About the owner: Once you visit Rappahannock County you may never want to live anywhere else. That's what happened to me back in 1997. Rappanannock has a spiritual quality about it. It's impossible to define. Look at the mountains, watch a golden eagle soar by, smell the mountain laurel and you'll know what I mean. I spent 2 years waiting for the perfect piece of land to become available and that is when I found Ashton Farm. I quit my job in Reston and moved to the country to learn how to farm and give my young daughter a peaceful place to grow up. I became a goat farmer. Then added sheep, pigs, chickens and turkeys. All rare heritage breeds that I carefully researched and enjoyed raising. My daughter and I have wonderful memories of our years at Ashton Farm and we hope you will enjoy it too.
