  Trying to arrange a family reunion presents challenges with everyone's busy schedule. We decided everyone would enjoy a trip to Kauai. We used Hululani as the base home for our group. With 4 spectacular bedrooms, we were able to comfortably house a portion of us and the reamainder of the family members found accomodations nearby. We would have all 14 of us over for dinners and sunset cocktails around the pool with the amazing views of the ocean. The home is so spacious it also provided the opportunity for time alone in one of the many rooms. A perfect combination of time together as a large group and time alone was enjoyed by us all. The salt water pool was refreshing and therapeutic. We spent many hours playing games in the pool. The owner was available to answer any and all questions that came up. The property was immaculate and pristine when we arrived.The location feels private and isolated, yet we were within walking distance of the St. Regis Princeville Hotel and a short drive from Hanalei Bay, arguably the most beautiful beach I have ever visited. The photos shown on the VRBO site are beautiful, but they do not accurately reflect the beauty that is expereinced in the home and on the grounds. Being there in person far exceeded the photos shown. We have rented homes on Kauai before and none of them are in the same league as the Hululani...a truly remarkable experience.

  Hululani was the perfect choice for my group of eight. I highly recommend it when you are looking for an expansive, serene, clean, quiet, and amazing place in Princeville area. The property description and the pictures are accurate. Very easy to communicate with the property management and with the owner.

  I was filled with doubts about choosing a house online and was not sure I could trust the description and the people I was working with. I was so wrong - the house far exceeded my expectations. I am a decorator and the house could not have been more beautiful and the layout designed more perfect. The owners have done a wonderful job and spoke to us several times during our stay to make sure our needs were met. The rental company they used to handle everything for us were extremely helpful. They sent someone to meet us upon our arrival and purchased snacks for our family that we requested as we were flying in late. Although it rained most of our stay, we had an awesome time in Kauai playing games, sitting in the hot tub and swimming and having prime time with our sons and their wives. The view from this house is the best in all of Kauai - especially all the waterfalls. We would highly recommend Hululani to anyone - well worth the money.

  I can't say enough in praise of Hululani. The location of the house is spectacular, with what has to be one of the greatest views in the world, totally unobstructed. The outdoor spaces are beautiful, full of flowers and fruit trees, and you can enjoy both rainbows and sunsets from the privacy of your own lounge chair next to the pool. The house itself is large and in excellent condition. It is well-equipped with everything you will need for your vacation, with everything from beach chairs to blenders. It's location in Princeville makes it convenient to both Hanalei and Kilauea and all the beautiful beaches in the area. I highly recommend Hululani for your Kauai vacation.

  What a way to celebrate 20 years of wedded bliss! This was the perfect setting! We especially enjoyed the private back yard, pool and hot tub. When you hang out back there, no one can see you! The views of Hanalei Bay are truly amazing. All of the amenities are easy to use and convenient. We enjoyed cooking our own meals on the top notch grill. This house is decorated and finished second to none! If you experience one of the beautiful tropical rainstorms, make sure that you are on the Princeville side of the river, as they DO close the road as it crosses the river near Hanalei. We enjoyed many hours at the restaurant and bar in Hanalei because we were stranded by the river which was temporarily over the road! A memorable experience with a great folk musician, but a few too many cocktails as the road was closed into the late night hours!

  This property is absolutely stunning. The views are majestic, the interior is immaculate and comfortable and the location is perfect. Our family really enjoyed the beautiful pool overlooking Hanalei Bay. The living room and kitchen are very spacious and all the appliances are in excellent condition. The beds were very comfy and the decoration created a very peaceful ambiance. The house is a short walk from the St. Regis and its lovely beach. Its also very close to Hanalei Bay and other beaches. We felt like it was in the perfect spot to explore all that Kauai had to offer. We certainly recommend this house to everyone. Our family enjoyed it immensely.

  We stayed in this house back in 2002, and it was amazing. When we were looking for a house again in 2005, we were so excited to find this one. And even better, there were new owners (the current owners) who had renovated much of the house. It was beautiful before the renovations, and when we returned in 2005 we were so impressed with all the improvements. It was truly amazing. We love the pool & hot tub, the kitchen is great, and the rooms are all really nice. The view from the house and yard is gorgeous. Lots of space to spread out. The lawn in the back is a great place to play. Hululani is very private and quiet. My parents, who joined us on the 2005 trip, still talk about it as their best vacation ever! We actually just booked another vacation for early 2012, and hear that they've made even MORE improvements. We can't wait to see how they could have improved upon what we thought was already incredible. The owners have been fabulous in every communication we've ever had with them (pre/post 2005 and again for our upcoming trip). Hululani is a gorgeous home that you will want to come back to again and again. We're so excited return and get to share it with our 5 year old & 2 year old along with the rest of the family.

  We have rented Hululani in '08 and '09 and we love the house, location and amenities. We have spent a total of over 3 weeks there and we will be returning in 2011 for 2 weeks as well. Since 1990 we have rented 4 other houses on Kauai, and Hululani is my family’s favorite. While the house is set in a neighborhood, when you are in the backyard and pool/ spa area there is an unobstructed view of Bali Hai. There is a very private feel to the house as there is nothing but jungle behind the property. The house is well maintained with very nice furnishings and finishes. The location of Princeville allows easy access to Hanalei restaurants, many beaches and the St. Regis hotel all within 10 minutes.

  Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, sightseeing.

  Owner response: Since we stay in San Diego for the Holidays, we feel blessed that another family can enjoy our peaceful home again and again. We do have one of the best views in the world.

  We stayed for a week in Hululani "Heavenly" and the house and grounds and views were all more beautiful than the photos reveal. The views from the "game room" (a second living room upstairs) are spectacular, with lovely sunsets. Everything is in pristine condition. However, we had a series of interactions with the owner that put a damper on our enjoyment of the place. We received a series of upset phone calls because we failed to manage the pool instructions correctly -- mind you, we were expected to read and follow exactly a full page of single-spaced directions, with a whole series of photos and complex instructions; in order to heat the jacuzzi you needed to alter the way the pool was heated, and then the process of returning the heat to the pool is managed differently. Anyway, we made a mistake and we got a series of upset calls and an additional fee of $90 to pay for propane because we made a single mistake -- and it left a very bad taste in my mouth. The house itself is gorgeous (as is the pool!) but I recommend that you never touch a switch and don't go near the jacuzzi or you might be subjected to an angry reaction (and additional fee) from the owner.

  Owner response: As with any spa, you must follow instructions to heat it. The pool service man called to tell me the heater was running for 3 days and the 16,000 gallon pool was over 90. I called to make sure the guests could follow the instructions or please not use the spa. We also use a professional vacation rental agency for on island support and quality standards and I rarely need to speak with guests. I agree pictures can not do this estate location justice.
