I've rented many houses through VRBO before, but this is the first time I've been so stoked on a place that I felt the need to write a review. This place is nice, new, clean and has great staff, and as others have pointed out there is a great left hand point break out front. Mario (the pool/grounds keeper) is a great surfer and shared some local knowledge. We had the housekeeper cook for us once, which was a great treat. Make sure to visit Mario's grandmother at Yolanda's for a taste of some local food. When the tide is right, you can walk along the rocks to the clubhouse, which is much nicer than walking along the roads. Location is close enough to the clubhouse, and there is another mini-clubhouse right on the Rosada beach if you need a change of scene (we never really used it). Pool is great, with beach access right off the deck. If you're a surfer, this is a really great location and one of the only spots in Rancho Santana where you don't need to get in your car to drive to a spot to get in the water. Definitely recommended for anybody looking for a beautiful location to spend a vacation.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

The owner Kay and onsite manager Tom were an absolute pleasure to work with. The views off from the back deck are more stunning in person than the picture conveys. Sunsets from the back porch/pool area are worth scheduling your entire day around. Mario the groundskeeper is a wealth of local surf knowledge and related to Yolanda (Yolanda's Restaurant) in nearby Limon 2 village. Rancho Santana facilities are unmatched in the local area. Surf was great our entire stay. Kay sent us a breakdown of things to see and do while staying at Bubby's house. Very through and helpful. A guide is available through Kay/Tom or the Ranch to help with the drive from Managua. Our group was large (16 people in three homes) so we opted for in home meals provided through Rancho Santana. We enjoyed our stay and will return again.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children.

This was my first trip to Nicaragua, but I will return. I was one of an eight person travel group and we all shared the same feeling. The VRBO booking could not have been easier and all my questions were answered quickly. Bubby's House in absolutely gorgeous as is the Ranco Santana development. The level of service provided by the homeowners on-site staff was fabulous and every detail was taken care of. The service provided at the restaurant and clubhouse was hit and miss, but we didn't use those facilities very much. The beach directly in front of Bubby's House is wonderful and private and the pool too was perfect. In short, I would suggest visiting Rancho Santana to anyone and I couldn't think of a better place to stay than Bubby's House.Recommended for: Sightseeing, people with disabilities, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

My wife and I rented the home with two other couples. Every morning my friends and surfed out front with no more than 3 other guys out. I was blown away by the location and the friendly staff. The house is brand new and super modern. Each room has a view of the ocean and our favorite part was the big pool and deck where we spent most of our time. Bubby the manager of the house was very helpful and even loaded us up in his truck to go surf at 5am one morning. Let me tell you it was the biggest adventure I have been on in a longtime. On the way to the wave we had to cross a river that was quite deep (his driving was a bit interesting to say the least). Thanks for the adventure Bubby. There is a fun clubhouse about 5 mins walk away where we had dinner 2 of the nights. They had great seafood and pasta. My favorite was The Lobster BLT (It's not on the menu, but they will make it if you ask). Linda my wife loved the Cobb Salad and the cocktails. The staff was very kind and help as well. Berta the young lady who cooks and keeps the house clean made us the best local food. Each morning she made us beans/rice, big fruit plates, and eggs. We really enjoyed our vacation and will be back next year for sure. If you want to stay at the best house in Nicaragua this is it. On the sand at Playa Rosada and a short walk to Rancho Santana, you can't beat this location. Thanks for making our stay with the Arnette crew a memorable one. The house is so big and can accomodate so many people. The cooks and maids were amazing too. Can't imagine a better house. Where do I start. Maybe that the shocking irresponsibility of this owner ruined our vacation. We paid the rental fee upfront through paypal. When we arrived on saturday afternoon, no one was there to open the house. We started asking the workers nearby if they knew who worked there. They made a few phone calls. After waiting 4-5 hours, the maid showed up to open up the house. We walked into the house and immediately noticed how dirty and unkept it was. What's more, the electricity and all the utilities were cut off, and the pool was drained!!! The maid told us that the owner took off to Costa Rica a couple weeks ago, and that she had not been paid thus was not cleaning the house. We were certain at that point that we had been scammed. The owner has been completely unresponsive with us. Luckily, his ex-wife is somehow involved in the house and we were able to get in touch with her, so she ended up refunding our money. Going for my second stay at the house this September, our family had a blast the first time. The house, furniture and overall feel of the place is just amazing. That terrace is just the place to be!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children.

Rates are based on 6 or less people. For over 6 it is an additional $50 per person, per night up to a maximum of ten. For holiday weeks(Easter/Samana Santa, Christmas, New Years, Thanksgiving) the base is $500 per night. Check in 4pm. Check out 10am. We will be flexible if we can. There is a $69 fee in liew of a damage deposit.

About the owner: We are two sisters that built this house for our family. This is our third building project together. My sister is a strong practitioner of yoga and the other enjoys cooking and entertaining family and friends.
Why the Owner Chose Tola:
The first time we came to Nicaragua we rented , Villa Espiral, across the street. We fell in love with the pink sanded beach, the sunset views and what is now our big Sacuanjoche (plumeria) tree. The biggest plus for our family was the insane surfing in Rancho Santana and the left reef in front of the house!
The Unique Benefits at this House:
Rancho Santana is a unique gate guarded ranch,on the beach,in Nicaragua. The community includes horseback riding, tennis, yoga, swimming, a small convenience store, an organic garden, guided nature walks and world class surfing. The restaurant is excellent, as is the event planning. We recently had events at the house and at the restaurant. Both couldn't have been better. All within walking distance from the house.
