My family and I really loved our stay at The Salty Sisters. The house is beautiful and very comfortable, with just about anything you could possibly need. The decorations are charming and the furniture comfortable. The view of the crashing waves was spectacular. It was in a remote location, but quite busy since it was Memorial Day weekend. People camped up and down the beach, but we never felt crowded. We really got a work-out taking our dogs up and down three flights of stairs fifty times a day! My only complaint was that the beds seemed small, more like double beds than queens. Maybe it's just because we're used to king size. All in all, it was one of the best vacations I can remember. Be warned: take mosquito repellant.Recommended for: Age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, adventure seekers.

We absolutely LOVED our stay at Salty Sisters! The house is comfortable and beautifully decorated and you feel right at home as soon as you walk in. Great sunrises and sunsets and the best part was it was not crowded at all. Lots and lots of shells on the beach. We built a fire on the beach, roasted hot dogs, made s'mores. My grandsons loved it! I wish that I could have stayed forever. We will definitely be going back ASAP.Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing.

Great place for a getaway! We love this beach house and the location. It's away from the hustle and bustle of Galveston but still close enough to visit. The beach is nicer down here than in Galveston. We pretty much had the beach to ourselves the entire time we were there. It was so nice that we could access the beach right across the street from the house. The beds were so comfortable! We loved how the house was decorated. We can't wait to stay here again.Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway.

Had a amazing stay at the Salty Sisters!! My friends and I take a girls weekend trip every year and this year we found the perfect spot!!! We hung out on the deck listening to the water, lots of girl talk and cutting up, played games, watched movies and went to Galveston for some shopping and dining!!! Thank you so much Joan for letting us rent your little slice of heaven!! Will definitely be back again!!! Till next time, Pam, Glynis, Melissa and RitaRecommended for: Romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway.

About the owner: The Salty Sisters grew up on the beaches of Hawaii, California, and Texas. Many summers were spent on the beaches of the Texas Gulf Coast and we wanted the same for our own families and that is why we chose the uncrowded, peaceful, and laid back beaches of the Bolivar Peninsula
Why the Owner Chose Crystal Beach:
Several years ago, while exploring Bolivar Peninsula, we made our decision that this is where we wanted a get-away home and decided to build our dream beach cottage.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
The beach in front of our home is quiet, peaceful, so private that we rarely share with anyone. The water and the laid back pace of the peninsula just has a way of cleansing the soul.
