivolous.The check in sheet has a few regulations.“Please do NOT take our chairs and umbrellas to the beach these are for use on our pool deck only”.We followed this rule without question. We rinsed our feet and legs to get rid of any sand from the beach. We used four of the allowable chairs for the beach and yet I received in an email “The pool deck chairs and loungers were taken to the beach. The wheels on several of the loungers will need to be removed to clean the sand from the joints to prevent damage. Extra cleaning is required for these chairs.” Another, “Light blue couches in main sitting room are suede. Do NOT try to wash these with water if a spot should occur. Please do not let children sit on these couches wet. If a food or beverage spill should occur on these couches, professional cleaning will be required” Based on this paragraph, we didn’t sit on this couch at all for fear of ruining the suede couches. The yellow bar stools are real suede too, so we didn’t take any chances on sitting on those. For the amount of money that you spend on this place you would think that you would be feel welcome to sit anywhere wet or dry. The owner also claimed “The hand sewn decorative bench that is in the entry way to the house has several large tears in the fabric.This is very special and expensive piece imported from Bali and I cannot replace it” and “The yellow rug in the reading room had a large black stain on one corner of either grease or ink of some kind .I cleaned this twice with resolve and this helped, but the stain will require professional cleaning." The owner could not prove to me with any type of time stamped photos that she claims, “I photograph and inventory the house between rentals so there is no discrepancy in when damages occurred.”So, there goes our security deposit on top of the price tag for this stay.Owner response: Thank you for your review, we always strive to give our guests an outstanding luxury experience and your feedback can only help us improve. We are disappointed to read that you felt it was unfair to withhold your group's security deposit after the significant damages occurring during your stay. This property is a luxury private home with furnishings and fixtures that may not be appropriate for some groups. As described and pictured on our VRBO listing we offer a multi-million dollar beachfront home with impeccable furnishings and amenities for the discerning traveler who is seeking a luxurious vacation at South Padre Island. We trust that guests seeking this type of accommodation understand it is not appropriate to damage furniture, rugs, bedding and chairs, to remove provided beach toys from the property, and to leave countless cigarette butts in our planters. This private home is non-smoking and does not allow pets, we ask that those covenants be respected. Detailed information about the configuration of the bedroom suites, the furnishings, and the amenities offered is as represented on the VRBO website and is also sent by email to every potential guest before the rental agreement is signed. We strive to answer all of your questions before your arrival date and are always available during your stay to provide guests with a relaxing and luxurious vacation on beautiful South Padre Island.
