Enjoy our great lake cottage for waterfront patio BBQs, lawn games, socializing and entertaining, plus the beautiful panoramic view of Chautauqua Lake from the all-windows main living area, and the convenience of a short walk or bike ride to the heart of Bemus Point and all its charm!
Our cottage has 3 bedrooms (one with bunk beds and plenty of sleeping for the kids, the other 2 with double beds each), and 2 full baths. Additionally, the sun room has a pull-out twin, and there's also a twin daybed with twin trundle in the game bungalow (game bungalow has A/C for summer use, but no heat).
The fully-stocked open kitchen/dining area offers seating for 14 adults, plus a toddlers’ table. The dock offers easy access to fishing and swimming, and pilings for boat docking. There is plenty of outdoor furniture, including a hammock. The summer game bungalow (not heated) is one of our renters’ favorites – a place to escape to play foosball or darts or one of the many board games or lawn games stocked in the cottage.
A small, stackable washer-dryer is also available. There is off-street parking for up-to 4 cars.
1/8 mile from the cottage is a mini-mart/gas station/full liquor-n-beer shop/small deli for absolute convenience.
Bemus Point and Chautauqua Lake offer unlimited all-year-round vacation activities, attractions, fun and natural beauty for everyone. In the village of Bemus Point you’ll find restaurants, live music venues, boutique gift shops and every land and water recreation you can imagine. The See Zurh House offers family-friendly casual fare, and a great place for a cold beer at night; the Italian Fisherman offers sunset views and great Mediterranean casual and formal dining; and the Hare n’ Hound Inn provides for romantic, quiet fine dining. There’s also Capolo’s pizza shop which delivers to the cottage, and the Bemus Point Inn for great diner-style breakfasts. The best place to enjoy a casual cocktail is from one of the famous colorful rocking chairs on the front porch of the historic Lenhart Hotel – order a “Lenhart Rocker” and watch the sunset. Live music can be enjoyed from the outdoor Floating Stage in downtown Bemus or at The Village Casino, home of world-famous chicken wings, late-night.
Enjoy a 9-hole round of golf at Bemus Point Golf Club, access to public tennis courts, or rent a bicycle from Lakeside Cottage Shoppe and cruise along Lakeside Drive to Long Point State Park. Grab a picnic lunch or an ice cream treat from the Bemus Point Market before you go. When you return spend some time browsing through the many unique shops within the village including Skillman's, Six Main Gifts, Imagine and the White Picket Fence. Take the kids to the playground at the Village Park or to the public life-guarded beach.
If you’re itching to get out on the water, power boats, pontoons, paddle boards and jet skis can be rented from several local vendors. In addition, some famous local attractions include the world-renowned Victorian lakeside community of Chautauqua Institution which offers arts and education programming and a variety of cultural classes all summer. Historic Midway Park is the 15th oldest, continually operating amusement park in the nation and is perfectly geared for the 5-10 year-old crowd. History and nature enthusiasts will enjoy visiting the Roger Tory Peterson Institute, The Jamestown Audubon Center, The Fenton Museum and The Lucille Ball - Desi Arnaz Center, all located 20-minutes away in Jamestown, NY...Home of 'Lucy.' Don’t miss enjoying a craft beer at Southern Tier Brewery while you are in town either.

About the owner: I grew up in Bemus Point, enjoying all that lake living has to offer including swimming, waterskiing, ice cream cones, bike rides, sunsets, and enjoying a drink and the breeze while splashing my toes in the water from the end of a dock. I also loved everything Western New York lends to a snow-lover who enjoys snowskiing, snowmobiling, sledding, snowball fights, and that fabulous mug of hot chocolate that comes at the end of a Chautauqua winter day. My dream was to someday own a cottage on Chautauqua Lake to allow me the pleasure of spending quality time with my extended local family, and to share the beauty of this place with others. That started with my husband, Matt. On his first visit to Chautauqua County, he immediately fell in love with the summertime vibe and Bemus Point’s charm. We were married there in summer 2013!
Together we worked to fulfill our dream to own a piece of lakefront paradise :). Now, whenever we need to escape our hectic lives in Baltimore, MD and slow down to enjoy life, we head straight for the cottage. We know you’ll enjoy our lakehouse as much as we do, and would be honored to share it with you!!!
