Central, spacious and secluded, Theatre Land House is the apartment for guests who simultaneously want to be around the buzz of the city and the calm of their own privacy. Located in Covent Garden at the heart of London’s Theatre Land, this secure building betrays no secrets of the luxury and comfort that lie within. As expected with an Uber London Apartment, Theatre Land House is beautifully presented with immaculate white walls, elegant grey blinds and original wood flooring, and complete with appliances and modern conveniences that might make it hard to leave.
Ground patrol Leave your fortress and take a two-minute stroll down to Long Acre where you’ll find a host of places to eat and watch the busy inhabitants of Covent Garden go by. Take advantage the area’s great shopping, with big names as well as London’s renowned boutiques and vintage stores selling pieces you wouldn’t find back home. Just off Long Acre, up Neal Street, the streets start to feel New York’s SoHo, only quainter and more compact. People watching becomes a sport here as the fashionistas and tastemakers of London speed through. Blink and you’ll miss them. Blink again, and there’ll be more.
Music box Take a detour off of Long Acre along James Street and begin to hear the melody of life in the famous Covent Garden Piazza. Home to daily classical and contemporary music performances spanning every genre – from local folk to exotic world music – this charming square harbours a battalion of amazing international talent. In between enjoying an act or getting a coffee from one of the cafés, peruse the shops inside this 17th century Italian piazza. You’ll find independent stalls selling artwork, cosmetics and jewellery set up right next to designer stores, like the Chanel Pop-up Beauty Boutique.
Show town And as the name suggests, our Theatre Land House is in the heart of London’s world-renowned theatre district. Around the corner is the New London Theatre, formerly the site of Elizabethan taverns and music halls. The New London Theatre is perhaps best known for the long-term residency of Cats from 1981 – 2002, and has since then hosted contemporary favourites like Blue Man Group and Umoja. And the Theatre Royal Drury Lane, usually just called ‘Drury Lane’ is mere moments away. This site is the oldest theatre site in London; its boards first creaked in 1663. You can’t move around here without stumbling upon another great London theatre. You’ll have no excuse not to see a show.
Bloomsday A short walk north of Theatre Land House will put you in the middle of Bloomsbury, London’s literary district. Developed in the 17th and 18th centuries, Bloomsbury was conceived as a fashionable residential area, home to London’s elite including of course the Darling family of Peter Pan. The fortunate few still reside in the area in great townhouses that are the envy of all of London. Take a walk through Russell Square Square or, if you prefer, through history at the renowned British Museum a street away. Many of the world’s oldest and most precious artefacts live here, including the Rosetta Stone and remnants of the Parthenon from ancient Greece. Watch an hour easily turn into a day here as you come face to face with objects you have only ever dreamt of seeing in person. At the day’s end, the sun sets with a certain indefinable Bloomsbury magic that will make the modern world surrounding you feel a million miles away. Fortunately, our Theatre Land House apartment is not as far, and you’ll be home in time to prepare a meal in the fully equipped kitchen or dine out at one of the many acclaimed local restaurants.
A wealth of places to experience await you whenever you step out from Theatre Land House, and all within minutes from your door: -Westminster Abbey -Buckingham Palace -Downing Street -Oxford Street -Soho -The National Gallery -Trafalgar Square -Piccadilly Circus, -St. Paul’s Cathedral, and much more.
And of course, catch a tube from one of the 3 nearby Underground stations, all within a few minute’s walk, and the exploration goes much further.
