We loved staying in this very unique modern home. It was immaculate and well-maintained, with modern appliances and comfortable beds. Thea welcomed us with bagels, juice, and coffee and was available to answer questions throughout our stay. She also provided a blow-up bed for our 9 year old granddaughter. Ballard is a lovely and green community. It was an easy walk to good restaurants and shops. The bus to downtown was 1 block away, and we quickly prefered this to driving in that hilly city. We will happily try to return to this house on our next trip to Seattle.Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, tourists without a car, adventure seekers.

Three of my friends and I had the joy of renting this beautifully modern, exquisitely spacious and meticulously clean home from Thea. While doing research in finding a place we could call our own during our stay in Ballard, I contacted Thea, the owner of this lovely property. Her immediate friendliness put this native New York at complete ease. It was a pure delight exchanging emails and it made making the decision to stay here swift and incredibly easy. I flew in from NY, two of my friends from LA, and one of my friends from Las Vegas. We all met at the house on the afternoon of an incredibly momentous day for all of us. We went to Seattle to see two our closest and dearest friends get married on March 8th. We wanted to give them their space during the wedding festivities, and yet remain at a very close and comfortable distance. I can't rave enough about how gorgeous, historic and full of amazing places to eat, have drinks, and shop Ballard is. Thea welcomed us at the house with fresh bagels and orange juice, and the warmest of smiles. We all ran around the house like giddy children completely happy in what we would all come to call home in the few days. The house has huge windows, is open, airy, and very clean. Everything we could need and more was provided. Thea even went as far as to go home and bring us her own curling iron to help us prep for the wedding. We kept in constant contact while we were in Ballard as she, of course, was very insightful about everything and anything we had questions about. The bedrooms were spacious, and very comfortable. The shower is amazing. Every possible kitchen appliance is provided. Having a washing machine and dryer was an excellent bonus. Wifi works perfectly, and of course the cable too, but I am happy to say that we were far too busy enjoying the sights to sit down for tv. We loved coming home and waking up here. A pure and utter delight fro begging to end.Thank you Thea, you are wonderfully amazing and we promise to come back!Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+, tourists without a car, people with disabilities, adventure seekers, girls getaway.

I rented this very modern townhome for my daughter and her little girl during their visit to Seattle to visit my other daughter and family. My visiting daughter found it comfortable and convenient and enjoyed the modern style and the radiant heated first floor. { Kitchen cabinets were high even for her (5'11") } Beds were great as were the colorful linens. Having a washer and dryer next to the bedrooms was great. I would rent this for myself the next time I visit my Seattle daughter.Recommended for: Sightseeing.

The owners were delightful; on our arrival we found bagels on the table and cream cheese, eggs and orange juice in the refrigerator. This is a lovely home, beautifully maintained, and located within an easy walk of downtown Ballard. The neighborhood is quiet, the neighbors are friendly and we look forward to our next stay.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+, tourists without a car, girls getaway.

My husband and I spent 5 nights in this home with our 2 sons, ages 18 and 23. The home is comfortable and in immaculate condition. The owners live nearby and went "the extra mile" in making sure our stay was enjoyable and comfortable. The home is walking distance to restaurants, coffee shops and grocery stores. There is a even community pool a few blocks away where our son was able to do his swim team training while on vacation. We used the nearby bus line to go downtown on 2 occasions. Would definitely recommend this property when staying in the Seattle area.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, age 55+, girls getaway.

The rental was clean, well stocked, several nice little touches, and very attractive both inside and out. It was perfect for our 4 day stay, but would been even better for a much longer stay. The owners were excellent, and ready to be of assistance had we needed anything. I would highly recommend this if a place in Ballard or surrounding Seattle is what you need.Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+, tourists without a car, adventure seekers, girls getaway.

Our family of five (two adults and three children) stayed at this house for four days. We had an excellent experience. The house is beautiful, clean, comfortable, quiet, with everything that one would need. My wife and I commented to each other on several occasions about what a great house this is. The owner was very kind and helpful, and we cannot recommend this house enough.Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.

My wife and I had a very enjoyable stay in this house. Thea (the owner) met me on arrival to show me the ins and outs of the home. Everything we could need was there. She even supplied eggs, butter, bread and half and half for our morning breakfast. She also provided the coffee. The home is modern and sleek. It appears to be recently constructed so it has that new home feel. The location is perfect for exploring the Ballard/Seattle area. We could walk to the local business district or drive a very short distance to the tourist areas. The Ballard locks and fish ladder was only a 5 minute drive. A twenty minute drive put us in South Seattle for the Seafair air show. Whatever your looking for in the Seattle area this home is the perfect home base. We would definitely stay here again.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, girls getaway.

About the owner: My husband, Bruce, and I have lived in Seattle for two and a half years. We have traveled extensively and had visited Seattle many times over the years from Atlanta to visit with our daughter and son in law and grandchildren. We wanted to move to Seattle for many years and in 2009 our dream finally came true! We sold anything that would not fit in our 16x8 foot POD and headed to Seattle with our four legged child, Sophie, pulling our Airstream. We spent three months making our way to Seattle and are so happy to be here in Ballard. Our new home is a short three blocks from the vacation rental!
Why the Owner Chose Ballard:
We have been vacationing in Seattle since the mid 90's and love the small town feel and closeness of the community in Ballard. We love to be able to walk to everything we need and enjoy being so close to the water.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
We fell in love with the design of our home. We had been renting down the street and saw the property take shape from day one. We have a wonderful little micro-community of 5 homes.
